This house is one of the original Hollywood homes built in 1928. It is a true "The Hills" home and keeps you out of the rat race of LA. It was remodeled last year so everything is new throughout. I have lived there for the past year and absolutely love waking up in the morning and walking throughout the Hills and all the way up to the sign and over to Griffith Park. There is a wonderful dog park nearby as well.

Our home has a huge kitchen complete with kitchenware and a wine refrigerator for staying in. It has a huge living room with a great big screen complete with all of the premium channels and DVD. We have Wi-Fi throughout. There is a land line available for guest use which allows for unlimited use throughout the US at no charge.

There are three bedrooms downstairs and two bathrooms. We have two doubles and one queen size bed in the bedrooms as well as a couch and a blow up bed. (will sleep 9 comfortably) There is a TV in one of the bedrooms as well. There is plenty of closet space to store clothes and whatever else you have. There are three showers and one bath in the three bathrooms.

It is literally directly below the Hollywood sign in Beechwood Canyon. It is 25 miles from LAX. About 7 miles from downtown. Two miles from Hollywood and Vine and the spectacular Sunset Strip.

Owner's Profile

Owner Description

Year Purchased: 2008

I am a 44 year old single man and have rented other homes on VRBO in the past and have had no problems at all. I have lived in the home for the last year and have loved it. I am available most times via cell phone if there are any problems.

Why the Owner Chose Hollywood

This is an old family home. It was purchased by my Aunt who passed away last year. My sister and I have decided to share this wonderful Hollywood home with vacationers around the world.

The Unique Benefits of this House

Simply put, this home is all about the beautiful Hollywood hills. The entire region is all entertainment and the home is right in the middle of all of it. I truly believe it is best area to stay in all of LA. The roads are very narrow so the traffic is minimal and it is as quiet an area you will find in LA.

If you can't stay on the beach, stay here!!!

Our group of 6, including 2 babies, stayed here last July. We usually stay at the beach, but everything was all booked up this year. So, we started looking inland. We've stayed in Hollywood before, but never in the hills. Let me say, it was awesome! We would definitely come back. As you drive up Beachwood to get to the house, you have the BEST view of the Hollywood sign. Also, the house itself has great views of the hills and the surrounding area. There are huge floor to ceiling bay windows all throughout the living room. The kitchen is awesome, and very spacious. In the middle of our trip, we had some friends meet us at the house. We contacted Todd, and he was very kind in letting them stay for a night. Even when we went from 6 people to 12, the house still had tons of room. For 6-8 people, this place is monstrous. Great market at the bottom of the hill (Beachwood Market) everything you would need, also great sandwiches from the deli. The TV is a little confusing, although huge, but who cares. You're in SoCal, you shouldn't be watching TV anyway. The streets are definitely small and winding, but that's part of the charm. Garage does fit 2 cars, but it's a squeeze. It's a nice addition though. Everyone in our group loved this place. And that's really saying something...we had 2 toddlers, 4 teenagers and 8 adults. We'd highly recommend this rental. Todd was always available to contact, and was great to work with. I also felt like he didn't nickle-and-dime us with fees. If you're going to be in LA, and you wanna have an awesome vacation...stay here. Hollywood Hills baby!

Just fantastic!

Recently stayed for 5 nights at this house. Spotlessly clean and superb value for money, and we looked at many houses and this was clearly the best value in the area. Todd is very relaxed, but very contactable should you need to. Location is fantastic for Hollywood and LA sights. We stayed with another family and the house was very comfortable with both families from a sleeping and eating/cooking perspective. Also the house was very well stocked which prevented the need to go and get cleaning provisions etc. Thoroughly recommended and we would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Beautiful and Comfortable!

I just recently went to LA for my bachelorette...we were 8 girls and we were amazed at how beautiful and equipped the home was. The drive to the house gives an amazing view of the Hollywood sign and then takes you up to the hills. Everything you need on a trip is already there (toiletries, towels, iron) and it was way more comfortable than staying at a hotel. The bathrooms all have showers which is convenient for a bigger group to get ready to head out and everyone slept comfortably in a bed. The house has 2 dining areas and a big roomy kitchen. Todd is very helpful and will answer anything you may need help on even during the stay. I highly recommend this house for a group of friends wanting to stay near all the touristy area of hollywood.

This is a very cool original home in the Hollywood Hills. It is huge and very comfortable. We love the history of the the area and the morning and evening walks enjoying views. The roads are very narrow but there is little traffic. Everything "touristy" is close by. Todd was very responsive and available to our needs. I would recommend this house and owner.

This property is terrific!

