The pictures of the outdoor space do not do it justice! Seriously, the pool area is amazing! We had a wonderful 5 nights on vieques. This house is in an extremely convenient location very close to the Best beaches and esperanza. Dennis, the house manager, gave us lots of tips and was very helpful. I cannot wait to return.

What can I say this place is amazing,we loved Casa la Vista, they aren't kidding about the views...spectacular!! We were two couples, each had our our bedrooms with private baths, very private as well as the home. The pool is also very private with the most amazing views unubstucted overlooking the Bio and Sun Bays. The house manager is very nice brought us to our car rental and was very informative. We will definately be back.

Owner response:Thanks, Jamie and Jon, you are welcome back any time.

Just got back from our third stay at Cas la Vista and it just gets better each time. This home is very special because of its location and views...stunning. The privacy that the home and pool offer make you feel your on your own private island. We would highly recommend this hoem to anyone.

Five star pool and views, average house.

We are a family of 4 with girls ages 10 and 13. This was our third trip to Vieques and third house rental on the island, all for one week. We choose Vieques when we want to rent a house and are feeling budget-concious (If we're going to St. John, we have to split with another family to make it work) The new pool and views from Casa la Vista are really great. The pool's location a little uphill of the house creates both privacy and separation. You can decide if you like the separation. The bedrooms are spacious and if you are a big family or sharing, their multiple-bed configuration is a big plus. Bathrooms are fine, although we couldn't coax any real hot water out of the master shower. Living room is fine but not luxurious. The veranda with it's space, views and outdoor bed are really fantastic. The kitchen, not so much. I think they are probably doing a good job of upgrading the house over time, and I hope the kitchen is next. Fridge is tiny, and the housekeeping staff may be hurrying through cleaning the kitchen. House rentals are tough this way, because the people who rented before you may be slobs, and their bad habits can get passed down to the next renters if attention isn't paid to this detail. Parts of the kitchen and the old fans and some corners of the house are a little bit "grody".We really loved the location compared to previous stays in Bravos de Boston. The better proximity to Garcia Gate and Esperanza makes being on Vieques simply better if you like those south shore beaches. Kudos to the owners for the addition of the fantastic pool and finishing touches on a splendid veranda. We have rented over a dozen different homes in the Carribean over the years, and we would rent this one again, especially if the improvements keep coming. Bang for your buck, a fine vacation rental.

Casa La Vista March. 2011

Fine if you want to be totally isolated, and security is not an issue for you, If you don't mind opening about six locks and padlocks to gain access. Screen door lock to house was defective and showed signs of having been jimmied open recently. We could not get in the first time we went out to buy supplies. House manager -not Bob referred to in other reviews - not very obliging to the point of being arrogant and rude, intentionally or otherwise. Pool and views lovely, but did not compensate for the other problems encountered. We left within hours and took accomodations elsewhere. We got no reimbursement at all for our prepaid stay. We have stayed at a variety of accommodations in VIeques over the last 20 years - NEVER had this experience. ,Advice - do not pay sight unseen - rent something else, there is plenty available. OR use a broker, or buy VRBO's rental insurance.

Owner response:As the old adage goes “you can’t please everyone” As owners of a rental property you don’t ever like to hear that someone is not happy with your accommodations. The person that wrote this review was informed numerous times that the property she was renting was remote; this is the reason why most people rent and love our home. As you can see from our other reviews she is definitely in the minority, we have many repeat guests that love our home and its location.

Great Place to Recharge

A peaceful spot unobstructed views overlooking the beautiful sea and bio bay. This was our third trip to the island and this house. The pool is a new feature, very pleasant addition! I for one miss the roosters but, the horses pass by and the coqui are very reliable. Hummingbirds and bananaquit visit every morning. We go for the snorkeling, beach, rest, and relaxation. The island has no short supply of restaurants of various range and tastes. Local vendors are really good too. A very friendly environment. Many thanks to Bob the house manager for meeting us at the ferry, supplying us with some groceries and being avalible if needed. Great time had by all. I would recommend to anyone.

This was perfect for us (family of 4, two teenage children). The location is beautiful, the house is comfortable, the swimming pool view stunning. Everything worked perfectly, the manager, Bob Zak went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and had no problems. In short, this is a great place, and I unconditionally recommend it.

This villa offers a place to relax in privacy. The large porch is beautifully furnished with an unobstructed view of the Caribbean. The home has 2 lower level suites which offer privacy for 2 couples or families. The location is ideal...10 min drive to the best beaches or town. The pool is a beautiful place to relax while enjoying the view. The property manager is extremely hospitable he picked us up at the airport and helped us get our rental car so we were able to start vacationing quickly. He was always happy to assist us during our stay. We would stay here again when back in Vieques.

Wonderful Time

We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay at Casa la Vista. What a pool!! It’s big enough to swim laps and the view is spectacular. We spent many hours enjoying the “10” view of the Caribbean from both the pool deck and veranda. The house manager was extremely helpful – he met us at the airport and answered all our questions about Vieques and the house. As other reviewers have mentioned, the house and pool are very private and the only sounds one hears at night are the coqui frogs and an occasional horse moving in the woods below the house (no roosters like our last house!!). The house was clean and well-maintained and has all one needs for a comfortable vacation. A special treat was watching the stars from the new outdoor bed located on the veranda. The beaches on the island were, as usual, beautiful and un-crowded. The food in the restaurants is very good to excellent with good variety. If one is looking for a relaxing, laid-back vacation with a great pool and fresh limes in the yard for the drink of your choice than this is the house to rent. Highly recommended.

I felt compelled to write this review after seeing one negative posting about Casa la Vista. We stayed there more than once, for a total of about 11 days (all during one trip). The house is very cool! The pool is one of the best on the island (and spotless) The communal areas are comfortable and well appointed, and the veranda is extraordinary. Any little issues that arose were handled with ease, but i think the person who complained must be more suited to a 'package resort location" (which we hate !) If you can't chill when you go to the carrib? Unfortunatley my daughter is getting older and cant miss as much school, but when I ask her where she wants to stay on our next visit, she wants La Vista ! (so do her Mom and I ) We have stayed at some of the more high end places on the island, and unless we had a large family get together, La Vista is a great choice. Thanks Micheal !

Nicest spot in the Caribbean

We had an amazing stay. The house manager is wonderful, and the view has to be seen to be believed. What a swimming pool! We have three kids under the age of 9 who shared the second (very large) bedroom - they had a blast too. Just keep in mind that the two bedrooms are rather distant from each other (one outdoor staircase, one indoor staircase and a house length apart) so it might be challenging with little kids if you are nervous about being that far apart at night.

This home has a perfect location on a hill overlooking the Caribbean and is very private and quiet. The pool is fantastic for relaxtion as well as doing laps for exercise. The location of the home on Vieques couldn't be better- half way between the two towns and close to the entrance to the beach areas. There are two caretakers who met us at the airport, took us to the rental car agency and even stocked our fridge with food for the first night because we arrived late! I recommend this home very highly.

This vacation was just perfect.....the island, the house , the views, the pool, the sunsets, the beaches. We just loved everything about it. The house is isolated enough to give us the privacy we were looking for. Unlike the last house we rented, there were no roosters to contend with. We love the beaches on the island but it was tough pulling ourselves away from the beautiful salt water pool. The house managers are terrific, they made our stay so comfortable. I would highly recommmend this house to anyone.

This house had everything we wanted. It was well-maintained and clean. The friendly manager met us at the airport and was helpful and attentive the whole time we were there. The location is spectacular and it was the nicest pool I've ever seen at a house. Loved having internet access as I looked over the valley from the long veranda.I have already recommended this property to everyone who asked about my trip. The only thing for those who have children - the two bedrooms are not in the house together - you have to go outside and downstairs for one of them. But you can hear enough through the walls from one room to the other so we were perfectly happy with the arrangement. (our kids are 6 and 3). Great house, amazing location, no complaints whatsoever.

This house is wonderful. Sitting on the porch enjoying the view or swimming in that gorgeous pool would be vacation enough, but we found snorkeling at the area beaches was fantastic. The location is secluded and with the house situated on the hill, you feel like you're on top of the world. The house manager greeted us at the airport and took good care of us throughout the trip. We have already recommended the place to all our friends. Loved it!!! Carole and Courtney
