5 Bedroom is a Real Stretch

We have been doing yearly retreats with the same group of 10 adults for over 25 years now and have lots of experience with vacation rentals. This was not at the lower end of our list, but it is not highly recommended for larger groups of adults such as ours. Good Things: Clean Furnishings are nice Beach Chairs & equipment plus wagons to haul them. Short walk past beautiful homes to the beach Fabulous weather for this time of year. Beach is spectacular Will be beautiful when it is done and amenities are built up. Disappointments: Not really 5 bedrooms (3 bedroom, large closet, & an office with glass doors). No place to hang, all closets totally unfinished. Even pantry has no shelves. Minimalistic kitchen supplies and amenities are sparse...had to wash dishes by hand often so that we would have enough silverware and cups and glasses to get through next meal. No soup ladel, bread knife, shot glasses, highball glasses, etc. Just the bare essentials. Twin Beds (really tufted single futons) in the closet (bedroom) are low to the floor and not recommended for adults over 60. No windows- no air. Yikes! Our single lady on the futon in the den (bedroom) was rather uncomfortable with the glass door that afforded no privacy. Our single male took the family room couch (pull out), so he had to be 1st up and last to sleep since that is the only working TV (picture was very poor). We considered renting a TV for the weekend so we wouldn't miss the Michigan vs Michigan State Game. No instruction left to operate fireplace or TV's (we figured out that the TV in the living room was just a DVD player, no box for reception). No emergency contact info at the house & instruction to close up as we leave.
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, families with young children.

I rented the Beverly Sands beach house for my husband's 30th birthday. We had friends come in for the weekend and everyone was so impressed at how beautiful the house was! It also had an amazing location! When we arrived, there was an alarm going off, but I called the owners and they were quick to respond to my call and fix the problem. I would definitely rent this house again and recommend it to friends.

Six adults and four children enjoyed our week in Beverly Shores at this wonderful home. The location (less than a block to the beach) made it easy to get the kids and all our gear down to the beach. We took the South Shore train to Chicago one day and that was very convenient to get to the Field History Museum and Shedd Aquarium.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, families with teenagers, families with young children.

This beautiful home was very accomadating and had an attractive view of the beach. The beach down the block was clean and also gorgeous. The inside of the home was large and spacious with many beds, couches, a large kitchen/dining room area, laundry room, a master bedroom with a bathroom and three other bedrooms, one and a half other bathrooms, two living room areas, an office, and a three car garage. The home was VERY well kept and clean. It is a great getaway and is very quiet and calm. I would gladly reccomend anyone to rent this property. The photos are accurate according to how the home looks. There are many restaurants nearby and attractions. The owner left many brouchers for nearby attractions and sight seeings. Overall I had a wonderful experience and would reccomend anyone to stay here also.

I just got back from a stay at Beverly Sands, this house was great! It is a newly built, very modern home as close as you could get to the beach. Yard was very scluded (wooded lot) which was great. The location was also very good. We found alot to do while in town. It rained one day so I took the kids to the childrens museum which was nice.

By schlickman (Chicago north suburbs) House is in great "brand new" condition and has lots of space for a big gathering. We had a celebration dinner for 14, plently of lovely space, and the kitchen is very well equipped, except you should bring your own nice glassware if you want that. The bedrooms and baths are lovely -- but the two twin beds are not real comfortable except maybe for little kids. Location is great - we counted off only 200 paces from the front of the house to the gazebo on the lakefront. Saw deer in the woods right outside the kitchen. Would stay there again. Very responsive owner, nice to deal with. And we could bring our german shepherd which was awesome!

What an incredible home! We have been renting in the area many years and this is by far the most beautiful place you could imagine. There is a huge common area for famailies to entertain, cook etc and the kitchen is georgous - all top of the line appliances. There are tons of bike trails around and only 5 minutes from Mount Baldi and 10 from the Outlet Mall. The house is packed with beach chairs, Coolers and wagons for the short walk to the beach. We are used to renting "cottage type" homes which are lovely, but this is really living!!
