Second time to Papakea. Love the resort and what it offers. New unit to us but absolutely no disappointment at all. Thanks for having all the family toys for the kids especially the bunk beds, might have been the highlite for our 8 year old. Loved the groundfloor convenience for the kids to play on the grass just outside the back door and as always great whale sightings! Nice, modern features through-out the unit. The Currie's (Whitehorse, Yukon)

I just wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed staying in your unit at Papakea. It was just right for the four of us and worked out perfectly. I have to tell you that we liked your remodeled shower too (it was our year to stay in the master suite). We are in the middle of remodeling our own home and I'm always on the look out for new ideas. Thanks for a great stay. The condo was well appointed and perfect for a family with young children. Thank you for keeping some of the basics on hand (Games, Highchair, Pack & Play, etc). Our family had a great time in this condo. Whenever buying or leasing something from the internet, I tend to be cautious. This unit and complex are as advertised. The unit is very close to waters edge and being on the bottom floor, you can walk right out to the lanai and even enjoy the water from inside the unit. Being the early riser in my group, reading in the morning in the shade on the lawn listening to the ocean, just plain relaxing. The unit itself is well layed out with privacy for both couples. The rain shower head in the master bath was the best I have ever used. It was great after time at the ocean or pool. The resort itself had a very nice intimate feel to it. While the complex is not new it is well kept. There is no bar or restaurant but it was just the way we like it. People seemed to get on Hawaiian time quickly and were very friendly. While we spent time touring other parts of the Island we had a good mix of down time and touring. Lahaina is within a 15 minute drive. The owner was very helpful and concerned that we had all of the information necessary. Two thumbs up from us. Aloha

Back for the second year in a row and as usual we enjoyed our stay at Papakea. Your rental provides everything one needs and the sunsets and whales were a bonus. If you are headed to Haleakala, a trip to the Hali'imaile General Store is well worth it. The food is excellent! Thank you!

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful condo. We saw whales, turtles and dolphins without leaving the resort. Wonderful place for our family (2 kids, ages 4 and 6). Cinque Polynesia was wowing and the keiki kids hula show at the Cannery was fun for our kids. We willmiss the spectacular sunsets from the lanai. Mahalo!

We stayed in this condo Feb 20-26 2011 and were very pleased. The listing is accurate and the photos accurately reflect the appearance and amenities. The property was clean and well-maintained. The owner was very responsive and helpful. We would definitely recommend this condo to others. The Papakea resort is quiet with two nice pools and less crowding than the resorts next door. The Papakea resort is great for families with younger children. The condo is ocean front and there is a small stretch of sand about 50 feet long and 10-30 feet wide to sit. The onsite Expedia team are helpful and will book you activities with good, local vendors who are eager to please. Groceries can be obtained at the Times Market just across the street and about 7 minutes walk from the condo. The Times Market prices are reasonable for staples and things like detergent, toiletries carry a 10-30% premium. We really did like the condo's ocean front, ground-level location as it does not have that claustrophobic feel of the bigger resort hotels. If you do want things like pool-side meals and drinks with bar service, Papakea is not really large enough for that and that, in our opinion is a plus. So, great location, great property and highly recommended.

We loved the master shower and all of the lighting and clever little "extras" throughout. S is a civil engineer and is convinced that you must be an electrical engineer. We had a blast in Hawaii and got such a kick out of the whales. We loved your little "library" and took the Road to Hana book with us when we traveled there. The Whale Fact Book was also a hit. The condo we rented was nicely refinished. The beds were very comfortable, even the Murphy bed. The location on ground floor was awesome ,as it gave you easy acsess to the beach. My kids loved it. The condo was also well equipped with everything you might need. Over all great ocean front condo to rent.

Hi Tina: We loved staying in your condo at Papakea. It was my 4th time staying at Papakea and your condo was really the best -- especially the wonderful ocean-front, ground-floor location. I loved having my coffee in the morning and my wine in the evening sitting outside watching the incredible views. We even met "Stubby" the cat and she was at our door every morning to greet us. (It may have had something to do with the kitty food we gave her.) The kitchen was beautiful and so well equiped. We cooked several dinners and it was a breeze with everything you had available (good knives, plenty of glasses, silverware, bowls, etc.). I hope that I'll be able to return to Maui again in the not-too-distant future and I would love to stay in your unit again. Thanks so much for sharing it with us. RB
