Hood National Forest but we are only 45 miles from Portland, Oregon. If you want a peaceful, quiet place to be in nature, this cabin is for you. There are no highway sounds here, no traffic, no cell service even. You must go one mile to the town of Rhododendron to use cell phones or get internet connections. This is the cabin to go to when you do not want to be disturbed by clients or work. If you want to hike, ski, or mountain bike, you can do this without driving. Flag Mountain trail is a short walk from the cabin. The Mount Hood National Forest is full of beautiful water falls, rivers, and hiking trails.

We are near historic Timberline Lodge, Mt. Hood Ski Bowl, Mount Hood Meadows, and the town of Government Camp is only 8 miles away. There is so much to do here outdoors. You can also stay indoors, cozy by the wood burning stove. The cabin feels spacious and has an open floor plan. There are actually four levels, with a bonus basement bedroom, a large loft, and a small third floor loft. This is our family get away but we cannot always be up there. Please come enjoy the woods and share our family's cabin in the forest. Call us if you have any questions; thank you for looking at our cabin in the woods!

The three kids who enjoy this cabin year-round

Why the Owner Chose Mount Hood

We like to hike in the summer and ski in the winter. We live in Portland, Oregon, and found our family of five driving back every Saturday and Sunday night after a day up at Mt. Hood. We decided to cut our recreation commute and purchase a cabin in the woods, close to all the outdoor sports we enjoy. The view of the river is peaceful year-round; hiking trails right out the front door.

The Unique Benefits of this Cabin

If its the fall, the salmon spawning is spectacular to watch (September and October generally). If you like to be un-plugged, this cabin is for you. There is no internet connection and no cell service. You will feel like you are in a remote location but you are less than an hour from Portland, Oregon.
