We have been renting Gulf front vacation condos for 10 years. This year we decided to try a St. Petersburg inland house for our 6+week winter break to see if we would enjoy the area as much without hearing the surf and viewing the ocean. We’ve been pleasantly surprised. This house is fully equipped, a 10 min walk to the Pinellas Trail, a short ride to the beach in one direction, another short ride to the charming and dynamic downtown St. Petersburg in the other direction. It has a lovely screened in pool/patio, an open interior flow, a front view of the wild life around the lake. In fact, we’ve enjoyed this rental more than most of the other places we tried on the Gulf. Its privacy, roominess, accommodating owners and management staff made it easier to enjoy our stay so much that we hope to continue renting this house for many winters to come. The location is ideal. The house is just minutes from the beach, putt-putt, stores, mall, etc. The setting is very nice. A beautiful lake is easily seen from the living room windows. The space is cozy and can accommodate 10 - 12 persons. It is a great area for walking or bicycling. However, the owner needs to do some work on the house. It is older than it looks from the photos. The carpet in the bedrooms need to be replaced. There is a bit of a musty smell in the home. The mattresses need replaced, one of the twin mattresses seemed broke. When we arrived, we had to replace light-bulbs in key areas. Some light fixtures need repair. A toilet leaked. All the furniture, plates, utensils need to be modernized. So does the bed sheets and comforters. They are very dated. The towels were old and dingy, barely enough for ten guests. The basketball goal in the garage was broke. We had to pump up the balls and bicycle tires. There was hardly any fishing equipment. There are old toys in the garage that need to be thrown away. We wanted to cook out , but the outdoor grill had no gas. The pool area is very nice. But it was not heated as advertised. The owner was wanting to cut down on cost. In the heat of the day our kids still endured the cold water. Our family had a great time in the home. This place has the potential to be fantastic, but the owner needs to be willing to spend a little bit of money. All of the things mentioned above could be easily fixed.Owner response: Thank you for your candid review. I will make sure the owner is aware of these issues. He is planning a trip to the site for updating. This "to do" list will be very helpful. I am sorry for the inconvenience.

This was such a nice home, very clean and well kept. Everything you could possibly need was right there. Very easy to find, close to shopping and the beach, yet not right on the water. We traveled with 4 adults and 3 kids (11months, 3 years, 5 years) and we still had extra space!! We cant say enough great things about this house. Everything you could need and more are already provided! Amazing location! 5 minutes or less to the beach and Johns Pass. Everything was so clean, quiet neighborhood, simply amazing! We will be back! We travelled with 4 adults and 1 child from Belgium and had a perfect week in the house. It has everything you need for a great family get away. The pool is well maintained and was in constant use. Beaches, shops and restaurants are plenty and within short driving distance. Best of all - no darting between hotel rooms or “meet you in the lobby” moments. This location fit our every whim. We went down with 3 couples, 6 kids, and a grandmother and everyone had somewhere to sleep comfortably. Two of the kids were in pack and play cribs. The pool is awesome and heated, it is also screened in so there are no bugs and the sun doesn't feel too hot through the screens. The house has everything you could need including a fully stocked kitchen, towels and sheets, and a little high-chair for babies. 1.5 hours from Disney and 30 min. from Busch GardensDid you find this review helpful? I came to this place because it was a great deal and was overwhelmed with all the accommodations had to offer! We were close to everything,the beach,shopping,Busch gardens,John's Pass,fishing,parasailing,dolphin &casino boats & golfing. They have a butcher at the end of the street that has all the best meat and even carries beer, wine ,or any staples you might have run out of.They also have a sports bar in that same area.I came with extended family &4 children and they were so happy all the time,we hated to leave.We will be making it at least a yearly trip,if not more!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, people with disabilities, families with young children.

Loved this charming home it make you feel like you have the best of both worlds here in Florida, IT`S 1 mile from the beach and 1 mile to a large shoping area,it`s what some people would love to have all in one but is hard to find. Has a lovely pool, fenced in yard for pets and privacy. Not to mention the great view of the small lake out the front window , Great view from the front porch ,setting there listening to the birds and taking in the view. Was surprised how quit the neighborhood was, just people like my self walking there pets,and people taking advantage of the doggie bag despensers located along the way a nice feature for sure. We will be back Thank YouRecommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, people with disabilities, families with young children.
