Accommodations: House, 1 Bedroom + No additional sleeping rooms avail, 1 Bath (Sleeps 2)

We call our home the "The Crow's Nest" because you must climb 31 steps to the deck and main entrance. The view on the deck and from the front of the house is extraordinary.
We have furnished the home luxuriously with Turkish towels, fine linens, down pillows and comforters. The sofas are comfortable new leather and we have a very unique entertainment center made like a boat and a one of a kind custom built electric fireplace.
The kitchen is completely furnished with all new cookware and service ware. We have all the bar utensils and glassware you will need, but remember BYOB. There are beautiful sunsets to be seen from dining the room window.
Barview Jetty Park is across the street and from there you can walk on the beach all the way to Nehalem Bay (8 miles). From the deck you can see the historic Bayocean Spit that separates Tillamook Bay from the Pacific, it offers 4.5 miles of hiking trails along the bay and you can walk back along the ocean.
The Port of Garabaldi is 1.5 miles and offers charter deep sea fishing, a boat ramp & moorage and there is a public pier from which you can fish or catch crab.
We are 15 min. from the Tillamook Cheese Factory which offers free tours, cheese samples and yummy cones. Just down the road is the Blue Heron French Cheese Company specializing in Brie, they also have free jellies, sauces & syrup to sample, and a wine tasting room with samples of Oregon wines. The Tillamook Air Museum is housed in a WW II blimp hangar which is the largest wooden structure in the world and contains one of the country's top private World War II aircraft collections.
Whether you want to be entertained or entertain yourself you will find the opportunity.

Map & Owner's Profile
Luxurious Couples Retreat Awesome Views of Jetty & Ocean.
Year Purchased: 2006
Why the Owner Chose Rockaway Beach
I had grown kohlrabi in my garden and was bringing some to a German friend. I had not been to his house before. When I reached the top of the steps and saw the wonderful view of Barview Jetty, the boat traffic in & out of Tillamook Bay and the ocean crashing off of the jetty I fell in love with the place. A few years later I was able to buy this home from him.
The Unique Benefits at this House
I enjoy the quiet and privacy of the place. It is next door to fishing, crabbing and the miles of sandy ocean beaches. I like the fact that everything in the home is new, and of course the big deck and outstanding views and sunsets.
Owner's Map of Rockaway Beach

The beauty of the Crow's Nest is that it is in the middle of everything, but away from it all. After a hectic day in Cannon Beach ( lots of people) or the Tillamook Cheese Factory (even more people) it was wonderful to return to our serene little cottage, sit on the deck with a glass of wine, watch the boats go by and the sun sink slowly into the Pacific. The location is great. We toured up and down the North Coast from Astoria to Newark in the week we stayed with relative ease. Don't miss the Quilt Trail in Tillamook and the charming museum filled with vintage quilts and needlework and a passionate dedicated staff who work hard to keep these fading arts alive. The Newark Aquarium was really wonderful and so was the Tillamook Air museum. The Crow's Nest is within walking distance of the beach. Seriously, out the door, down the stairs and a half blook down the street. So beach time is always within reach. We loved the little town of Manzanita and the lovely beach and cute shops. The maritime museum in Astoria is great too and they had a wonderful street market on Sunday. Yummy pastry. Rockaway Beach and all the funky touristy shops was fun. We just had to indulge in the multitude of flavors of salt water taffy and fudge. Oh yeah, and Ray says if you haven't had cheese curds you are missing the boat, so when you do the tillamook cheese factory pick some up. Maybe the best part of our stay was being there during blueberry season. Barb, the owner of the Crow's Nest left some of her homegrown blueberries in the fridge as a welcoming gift. I had them on my cereal every morning and they were fabulous. We stayed the last week in August. I didn't want to leave. Don't miss this really charming little place. Happy traveling, Trish and Ray Denver, CO.

Thanks for providing the perfect accommodations. Although we had rain, it just didn't matter as we had a great view and got out along the coast in our rain gear and walked the beaches. The Crows Nest was clean and comfy...the sheets must be 600 thread count. The big, fluffy brown towels were fabulous, even the pots and pans were top of the line! I highly recommend this space. I wish we had stayed a week! Thank for providing such a clean and well maintained space for us. I also highly recommend the "Artspace" a few miles south of Rockaway Beach. Good people, food and location! LP

The house was exactly as advertised. Comfortable, quiet, clean. Nice furnishings. I liked the fact that it is a 'no pet' house so there's no funky smells. The kitchen is very user friendly and provided all the cookware and dishware that we needed to enjoy all of our meals without ever leaving the house. The County park is a nice gateway to walking on the beach. Quiet neighborhood. Overall a nice peaceful location for a couples get away. We will definately stay here again.

Thanks for sharing that cute place with us. We arrived on Thursday afternoon to some nice weather and a great sunset. Friday was beautiful, we enjoyed the deck with another fine sunset. We got some fresh cooked crab in Garabaldi and that was dinner on Saturday night. All three days we were entertained by many many boaters fishing right in front of us. Thanks again, we enjoyed our stay at Crow's Nest.

We had a very comfy stay! We appreciated the extra's not often found in rentals - dish soap, coffee/tea, laundry soap.... We enjoyed the vacation & the Oregon Coast very much. We missed having wi-fi - and have made the suggestion to the home owner. It's a good location for exploring both the Oregon coast and the Tillamock State Forest. We had several splendid hikes during our time there.
