Highly Desirable, Tropical, Spacious Condo in Popular Sandpiper

Step into the palm-filled, delightfully tropical atrium entrance of this spacious 2-bedroom condo and begin a most pleasurable vacation. This bright and white, perfectly situated condo is like a breath of fresh air and allows you to take in views of the mountains, lush grounds and palms, in a private, tranquil setting. If tranquility is not all that you want, El Paseo awaits you just steps away. Stroll out to world-class shopping, fine dining, casual restaurants, and art galleries along El Paseo, the central tree-lined street in the heart of Palm Desert. Or, put on your hiking shoes and trek in the other direction into the mountains.
If you don't want to use a car, you don't have to if you stay here, because a large grocery store, Starbucks, first-class wine store, great restaurants, and the area's largest shopping mall are within easy walking distance. Public tennis courts are also just a few blocks away tucked into a mountain park setting. Prefer golf? Take your pick of dozens of courses nearby.
The complex in which this condo resides, the Sandpiper, is an exemplary architectural landmark, with low density wide open 'circles' of acreage with only 16 one-level condos in each, overlooking lush, manicured rolling grounds (see photo). Each circle has a pool in the center, so it feels like it's your very own pool. The Sandpiper is truly unique in that it feels secluded and private, but it is really close to everything that is great about Palm Desert.
Of all the units we had seen in the Sandpiper, this one captivated us the most, because of its orientation, openness, tropical feel, interior atrium, and connection to the outdoors. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
One of the greatest advantages we have realized of being tucked up against the mountain in south Palm Desert is the marked difference in weather that protects this area from intermittent winds that are felt in the north end of the valley.

The condo was absolutely perfect, Very well equipped. Although the weather was over the top the place kept us cool. The pool was great. Situated closed to everything you need. Groceries and all the other stuff you don't need but want. El Paseo! Minutes to the COD market on weekends. And close to all the golf you can duff. Highly recommended. We will return.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at your condo. The setting is beautiful as is the condo itself. We found it clean and well supplied with the essentials. We had no problems and were able to relax and have fun in some great weather. We found some excellent hikes nearby and some great restaurants were in walking distance.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, romantic getaway, age 55+.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2009
About the owner: Our main home is in Portland, Oregon, where we have a multitude of family members. We also have family members near the 'other' Portland in Maine, thus the lighthouse photo, aptly called Portland Head Light. We vacationed in Palm Desert a number of times and fell in love with the lushness of the area, the dry sunny weather and most of all, the surrounding mountains that add a wonderful dimension to desert living.
Why the Owner Chose Sandpiper:
We chose this condo in the 10th 'circle' at the Sandpiper, because of its ideal location in the back of the property and tropical feel. It was the only condo we had seen that opened into a 140 sq ft palm-filled atrium. The ceilings were also higher than other condos we had seen and floor-to-ceiling sliding doors and glass wall between the atrium and living room made it feel even more spacious. It was bright, white, and airy - just what we were looking for in a desert getaway.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
It's the greatest pleasure to wake up to the tropical birds, palm trees, fresh air, and beautiful light. A giant grapefruit tree, visible from the living room, beckons to be picked for breakfast. Open the huge sliding doors onto the lanai and gaze out to the long views of the mountains and impeccably manicured grounds that gradually slope down to the pool area. You can stroll over to Starbucks for a familiar cup of coffee and newspaper in soft chairs on their outdoor patio or have breakfast at a number of local restaurants on El Paseo. As the day moves on, the sun shines into the condo's atrium and eventually reveals the colorful sunset colors and mountain silhouettes from the master bedroom's outdoor terrace and master bath's transom windows.
