Why the Owner Chose Lost River
I chose this location because it adjoins my existing weekend home and I had it built as a guest cottage for the main property. Also because the people are so nice and friendly and they all love to be here and cherish it like a jewel.

Great place to spend the weekend

This sweet little cabin is a great place to relax for the weekend. We went in December on a cold, grey weekend, and it was actually fun sitting around watching the cardinals play outside and the snow come down. Everything is pretty much new, nice bathroom, nice kitchen. Brian has it set up with little hotel-like touches, and it is immaculately clean. We ate out both nights, the Grill & bar on the main road has good food and cheap beer, just the right thing after the 3 hour drive from Baltimore. The Inn is a place to go and linger before and after dinner, we shot a round of pool and sat by the fireplace a while before heading home. It's pretty private and very quiet, and walking around the woods on the roads near the house is enjoyable. If you arrive after dark, be sure to bring a flashlight with you...I was lucky I had mine. I'm looking forward to coming back...Brian is very communicative and a good host, his care for this property shows.
Owner response:You guys are so nice and thank you for the puzzle. I glued it so it can be framed. Come back anytime. Brian

Used this as a getaway from DC and absolutely loved it. Everything was so peaceful, warm decor, quiet area (saw about eight deer off the deck in the morning...what a beautiful thing to wake up too!), Brian was wonderful and easy to rent from and we will definitely be back. Thanks for such a great getaway!

Thank you so much for the use of your cabin! We loved it there, and as a birder, I especially loved the wonderful variety of birds! I was very excited to hear a whippoorwill one night...first time ever. It seemed like we had the whole place to ourselves, including Lost River State Park.

This cabin's a wonderfully accessible and quiet retreat for folks looking to not travel far (it's so close to DC, Philly, Richmond, etc...) but still get away from it all. We loved sitting out on the porch at night, canoing and hiking in Dolly Sods (only about an hour away). We also had a wonderful dinner at the Guest House, per Brian's recommendation. The process Brian's set up is also really easy! No hassle, very clear and straightforward. Recommended all the way. Recommended for:
