This home is rare in its elaborate and abundant architectural detailing and exudes tropical character inside and out.
The lane is located near the Key West Cemetery and Solares Hill. The lane and house have been the subject of numerous paintings and is frequently photographed. The lane is secluded and quiet compared to the busier streets, but still allows for convenient vehicular access. The driveway for one vehicle is a rare bonus in this highly sought after location and is paved in old Chicago brick. These bricks were once used for ships ballast. Numerous galleries and restaurants surround the property within a few blocks. It is a short three blocks to Duval street and five blocks to both the beach and the historic seaport.
The historic home features two bedrooms and one and a half baths. Most rooms have vaulted ceilings and the interior has abundant natural light. Painted hardwood floors reflect the style of historic Caribbean Great Houses. Plantation shutters filter the light through the numerous French doors. The kitchen features stainless steel appliances and a professional Viking gas range. The master bedroom has a queen bed and is on the first floor with French doors to the private rear garden. The second bedroom is located in a large loft(with plenty of headroom) accessed via a ships stair and has a full bed and features a half bath.
Overlooking the living room and accessed via a rolling library ladder is a sleeping loft. There is a side deck located off of the living room and a second deck on the rear of the house. The rear deck features an outdoor shower and overlooks the lush tropical garden. The front porch is an ideal location to watch the city and features IPE hardwood decking and two rocking chairs. The home has been professionally decorated with designer furnishings throughout.
The home is fully equipped and features full towels, linens, dishes, and cookware to make your stay comfortable. There is a 32" TV and home theater/ DVD player/CD player in the living room armoire.
