  When we arrived at our Montauk house we immediately realized we were in a special place. The layout and amenities were exactly as described in the listing, it was clean and the open space was enourmous allowing our party of 10 plenty of room no matter where we chose to be in the house. A special advantage was having a beautiful bathroom in every bedroom! The bathrooms were tiled w/granite surfaces on the vanity as well as in the kitchen. It was clear this house was built with no holding back on cutting corners. The same held true with all the kitchen appliances and the washer/dryer. Pehaps the best part of this house is the owner. We had to contact the owner with a few questions. In minutes he returned our calls and was most accomodating in every way. While the children enjoyed the pool, our fire and smores on the private beach (only a short walk from the house) was a huge hit. The highlight of the trip the children most enjoyed was getting up for a sunrise at the lighthouse and the same evening seeing the sunset at Gosman's dock. We have the most wonderful time and will certainly consider this property again for the future.

  My husband and I stayed for the entire month of July in this beautiful home with our 9 month old son. We had a revolving door of friends and family come through the house every week, and it was an epic experience for everyone. The pool was a huge hit, and the gorgeous private beach that is less than five minutes away by foot really made it special. We watched July 4th fireworks on the beach with other families eating s'mores around bonfires. Really wonderful. The home is new but has a lived in vibe, which is perfect for kids. The owner graciously put up a gate around the pool to protect the little ones from falling in. And he was always available for questions about the lawn and pool cleaning services, even trash and recycling questions. The kitchen is enormous, although the cooking utensils leave something to be desired (probably because it has only been inhabited by renters). 'Foodies' will appreciate the lobster pot and corn plates but not the cooking and baking pans - we bought some inexpensive things in town that we took back with us. All the beds were comfy, and there were plenty of extra pillows, sheets and towels to go around. There is also a great place to rent cribs and high chairs, etc. called Hamptons Baby Gear. We fell in love with Montauk (I miss it as I write this!), and we will be sure to stay at Don's home again when we come back.

  For almost 10 years, our family has taken its summer vacation in Montauk....we just love it out there. Kids, Parents, Grandparents....you name it. And each year we have tried the local Inns, Hotels and Clubs, but never thought about renting a house for the week....and each year we seem disappointed by something or other. Well not anymore..this house is beautiful! It's new, extremely clean, very big & roomy for everyone ( we found this out on the 1 day it rained during our week......TV in the den, Connect Four in another room and kids napping someplace upstairs!) and in a perfect location near town. Its only 2/10 of a mile ( 3 min) walk to the private beach, the lawn is big enough for countless games of Wiffle Ball and of course a beautiful, heated in-the-ground pool. Bottomline - It has everything you could possible need for a perfect vacation. But what's most important here...are the owners.....what a great / stress-free experience they made it. They are local people and are available on cell / blkberry all the time. Any question / concern I had during my stay....I shot them a quick email and had my answer back very quickly....that personal touch is key to me, especially when you're on vacation with your family. They are more than fair and very accommodating.... As you can see, I cannot say enough about the house and homeowners...just a tremendous experience. Very happy...can't wait to go back next year.....

  My husband and I just returned from a fun week with friends at this beautiful house in Montauk. The house is in a great location (in between town and Gurney's Inn) and walking distance to the private beach. The house was exceptionally clean and very comfortable. The spacious lay out is great for entertaining. There is 5 bedrooms and each has its own full bathroom. Sheets, pillows, blankets and towels were plentiful and there is a washer/dryer. We really enjoyed using the heated built in pool and spacious backyard - which had a BBQ, patio set and lounge chairs. For those who love to cook the kitchen is great! Its large enough for friends to hang out and chat while you cook and the appliances are brand new. (*One recommendation bring your own knives) The description the owner gave was accurate and he provided excellent customer service. I would definitely recommend staying at this house. We are already planning a trip back next year.

  We had a great time. The house was beautiful and we had a young child with us and she had a great time as well. The beach was private and quiet. There were 6 adults and 1 child. And there was plenty of room for everyone.

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers.
