Life in the Hollywood Hills
- Minimum stay:3 nights
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:Yes
- Wheel chair accessible:No
This house is one of the original Hollywood homes built in 1928. It is a true 'The Hills' home and keeps you out of the rat race of LA. It was remodeled last year so everything is new throughout. I have lived there for the past year and absolutely love waking up in the morning and walking throughout the Hills and all the way up to the sign and over to Griffith Park. There is a wonderful dog park nearby as well.
Our home has a huge kitchen complete with kitchenware and a wine refrigerator for staying in. It has a huge living room with a great big screen complete with all of the premium channels and DVD. We have Wi-Fi throughout. There is a land line available for guest use which allows for unlimited use throughout the US at no charge.
There are three bedrooms downstairs and two bathrooms. We have two doubles and one queen size bed in the bedrooms as well as a couch and a blow up bed. (will sleep 9 comfortably) There is a TV in one of the bedrooms as well. There is plenty of closet space to store clothes and whatever else you have. There are three showers and one bath in the three bathrooms.
It is literally directly below the Hollywood sign in Beechwood Canyon. It is 25 miles from LAX. About 7 miles from downtown. Two miles from Hollywood and Vine and the spectacular Sunset Strip.
The home is in a very quiet neighborhood and the neighbors expect it to remain quiet. If you plan on using it as a party house, please do not rent the house.

Excellent location we needed to be near other relatives, outlook good and a 15 minute walk to nearby shop and cafe. Good photos on web, property clean and well equipped. Owner responded very quickly to questions on what we needed to bring over from UK. Fully recommend this property and get up to that Hollywood sign. Easy access to main tourist beaches Universal studios, and Hollywood centre.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+.

We rented this home to surprise my husband for his 60th birthday! Family flew in from Indiana for the surprise! The house was absolutely amazing! Perfect for our 6 adult and 1 child family! Quiet neighborhood out of all the hustle and bustle of the city. Stocked with anything you would need! We would recommend this home with no hesitations! Todd, the owner, was prompt with any questions we had concerning nearby grocery stores, restaurants, etc. Stayed for three nights and loved every minute of it. Best part....we could all be together as a family (as opposed to 3 separate motel rooms). Very impressed with the total experience! Thank you, Todd!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

This place is just perfect! The house is lovely, spacious, stylish, comfortable, clean and all-around fabulous! It is located in one of the coolest enclaves of Los Angeles- very close to Hollywood but tucked away in the much, much nicer canyon directly behind Hollywood proper (keep your eyes out for celebrity neighbors!) It is also convenient to a major freeway, so all of greater L.A. can be accessed easily. The house has an old Hollywood vibe, but with all modern comforts. Additionally, Todd (the owner) is a pleasure to deal with and the transaction was so easy. I cannot recommend this property highly enough and look forward to renting it again in the future!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home in the Hollywood Hills. Our visit was primarily centered around campus visits to OTIS and FIDM for our college-aged children, yet "living" up in this quiet residential area made us feel less like tourists and more like residents. Dealing with Todd was seamless, from initial contact to final details. In fact, I had neglected to let him know that our flight would arrive well past the usual arrival window, but he was very conscientious and made sure we knew how to get to the property and how to enter it. I found him very eager to help and especially easy to reach (which is the most important thing from the vantage point of an experienced VRBO customer). The drive to the property is stunning, as you're seeing the HOLLYWOOD sign in front of you most of the way up the hill. The home is also quite stunning, particularly the marble spiral staircase and curved arches. We noticed that pets are allowed with prior approval, and the backyard is fenced. We regret not bringing our dog with us, so next time we'll probably ask if that's okay. The bottom line is that we wholeheartedly recommend this property and as our daughter was just accepted to FIDM, we will absolutely return!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway.

