Nature lovers are welcome to this charming one-bedroom cottage in a quiet, secluded area on the Hillsborough river. The 1.4 acre property is a beautiful slice of Old Florida with grandfather oaks draped in Spanish moss, azaleas, pink grapefruit and tangerine trees.

Adjacent to conservation area and across the wide river from a rookery for ibis, egrets and herons, the cottage is less than a hundred yards from Rogers Park Golf Course (see golf course link below). A boat ramp provides access for fishing and ski boats, kayaks and canoes. See hawks, owls, alligators, anhingas, limpkins, spoonbills, and swallowtail kites.

    • I wanted to find a place where I could be alone to think and meditate for a week. This place was perfect! As I'm facing the cottage, to the left of me is a golf course, behind the cottage is a state park, and to the right is the Hillsborough River. There are very large mature tress on the property that also remind me that I'm not in the city, and yet if I wanted to, it would be a very short drive to get to the tall buildings and busy streets. And even closer was Busch Gardnens. But of course, that's not why I was there. Inside the cottage, it was comfortable and cool, thanks to the AC. All the amenities were there, and then some, like a nice selection of DVDs and VHS tapes. The kitchen had everything I needed to prepare my own meals. This was important because I wanted to save money by not having to go out to eat. Which brings me to the price...it's a great bargain. I think I got a lot more than I paid for in terms of beauty and comfort, as well as in convenience.
