Mountain Retreat Close to Hunter / Windham Mountain
- Minimum stay:N/A
- Internet:No
- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:No
This new house was custom built and sits on top of a hill on 5 Acres of land, just 20 minutes from Ski Windham and 20 minutes from Hunter Mountain or about 25 minutes to Bellayre Ski slopes.
Our house is inviting with a wood burning stove and large stone fireplace to warm you up after a cold day on the slopes. All recreation and living areas are spacious with all new furniture creating a country atmosphere while providing some of the 'cheats' of modern convenience. You'll get a refreshing night's sleep in our bedrooms with queen sized beds, pull-out sofa bed, and futons in the living spaces to provide additional sleeping accommodations.
The kitchen design is an open floor layout with plenty of space for too many cooks! The washer and dryer are located in a separate closet hidden from view so as not to remind you of daily chores.
The Balcony is just off the living room providing access to the "million-dollar-view" of the surrounding mountains (take our word for it, the pictures DO NOT do it justice). The downstairs recreation area is nicely equipped with a full-sized bar, foosball table and ample sitting area in front of a huge stone fireplace. We have everything you need to have a great time and enjoy the Catskills.
Hunter and Windham are quaint little villages with a variety of shops and galleries in addition to cozy restaurants where you can savor a hot comforting meal. Make a quick stop on Route 23 to pick up natural fruits and vegetables at one of the many fresh farm stands. To work off your meals, Windham has an amazing golf course tucked away in the mountains. Miniature golf and a go cart track are nearby for those not keeping score! Grand Gorge is only 5 minutes away for more excitement.
Our house is located in Prattsville which is about 12 - 13 miles from Hunter and equal distance to Windham. Perfect location if you want to hit both mountains during your trip. Three of the bedrooms are located on the main floor. There is a master suite upstairs with it's own bathroom and the fifth bedroom is in the basement off of the bar area, does not have a window. There are three full bathrooms, two with a shower stall and one with a tub. There is one bathroom located on each level of the house.

I stayed here with a group of 10 for one of the Hunter Oktoberfest weekends. The house was perfect for us, there is plenty of room and the house is very nice. The bar downstairs was a great place to hang out and we really enjoyed the beautiful views. The owners are very easy to deal with and our experience was very positive. I would definitely recommend this house.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers.

We stayed here for the second consecutive year and love this house. Peter and Anna are great to deal with, their were a couple of small issues when we checked in, but they took care of them and us. The bar area downstairs is great to hang out in without bothering the people in the rest of the house. The kitchen/dining area is big and spacious too. Love this place!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers, families with teenagers.

We came up from NYC to go skiing and had a great time at this house. It was spacious enough for 5 couples and we had enough space to all eat and hang out together. The foosball table was a lot of fun, the kitchen was fully stocked with what we needed and the house was in great condition! Very clean! The views were gorgeous and the drive to Hunter Mountain wasn't that bad at all. Anna and Peter were very helpful and reachable with our questions. Overall it was an excellent place to stay- highly recommended! If you stay here be sure to check out the "Pratsville Tavern" in town. Excellent little bar to watch football!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

LOVED this house. We have been renting ski houses for 7 years now, and this was by far the best house we have ever stayed at. We are already locking up a date for next year. The owners are great with communication, you questions are answered quickly and clearly. The house itself is amazing. It seems like it is pretty close to brand new, and the log cabin feel really fits for a ski house. The huge kitchen and table was great to sit our entire party down for dinner at once. The bar area is awesome to hang out in. We particularly liked the big grocery store style fridge under the bar, very unique. Foosball was fun, but best of all was sledding on the hill next to the house. One suggestion, put a TV down by the bar too! Either way though, this house is great, and we are looking forward to our stay next year!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

My friends and I stayed there the wknd of Jan 8th. The house is stunning. All furniture, fixutres and bedding were new and modern. It was equipped with all the basic amenities such as a fully stocked kitchen, quality and clean linens, lots of wood to keep the fire going, and toiletries. It also had a foosball table, karoke machine and ample living space to keep my friends and I entertained. The owners made sure we had up to date directions and that our questions were addressed timely.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

I stayed at this house with 10 friends for my birthday this weekend. It is so charming with all sort of fun decor and taxidermy, but is also really modern and clean. We loved the karaoke machine and the beautiful open kitchen. Thanks for making my birthday super special!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1