We stayed in this beautiful home for a week with our three kids. The owner, Todd was very responsive and helpful. The neighborhood was very friendly and quiet and offered an amazing workout as we walked/hiked to the top to get an awesome view of the Hollywood sign. The neighborhood is beautiful and not one house is alike! The house was very well stocked with paper towels, toilet paper, soap, dish soap, shampoo and conditioner and body wash - what a pleasant surprise! Overall the house is great, the bedrooms are down a spiral staircase with the living space upstairs. it is also very convenient to have a laundry room with laundry soap included as well! The beds were very comfortable and there were extra pillows and blankets! The living room couches and chairs were extremely cozy and we enjoyed watching the tv with every channel imaginable and had a DVD player too. The kitchen is well stocked with pots and pans, wine openers, serving platters and baking sheets and pans. The local Beechwood market is just down the hill and is convenient but expensive compared to Ralph's on Sunset. Hollywood blvd is only two blocks away and we did something new everyday - Griffith observatory basically just down the street, Hollywood blvd - walk of fame stars and tours of beverly hills, Santa Monica pier and Venice beach and toured over to Malibu and PCH drive - everything was so close and convenient to get to! We even enjoyed a couple of oranges off the tree in the back yard! There are some staircases in the neighborhood that we found out about too late but would be very interesting to do. if you are staying in LA for any amount of time - stay here - You will not be disappointed!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We were three couples who traveled from Utah to celebrate a Birthday in California. The home was set-up perfectly for our needs. We enjoyed the location as it easy to get to Hollywood's fantastic shops, galleries, etc. We weren't there to do touristy stuff, but if we had been, this home would also be perfect for that. It's close to the freeway which makes it easy to get to Universal Studios, Downtown, The Hollywood Bowl etc. The owner was great to work with as well, and we even met the Neighbor's who are very sweet. The neighborhood is great to walk around and a little hike up or drive up and you can be at the Hollywood sign. I would recommend this place to anyone and will be staying again myself if it's available on my next trip out.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

From our first booking enquiry, we have had an excellent response from Todd, the owner. We have enjoyed our stay, with several family members suffering from food allergies, we have made use of the spacious kitchen facilities. Every morning we have climbed the secret staircase to access the views from the top road from down town to the Griffith Observatory, great morning exercise. With the three bedrooms downstairs, there is plenty of room in the living room to stretch out and relax. The property is so quiet but so convenient to access Hollywood and other attractions.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The house is really nice and has been updated beautifully. Our family of 7, including 3 children, found everything comfortable. The kids especially enjoyed playing in the backyard and the adults appreciated the quiet time in the house. My son and his family live not far from here and since this house is bigger, their family of 4 spent New Year's eve celebrating with us. Of course with the children, we rang in the New Year east coast time so my son and family could go home to sleep in their own beds. So, the point is, this is a very spacious house! The location is perfect for going to all the tourist attractions in LA, Also being so close to the Hollywood sign makes the location superb. You get to stay where Hollywood pretty much started. There is a great store just down the hill so buying groceries was no problem. Everything was as it was presented on this site and the owner could not have been more friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend this property to a relative or friend and may even stay here again on another trip to LA.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Really enjoyed putting my family up in this house for a week for Christmas. I live down the street and was looking for something close by. I was surprised at how much more quiet it is up the hill just a little ways. Great location for walks, convenient to Hollywood proper and the house itself is beautiful. Everything was as I would have expected, I'd recommend this property and owner.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Year Purchased: 2008
About the owner: I am a 44 year old single man and have rented other homes on VRBO in the past and have had no problems at all. I have lived in the home for the last year and have loved it. I am available most times via cell phone if there are any problems.
Why the Owner Chose Hollywood:
This is an old family home. It was purchased by my Aunt who passed away last year. My sister and I have decided to share this wonderful Hollywood home with vacationers around the world.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Simply put, this home is all about the beautiful Hollywood hills. The entire region is all entertainment and the home is right in the middle of all of it. I truly believe it is best area to stay in all of LA. The roads are very narrow so the traffic is minimal and it is as quiet an area you will find in LA.