I rented this home to celebrate Christmas with my son, daughter and son-in-law. We all loved it. This is a unique property. The 90-year old home has been completely and tastefully updated and furnished. It is in a quiet residental area with an interesting history. It is just minutes from every "touristy" thing you might want to do. I drove in from Arizona, and my kids flew in from Dallas & Chicago. Burbank airport is an easy 15-20 minute drive from the house. I've rented many vacation homes in the past and have never found one as well equiped as this one. I brought so much that wasn't needed. Laundry and kitchen soap, trash bags, kitchen stapples, toilet paper and paper towels. Don't. 95% of what I brought was unnecessary. My suggestion would be to wait to you get to the house and then make a quick trip to the market to supplement the stapples already in stock. Speaking of the market, it wasn't until half way through our stay that we went to the little market at the bottom of the hill. I had assumed it would be expensive. It wasn't. I'd highly recommend it as it is easy in and out and the prices were in line with the chain market I'd visited upon my arrival. My son-in-law said they had a nice wine department. Also, Trader Joes in very near the house, my usual wine store. Our luck with the weather wasn't so great. All but one day we had rain. We did take a tour of the Warner Bros. studio, which my kids loved. Also on the sunny day, a tour of the movie star homes. That we could all have done without. The kids said they'd have been just as happy driving around and looking at the pretty homes. Do not book the movie star homes tour and the double decker bus tour together. They are repetitive. We wound up giving away the tickets for the double decker bus tour. A note for the television lovers. The large flat screen tv in the livingroom gets just about every cable station there is, including the premium channels. I cannot say enough good about this property. We loved our stay here. It is a lovely home. Enjoy!

LIFE IN HOLLYWOOD HILLS!!! AWESOME HOME..

Some friends and I just rented out this property on Halloween weekend for my birthday celebration...... "Words can't explain how comfortable we felt." Todd is very welcoming and makes you feel at home. This house was a home for our stay. Everything was pretty much provided; you just needed to bring your toothbrush, toothpaste and your clothes. This was our first time in Los Angeles, and to stay in Hollywood Hills, we will remember this house that felt like our home. Thanks again Todd.... Definitely, look forward to renting your home in the future.

Perfect

Date of Stay: 09/09/10 Review Submitted: 09/22/10

we rented this home sept 2010 for a long weekend. The owner has supplied the house with all the extras we dragged along. It is located close enough to hwd blvd and far enough away to feel secluded. Very quiet neighborhood. Lovely to hike to the sign or to the ranch for a horse-back ride on the trails! The only glitch was the lock on the front door...key removal was tricky! We gals spent 5-10 minutes every time we left the property extricating that key from the lock! If you are into cooking, the kitchen needs a good knife for prep work and a cutting board..that's it.Lovely, clean, spacious, beautiful views. the owner leaves instructions for everything.I can't wait to back

Amazing Rental House

Guest: Andrew (Denver, CO)
Date of Stay: 08/08/10 Review Submitted: 08/21/10

I stayed at the property with a group of friends for a week, and we all had a fabulous time. The house was everything we were expecting and more. The common areas in the house are extremely spacious and provide plenty of room for relaxing. The location of the house was fantastic for sightseeing and activities in the area. It was only a few minute drive to the Hollywood sights, 10 minutes to Universal Studios, 30 minutes to the beach, and less than an hour to Disneyland. It was great to be so close to all of the area attractions, yet still have a house in a quiet neighborhood to return to each night. Throughout the rental process, Todd was extremely easy to work with. He was quick to respond to any questions we had, and always provided complete and accurate information. I will definitely be recommending this property to friends and family who are looking for a rental home in the Hollywood / Los Angeles area.

A Fabulouse Place to Stay!

Date of Stay: 02/20/10 Review Submitted: 03/23/10

My family and I (5 adults) recently stayed at this home and had a wonderful time! The home is absolutely gorgeous! Not only are all the furnishings lavish and beautiful, everything is upgraded and everything is spotless! You are in the hollywood hills and driving up the house you get the most amazing view of the hollywood sign, without having to fight the crowds at the observatory. Staying in this house truly makes you feel like a movie star! All of the beds in the house are comfortable and finished with the most comfortable blankets and pillows. The bathrooms are clean, updated, and have everything you need. That is right, everything you need! There is soap, toilet paper, towels, shampoo even! You do not need to buy a thing to stay in this house. That takes me to the stocked kitchen. The kitchen is gorgeous with a huge refigerator, gas stove, and even a wine fridge! You have all the dishes, silverware, papertowls, trash bags, everything you could possibly need! Right off the kitchen is the laundry room that comes with detergent! Literally, everything you need, this house has. Besides the conveince of how fully stocked the home is, it is so comfortable. It has big comfy couches, a nice big screen tv, even a DVR! My family and I loved being at the home just as much as we did seeing the sights of the area. The house feels safe, comfortable and inviting. We did not want to leave! On top of all that Todd was fantastic! He met us at the house and made sure we knew how everything worked and where everything was. He left us detailed information about the garage code, the remote controls (you know how confusing those can be) and even the local sights! I really cannot say anymore, you have to stay at this amazing house to understand what I am saying. If you want to feel safe, comfortable, relaxed, and like a movie star while visiting the area, you must rent this house. It is beautiful!

Awsome Home

Guest: Belinda 01 (Stockton/ California)
Date of Stay: 12/31/09 Review Submitted: 01/06/10

I stayed at the property with a couple of friends over the new years weekend. It was an awsome house!!! The home is located in a very quiet neighbourhood in the Hollywood Hills with very minimal traffic. However yet still close to all ammenities. The pictures do no justice for the house. The upstairs is very spacious and plenty of room to move around. All of the bedrooms have seperate outdoor access to the back yard which has a deck. The home is in great condition with many updates/remodeling. I would definately stay at this house the next time I am visiting LA and would recommend to all of my family and friends.
