This property was top notch! Gorgeous gardens, beautiful setting, quiet, great location. Very close to Russian River, awesome for biking, running, walking. Additionally, the wineries near by were amazing. The owner was extremely helpful providing favorite wineries and restaurants in the area. We would highly recommend staying here!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Exactly what my wife and I were looking for. Super clean small cottage right in the woods, views of the vines and reasonably priced. We liked the seclusion but still within a very short drive to some fine wine tasting, the main reason for our trip. Cherie was great to work with as we booked our stay at her place at the last minute. Had we known how lovely the place is we would have spent more time there. We've made a number of trips to the Russian River and Dry Creek and will definitely try to stay here on our next trip. Take Cherie's advice on boutique wineries to visit.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway.

This little get-away was just as featured in the photos and description. My husband and I spent three nights there, our 24 year old daughter joined us for the weekend and was comfortable on the sectional couch with linens provided. There was an inflatable bed available, but the couch suited her just fine. Loved the location! We are avid road cyclists and could start right off on Westside road. We felt very safe and secure with the gated, locked access to the property. Also, very quiet at night. It couldn't have been prettier in mid-October. The gardens were still in bloom and the owner offered us the herb and vegetable gardens bounty for our dinner salad. There are several levels of decks to enjoy outside dining, and loved having coffee right off the bedroom doors. We found the kitchen to be quite well-equipped for our needs. Shortly after we arrived, a caretaker came and cleared the outside patio of leaves and fallen acorns so we could spend time taking in the view of the valley. We were able to directly contact the owner who responded promptly when we needed an additional propane tank for the BBQ, and to re-connect to wi-fi when it went down. Nice to have the additional flat screen TV in the bedroom. Bed was very comfortable. Took the owners recommendation and had dinner out at Willi's in Healdsburg. Also joined in a hosted bike ride in the Dry Creek Valley with Debra, owner of Dutcher Crossing Winery. Enjoyed the stop at the General Store for a morning treat during our ride. Closer to the property, there is a great view of the Russian River from the Wohler bridge just down the road. We had inquired about biking routes at the Spokery in Healdsburg and got some tips. Roads are not very wide and in need of repair due to wear and tear of the wine trucks. Locals say to ride early in the morning before wine-tasting begins at 11:00 am, and weekdays are less busy. Beautiful scenery all over and recommend this property for a great get-away!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

The location was absolutely ideal for a surprise anniversary trip for my wife and I! The location was right in the middle of Sonoma wine country as we were able to walk to Porter Creek and Thomas George wineries. The one bedroom unit was very spacious and clean with well maintained grounds. The owner made us feel welcome immediately with incredible dining and winery recommendations. Her attention to detail and correspondence before the reservation was thorough. The photos were accurate, and the location is ideal for a couple seeking a relaxing weekend. The location is very relaxing and ideal for just getting away for a great wine country vacation.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We traveled to Healdsburg for a wedding and wanted to take advantage of the wineries and vineyards. This property exceeded our expectations in every way. It was hot that weekend, reaching +95 degrees, but the cabin (as I call it) was cool inside, like it had AC. In the evenings, it cooled off considerably and was even more comfortable for sleeping. The couch and TV area is cozy and relaxing, and the desk overlooks the vineyard across the street. You can walk across the street and walk through a vineyard in seconds. Great bathroom and shower as well. The location was perfect, it's basically right in the middle of most of the vineyards and town was only 12 minutes away. Driving to and from the cabin was easy and beautiful. It's a very quiet and relaxing place to stay. We will come back and hopefully get to stay here again. Thank you!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

My husband, kids and I stayed at Cherie's place for an extended summer weekend in July- looking to find some sunshine and escape the San Francisco fog. It was wonderful. The rental unit was comfortable, clean, and well decorated. Someone commented in a previous review about the lack of a/c. We found the place to be very cool inside, despite the 90 degree temperatures outside. There were ceiling fans but we never turned them on. My husband and I slept in the bedroom, along with our infant, and we set up our toddler in the living room. With two older kids the place would be a bit small, but with one child (or two very young kids) it works. The grounds were beautiful. Our two year old loved running around the garden looking for lizards while we sat on the hammock and looked out over the vineyards. We also went for a couple of evening walks through the vineyard across the street. We went out to eat most nights but if we had the energy to cook we would have used the grill and lovely outdoor dining area at Cherie's place.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We spent the weekend here for a girls' getaway and had a great time. The house is charming and clean, and the location is excellent -- very close to tons of wineries and convenient to downtown Healdsburg, Windsor and Guerneville. It's not huge, but 4 can fit comfortably. Cherie has done a beautiful job with the landscaping and patio -- it's a soothing and relaxing space. Cherie is so nice and accommodating, and if you're fortunate, you will meet her two dogs as well!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We stayed for 6 nights in early May. For the most part we were pleased with the unit. The interior is nicely done, comfortable, and clean. It was great having a washer/dryer in the unit. There is good natural light in the kitchen (though the main sitting area is pretty dark). The setting is very quiet, across from a vineyard and up a driveway. There is a long-term tenant on the property in another building and the owner lives upstairs from the VRBO unit, but the setting still felt reasonably private. The long-term tenant is the chef at Dry Creek Kitchen and was very personable. We spent many mornings and evenings watching his chickens cluck their way around the grounds. Our primary point of contention with the unit is that it's advertised as having air-conditioner but it doesn't have it. We've visited this area twice before and it's always been quite hot. This visit was no different. It was 90 degrees every day. It turned out that because the unit is at ground/basement level it stays reasonably cool even on very hot days. But that's not the point. When we find a VRBO that looks good we always check to make sure it has A/C. If it doesn't, we don't rent it, no matter how wonderful it looks. It's personal preference. We feel it's somewhat deceptive to list the unit as having A/C when it doesn't even if it has its own natural ability to stay cool.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.
Owner response: We appreciate our guests taking time for reviews. We are happy you were pleased with the unit and enjoyed your stay. This ground floor vacation rental does not need A/C as it stays temperate in on the warmest Sonoma County Summer days. This guest was advised in advance of no A/C. An A/C posting was in error and has since been corrected.
