Great Place!!!!

Loved this place! Actually asked the owner if it was for sale as we are looking for a vacation home. Spent most of our time poolside. Kids loved the waterfall. We ate and grilled outside most of the time. The other nights we enjoyed fresh seafood and Puerto Rican food ate local resteraunts nearby. The area is so fun and the locals are so friendly. We didnt know a word of Spanish yet had no problems communicating during our whole stay. The owner and his assistant Megan greeted us at the house and were so nice and helpful. The maintenance staff were so friendly and we enjoyed joking around with Pablo when he came to clean the pool. Oh and there are iguanas running around that love for you to feed them! The kids had a ball with that. The house is exactly like you see on the website and best of all immaculate! AC great, tv and wifi all good but the selling factor is the yard at this place. Right on a bay and just lush. We really felt like we were lost on a tropical island. We are planning to return for the holidays with more family members as the house can accommodate so many. Thanks to the lovely island and its friendly people we had a great time. See you all again soon!!!!
Owner response:On behalf of Gonzalez Realty staff we thank you for your stay with us and look forward to future visits.

We absolutely loved this place! what a great time we all had. we were very interested in sightseeing and this was so close to Old San Juan as well as the rainforest! I would reccommend all to visit both. The house was well kept and we had everything we needed. Adored the pool and jacuzzi and spent most of my time in them at the house. The yard is awesome, we grilled out every night and had cocktails by the outside bar. It was so convenient to have a fridge and grill outside as well as an equipped kitchen..we stayed out to beautiful to be inside. There is fresh fruit falling right from the trees. The staff as well as the owner Gabriel are all so friendly and helpful. They told us about several places to checkout and we had one of our best meals right around the corner from the house at a resteraunt right on the Carribean! Fantastic fresh seafood!! We actually met one of the fisherman who was bringing in his catch and bought him a beer! We overall had a fantastic vacation and I will definitley be staying here again. Thanks for the great stay!
Owner response:On behalf of Gonzalez Realty we thank you for yor stay with us and hope to have you back agin for future visits!

I would like to start by saying Gabriel and Megan are fantastic hosts and very accommodating! My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The view at sunset is breathtaking and we enjoyed watching it with our cocktails. The pool with its waterfall and the jacuzzi are brand new and we got so much use and enjoyment out of them. The house is immaculate and well kept. The air conditioning in the bedrooms was ice cold and the beds very comfortable. We used the HD flatscreen and wifi often. The best thing about this property I would have to say is the tranquil yard full of lush foliage and we enjoyed fresh mangos daily! The best we had ever eaten. We enjoyed BBQs outside several times. There are tropical birds and iguanas wandering the property and they love when you toss them a mango! It was also conveniently located to so many local resteraunts and taverns a swell as a mall and movie theatre. I would reccommend this property to anyone it was truly a stay in paradise and we will definitely be returning and have family members whom have already reserved their vacations there. I cant wait until next year! Thanks again to Gabriel and all his staff.

Although we paid for 8 nights, my husband and I left after just one. Several times during the night, the TV started blaring from the living room while we were sleeping. We were the only occupants. During one of the trips to turn it off at 3AM, I slipped and took a bad fall in a pool of water formed due to faulty plumbing. I had to go to the hospital in Ponce for x-rays. This cost over $800- below our $1,000 insurance deductible. Megan- the assistant was helpful by quickly informing me that MY insurance would "definitely" pay for such emergencies- a lame attempt to justify not doing a thing to help us financially, much less offer any refund. All used toilet paper was put in the trashcan as instructed, so we can’t be blamed for the plumbing issues as demonstrated in a former complaint. Also, it’s simply a lie that, “here on the island toilet paper can not be disposed of in the toilet.” We've been staying in hotels all week without a problem flushing used toilet paper. Gabriel put Megan in charge to do his dirty work. His excuse during the one returned call to my husband was that he was “busy in court.” The only amend Megan (the assistant) was instructed to offer us was a place to stay at another rental property "during our next trip to Puerto Rico”. After this week, we won't be able to afford another vacation for quite some time. We were promised this pathetic "compromise" in writing within the hour- 6 days later now and we've yet to receive anything. This property looks great on the outside and the backyard is exactly what you get except the Jacuzzi barely gets lukewarm. The picture with chairs on the shore is definitely deceptive. Even though the water is claimed safe by Gabriel, it is not. We actually saw human feces and a condom float by while sitting on the small pier. Attempts were made to correct some of the problems written in previous reviews (which had been posted after I rented): The “closet” is a tension rod that couldn’t support much weight. The opening from the 2nd bathroom to the other bedroom, (just one, not 2 as claimed) was “fixed” by nailing 2x4’s haphazardly over the opening. There are still only 3 mugs, no dresser and a meager 3 towels were left for our use. The loud music blaring from the neighbors didn’t stop until well after midnight and began again by 8AM. Gabriel made it clear he feels no responsibility whatsoever. This unscrupulous man has our hard earned money.
Owner response: Our customers are very well aware of our excellent reputation and history of outstanding customer service. We are confident in the fact that our customers will recognize that there are unscrupulous people whom for reasons we cannot understand dedicate themselves to lying and causing harm to others for no reason. THIS IS A FRAUDULENT AND COMPLETELY FABRICATED REVIEW!!!

