Marion's flowers and herbs brighten the morning light on our deck
Location: Kodiak, Alaska, USA (Located .5 Mile from Downtown Kodiak.) View Map
Accommodations: Apartment, 3 Bedrooms + Attached Unit, 1.5+ Baths (Sleeps 6)
Keywords: Apartment Suite
Located in a quiet neighborhood (with the ocean on one side and trees and city park on the other) our property overlooks the entrance channel to Kodiak's largest boat harbor ... home to many of the "Deadliest Catch" boats. Just minutes from downtown Kodiak, our home faces due south, you are blessed with spectacular views of the ocean. Relax with a cup of tea and watch the sun or moon rise; boats cruise by - along with sea otters, eagles, sea lions--even leaping salmon.
The property is surrounded by vegetable and flower gardens, including the elusive Himalayan blue poppy. Throughout our home, you'll discover many examples of Marion's artwork, including photographs (printed on canvas) and mosaic pieces. It's not unusual to hear bald eagles "screeching" nearby or "exhale puffs" from sea lions, humpback whales or killer whales as they swim by.
The apartment suite has a private entrance and consists of 3 bedrooms: A queen bedroom and 2 rooms with two single beds in the rooms. The rooms with single beds also have a nice vanity area. The color scheme is natural and inviting, and each room is decorated with a custom painted mural. The rooms have access to a common lounge and dining area and a completely stocked kitchen-- this is where you'll find our homemade granola. We're happy to share the recipe. (Many guests say it's the best they've ever had. It makes a great gift, by the way.)
The shower, sink/washroom and toilet are all conveniently located in separate rooms. This apartment suite is an ideal arrangement for independent travelers, business folks, family vacationers or groups. (We also have a deluxe guest room available for rent).
We invite you to visit Kodiak's Cliff House B&B: Renew where nature meets hospitality.

Why the Owner Chose Kodiak
Though Alaska is the largest state in the U.S., when it comes to friendly and helpful people, it's the smallest, in that you are part of an extended family no matter where you go. That said, we love Kodiak Island and enjoy living by the ocean. So after waiting 38 years for this property, we built our home with guests' needs in mind: Pleasant views through big windows, peace and quiet, great food .. .renew where nature meets hospitality.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment

My wife and I do not normally stay in B&B's. Comfort and privacy, and alergy to feathers usually means we try to stay in nicer hotels. We were traveling with 2 other couples and the Cliff House B&B was highly recommended by the great folks at Sea Hawk Air. We took a chance and were very glad we did. Super clean rooms, privacy for all six of us, great granola, fresh baked cookies and muffins, fruit. Marion was extremely helpful. Made late dinner reservations, secured the only rental van on the island, and gave great tips on sites to see. Had a great time in Kodiak and will certainly go back and will certainly stay with Marion and Marty. Now our B&B issue will be to find one as great as this one!

A place to relax and catch your breath. Marion and Marty are lovely hosts and their spotless B&B is a perfect respite from the real world. Nancy and I agree that this one week spent on Kodiak Island was simply the most refreshing vacation we have ever taken. All the best to Marion and Marty, David & Nancy Stafford

We have had several opportunities to stay in the Owen's B&B in the last two years. We always feel welcome and the rooms are very comfortable and attractive. Marion keeps the refrigerator and cookie jar better stocked than we have seen at any other B&B. The views and gardens can't be beat. Their knowledge of the island has made our visits very entertaining. We look forward with keen anticipation to our next trip.

On our trip to Kodiak (August 2009) we had the pleasure of staying at Marion and Marty's B&B. The Cliffhouse turned out to be perfect for our needs. Marion and Marty are very knowledgeable when it comes to Kodiak's must see's and do's. The cliffhouse is beautiful and peaceful, along with our warm and friendly hosts, we give The Cliffhouse our highest recommendation, and we look forward to a return visit. Sincerely, Mara & John
