We built this vacation home in 1999 and have enjoyed many happy summers here as well as some winter parties and activities. Now that our kids are grown up, it is time to let others enjoy this beautiful property and area as well.
Sturbridge is equidistant from the capitals of Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut. It enjoys easy access to the Mass Turnpike and is only 2 1/2 hours to New York City. Sturbridge is a historic town best known for Old Sturbridge Village. This major attraction which hosts visitors from around the world recreates American life in 1830's New England. Many fine antique shops and restaurants have located in the area as well as the famous Brimfield Antique Show. These many attractions make this a fine area to visit and a great base for visitors to New England.
The house is located directly on Lake Quacumquasit in Sturbridge. There is access by boat to Quaboag Pond and 7 mile river. The lake is renowned for its bass fishing as well as water sports of all types. We have a floating dock in season.
The house is decorated in a high quality with period furniture and fittings, including Italian tile, marble and hardwood floors. The house is in new condition throughout as it has never been lived in on a permanent basis. It is fully air conditioned and heated and the open plan layout, with large screened in porch, just lends itself to good times. Upstairs has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The basement comprises a large den (for the kids) complete with computer, TV and pull out sofas, and another full bathroom. There are large wrap around decks, all in solid mahogany.
