Nested in the Lush surroundings of the Blue Ridge Mtns, this stunning single family cabin offers all the comforts of your own home combined with the beauty and serenity of the Blue Ridge Mountains. This comfortable Cabin is secluded yet very close to shopping, restaurants and attractions. It has easy access even in the winter. This cabin is only 2 miles from ski sugar.
It features beautiful cherry wood floors, large family room with gas log fireplace and 37" LCD TV and a pond/waterfall in front stocked with several different kinds of fish. No fishing however but you are welcome to feed the fish while you are here. You will enjoy our 15 pound catfish Leroy. Relax in the outdoor hot tub after a hard day of skiing or hiking. Sit on the deck and enjoy the sights and sounds of the pond.
It’s beautifully maintained and comfortable for up to 8 people. Although you will feel totally secluded, you will be within 1-3 miles of numerous restaurants, shopping, and scenic drives. Ski Beech, Ski Sugar, and Hawksnest are just minutes away.

Thank you for visiting our cabin on VRBO. We are the Rigdons, Matt, Sara, Katie and Connor. We own and personally take care of 4 vacation cabins here in the beautiful blue ridge mountains of NC. Matt also is owner and operator of a small excavating company. Sara works part time as a home health nurse and basketball coach. Katie is 13 years old and is our basketball star. Connor is 8 years old and is our miracle baby. You can read his story in our cabin. He loves to learn, play the piano and jump on the trampoline.
Why the Owner Chose Banner Elk
In 2003 Matt who is a very ambitious person decided he wanted to build a log cabin. So with no previous experience he tackled the task. In the summer of 2005 he finally finished it. Then Sara decided it turned out so good that she wanted to use it as a vacation home for others to enjoy here in the mountains. Since then we have built 2 more and remodeled a 4th for vacations rentals. This cabin was recently remodeled in August 2009. We named it "Mtn Memories" cabin because this used to be our family home for 12 years.
The Unique Benefits of this Cabin
The location of our cabin is perfect any time of the year. You will enjoy snow skiing, tubing and sledding in the winter. In the summer it is a perfect climate with temperatures in the low 70's to 80. You can visit Grandfather Mtn (mile high swinging bridge), Linville Falls, go hiking, biking, fishing, golfing, white water rafting and Zip Line tours. Kids will also love Tweetsie Railroad. Take a scenic drive on the blue ridge parkway.