Oh this one will be so easy---we had a fantastic time there--the house is a little rustic but so very clean. The pool with the waterfall was so beautiful and the hot tub was great-- 1st thing in the morning and last thing at night-- the outside bar with the TV and the full kitchen with stove/oven -a gas and charcoal grill- a frig and sink- outside was great -I cooked all our meals out there The mango tree was forever giving us wonderful mangos and the best of all were the iguanas - we would feed them the mangos that hit the ground (we eat the ones we got from the tree) The iguanas came every morning for their brunch. Megan and Gabriel were so helpful with telling us where to go to eat and sightsee and also the grocery stores. If we needed something all we had to do was call Megan and she would have Gabriel come out and take care of it. I will tell all my friends to stay there and I will be going back.
Owner response:It was a pleasure to have you stay with us. We look forward to future visits. Take care! Gabriel & Megan

Not as advertised.

BEWARE! Not as advertised. Let’s start with the bedrooms: There is one bedroom with two queen beds. The other bedroom is advertised as two but is actually one oddly shaped room with a divider and all beds are bunk beds. The bathroom in the hallway has a window without a glass window that is open to the bedroom that sleeps 8 so there is no privacy in the bathroom or bedroom. We had to purchase a plunger and plumbing “snake” and use it about 4 times during our week stay even when following the rule not to flush toilet paper. The outdoor toilet was not usable and the outdoor shower had used mens underware hanging on it. The stove in the kitchen had one burner that was not working and another that produced minimal heat. The coffee maker was missing a piece and had moldy coffee grounds left inside. Although advertising a home that sleeps 14 there were only 3 coffee mugs, about 6 plates, and utensils for 8. We had to purchase a kitchen knife for preparing food. The dish towels were used and stuffed in a drawer. Although the AC worked well in the two bedrooms there is no AC in the kitchen or living room. There are no beach chairs, no beach towels. There are 4 garden chairs. On the first night we recognized that the Jacuzzi heat was not working and we called but no one came for 4 days. The guided tour by boat equals being dropped off at a local ferry. Although advertised under “Location Type: Beach” that is not true. The closest beach is almost 30 minutes away and although the water is beautiful the beach is dirty. We found we had to drive 1-1 ½ hrs to an adequate beach. The private bar was stocked with two empty bottles of rum, an open bottle of red wine and melon liqueur. The clothes dryer didn’t work. There is no safe, laundry soap, mosquito magnets, shampoo, soap, dish soap, bottled water. Other items we had to restock during the stay were toilet paper and paper towels. We did not have internet access. In general we found the house to not be clean.
Owner response:We are sorry to learn that you were not completely satisfied with our rental property. We are proud to say we have years of experience with satisfied guests at our rental properties. Unfortunately, at times items are removed from our properties from past guests. When you informed us of this, replacement items were purchased and delivered to you. As for the plumbing, the toilet was in working condition upon your arrival. as explained, here on the island toilet paper can not be disposed of in the toilet. When we learned of the problem a plumber was sent to the house and we were unaware of further difficulties after that. Had we been aware the plumber would have been sent to the house again. This home is advertised as a waterfront property very clearly on our websites, we do NOT advertise it as a beachfront property as we are in the bay. It;s true that the nearest beaches are 15-20 minutes by car and we always make that clear to our guests when asked. Many of our guests still choose to swim in the ocean at the house and that is fine as the water is clean and safe, but we do not state that there is a beach at the house anywhere in our advertising. As for the private bar, that is usually closed unless rented for an additional cost.If it was open it was to allow you access and convenience to make drinks there and use the freezer/fridge. This is crystal clear on our website. We do not provide a stocked bar to our guests. That must be purchased separately as to be expected. The internet and cable on that property are and have been working properly so we are unsure why your computer would not pick up internet. We have not received any further complaints regarding the internet before or since then either. Our website also details the sleeping areas and what types of beds can be found and we regret if these accommodations were not suitable for your needs, but again these accommodations are detailed on our websites As for the tour, yes you were brought to the marina where a Captain was to conduct the tour to the island. It is my understanding that your group chose not to go on the tour. Had you taken the tour to the private island you would have enjoyed one of the most beautiful private island beaches Puerto Rico has to offer. We cannot be faulted that you chose not go. We always srtive to provide comfort and convenience for all of our guests at affordable rates and we will continue to do so as we also continue to look for ways of improving our properties.

Let me start by saying that the owner and his assistant were very helpful hosts. There is beautiful flora and fauna (mango, coconut, banana and papaya) and the property is spacious. Iguanas come drink from the pool. That said the house is VERY minimally appointed. There is really only one nice bedroom and two bunk rooms that are separated by a partial wall. There was not even anywhere to put your stuff on, nothing at all in the rooms but beds. The kitchen/living area had just barely enough to function, and the wi-fi didn't work when we were there. You also can't flush toilet paper and have to collect it in the trash. The yard and "beach" are gravel and I would definitely not swim in that bay, raw sewage looks like it runs out into it. The owner did get us out on a boat ride to a very beautiful island in Salinas to swim at a nice beach. The outdoor kitchen and bar were really great and there was plenty of room for kids to run around. Having the pool and jacuzzi really made the property, they were nice and new looking. You are right in the barrio and it is a drive to a restaurant. There is also livestock kept by the neighbors which you can smell and hear when it is still. Great place if you don't want to see any other tourists. I think it is really meant to be a house to rent and have big parties then a family vacation house.
Owner response:Thank you for your stay at Bahia house. It is very important to mention that closets and drawers in 2 rooms at that time were being replaced. Our kitchen has the basics to be functional, pans, dishes, microwave oven, coffee maker, stove, fridge, freezer, utensils and everything is working. The wi fi has always been working. Toilet paper is not released to the toilet as part of our rules, its thrown away. This is common for most places on the island.Garbage is collected every Tuesday and our tenants are told this. We are located across a bay not a beach, as our name implies, the beaches are only a few minutes by boat or car and we offer transportation services as well. Jobos Bay is a protected reserve by the federal government and is free from any contamination, the water is crystal clear and even luminescent. Greetings from Gabriel and staff. We strive to keep improving.

This place is amazing! If you are looking for a comfortable place to call home, you will find just that. When we came out by the pool and looked around we were so thrilled that we had chosen this house! There is a huge mango tree full of luscious fruit that gave us 3-4 mangoes a day. The swimming pool and jacuzzi are kept very nicely, as is all of the property. You are right on the water here, with a great dock and seating area for fishing, swimming or just watching the dolphin, birds and fish. We spent most of our time outdoors, even during a few of the rain showers, we played dominoes under the large picnic table umbrella and stayed dry. The owner is very accommodating, we so enjoyed the ferry ride and day of fun on the islands! The home has very comfortable beds and linens, we slept very soundly. Most of our meals we grilled at the outdoor kitchen, great having an extra fridge outside! There is a supermarket close by and you are near the major roads and many sight seeing opportunities. We are already planning another trip to Puerto Rico and would be very happy to stay again at the Bahia House. Thank you Gabriel, we loved meeting you and renting the Bahia House. Extra special thanks to your assistant, Megan, she is an asset to your business and a pleasure to deal with. Hands down, this was a fantastic vacation at a fantastic location! Looking forward to seeing you next year! Kindest regards, Shawna and Bill

My wife and I had a wonderful time at the Bahia House. Gabby and Megan Maria provided excellent customer service. The swimming pool and hot tub were very new and really relaxing. The grounds of the Villa were beautiful and well maintained and very private. The Villa itself was comfortable but basic. It was a great value compared to other rentals we have enjoyed in the Carribean. The boat trip to the offshore island was a lot of fun. Everyone we met in Puerto Rico were very nice and helpful. If you stay here, be sure to go to the Fishing restaurant. Also, we enjoyed oiur trip to Ponce and the restaurants there on the beach.
