Great Mountain Home

Guest: Dan and Becky (Sheridan, Wyoming, USA)
Date of Stay: 09/24/11 Review Submitted: 10/04/11

We stayed at this mountain home during the last week of September and found it to be a great central location for day trips to Cedar Breaks, Bryce Canyon and Zion. After having stayed in quite a few vacation rentals, we felt this was the best equipped and best decorated home of any we have ever rented. The property was clean and well maintained, the beds were extremely comfortable and the kitchen was top notch. We were especially impressed with the overall house lighting system, the satellite TV and audio/video system. Relaxing in the large living room or on the spacious deck was a special treat after a day of sightseeing and hiking. We would definitely recommend this place in a heartbeat.

Second time round and counting

Date of Stay: 08/19/11 Review Submitted: 10/01/11

If your looking for a vacation home with good reviews you have come to the right place. This was our second visit to that 'Luxury Mountain Home Between Zion and Bryce Canyon' a very formal title indeed. This house really needs a name as once you have visited you will remember it with great affection and will want to refer to it in a more personal way. Our previous review says it all really and second time round was just as good, this house is fantastic it has everything that we needed, wanted and didn't even know we wanted. The quality of the furnishings, decor and equipment is outstanding. The pictures of this house on the web look great but believe me it's better, no misrepresentation here you will not be disappointed. The Location worked great for us Zion, Bryce is just as short drive away with many other wonderful places nearby. Lake navajo which is only 20 minutes away was a great place to spend anything from a couple of hours to a full day. Want a fully equipped kitchen ..... you got it, while we opted for the BBQ most of the time due to the fantastic weather but I suspect gourmet chef's would not feel short changed in this kitchen. You a probably thinking there must be some negatives, well if there are we can not find them, as a vacation home in an area we wanted to vacation in I really think there would not be a better alternative. If you choose to visit after your first nights stay and coffee on that wonderful deck in the morning you will know you chose wisely.

We just wanted you to know how much we appreciated staying in your beautiful, clean cabin. We spent 3 days at Bryce and the location was perfect. Zion was a little more difficult to get to, but that's the nature of the drive there! Your home had everything we needed to enjoy a restful stay. My daughters loved the chipmunks and we kept the hummingbirds fed. We've stayed at other homes in different states in the past, and this was the nicest. Perfect layout and wonderfully quiet at night.

Short but Sweet

Guest: Connecticut Family (Canton, Connecticut)
Date of Stay: 07/09/11 Review Submitted: 07/24/11

My family of six stayed at this Elk Ridge home for four days in mid-July 2011. The house is beautiful and so easy to simply "move-into." We were quite busy visiting Bryce Canyon, Zion, and the many slot canyons that are so very close. However, it was nice to come home after a long day of hiking to a comfortable, spacious, and solitude home such as this. There is great room downstairs for the kids to hang out and play games on a fun game table. The sunrises in the a.m. off the front porch were a great way to start our day. We were visited by many hummingbirds, birds and a mother mule deer and her two fawns. They were beautiful. The house is situated right off a rather busy route but you would not know it. It is set far enough back that the feeling of seclusion is not lost. Plus, the use of this heavily traveled route is your one and only path to some of the prettiest parks in the Southwest. There is a gas station 1/4 of a mile away with the usual rest stop fare. A fifteen minute trip in either direction will bring you to more stocked grocers. Please visit this home if you are ever in this part of Utah. We love to camp but sometimes it is nice to have a luxurious home to relax in after the hectic days of summer vacation.

Our Wonderful Utah Adventure!

Guest: Randi Brockway
Date of Stay: 07/02/11 Review Submitted: 07/23/11

No stone was left unturned in providing every possible comfort in this luxury cabin. From the gourmet kitchen to wonderful comfy beds, we had everything we needed for a wonderful week in Utah. The house is beautiful and Kim was a pleasure to work with. We enjoyed relaxing on the spacious front porch watching the hummingbirds and deer. We really loved the giant icemaker. So convenient. What a perfect location for driving to Bryce, Zion and the Grand Canyon. We even spent one day exploring sights locally on rented ATV's. We hope to always be as lucky w/ vacation rentals as we were with the Jacobs beautiful cabin!

Guest: Bob (Cary, NC USA)

The house was excellent. Topnotch appliances and amenities. Location was great for days trips to all the surrounding parks. We stayed a week and were able to do Bryce, Zion, Kodachrome basin, Cedar Breaks, etc. It was great to have a "home base" instead of motel hopping. I'd recommend it in a heartbeat.

Great Home, especially for those who love to cook

Guest: Roger and Gini (Saibnt Paul, MN)
Date of Stay: 06/15/11 Review Submitted: 06/19/11

Our family loves to prepare great meals on vacations and this vacation home was the best! Here is why. It has a great stove, excellent cookware and sharp knives, all the necessary measuring cups, spoons, graters, serving dishes, great views for 4 adults while preparing meals and great views of the outdoors from the dining room table. We even prepared a home-made birthday cake for my 68th birthday! The large kitchen, dining room and living room has high ceilings and lots of light which makes it a delightful place to spend the late afternoons after hiking. Our two grandsons loved the lower level game table and large screen TV. The layout of the three levels is superb (baby Kate had great afternoon naps in the Pack-n-Play on the upper-most level). Kim was great to work with and we were able to put all of our meats, vegetables and fruit in the refrigerator before actually checking in! This large, well built, and nicely furnished vacation home is about as good as it gets and at a great price and great location. We wish we could take it with us to the Grand Tetons next summer. Roger and Gini

Great Vacation Home

Guest: Katie R. (Waynesville, NC USA)
Date of Stay: 05/31/11 Review Submitted: 06/14/11

My husband and I and two of our friends just spent four days in this beautiful home. It was the prefect landing spot for us each day after hiking in Bryce Canyon, Zion, and Grand Canyon National Parks (all easily accessed from this locale). The setting was gorgeous with deer who visited us each morning, and the home itself was far and away the best vacation rental we've ever had. It was comfortable, beautifully decorated, and had a great kitchen with everything we needed to cook dinner in the evening (a real plus in my book). The steam shower in the master bedroom was an extra bonus - especially after a long day hiking! We hope to go back someday to this beautiful part of the country and stay in this perfect get-away home again.

The best vacation rental we have ever stayed in

Date of Stay: 05/07/11 Review Submitted: 06/15/11

We like to use vacation rental houses when we travel, as opposed to hotels. We have stayed in quite a few, and this one is the best. As the other reviews indicate, the house is loaded with amenities. I was especially impressed with the high-end audio/video system. The location is perfect for exploring the parks in the area, and the owners are attentive and responsive. We would stay here again without hesitation.

Epic

Guest: Jennifer S. (Vermont)
Date of Stay: 05/05/11 Review Submitted: 07/01/11

I travel out west from Vermont at least twice yearly and rent from VRBO about 96.3% of the time. This had to be one of... if not "thee" most wonderful of homes we have stayed in. Just so incredibly comfortable and stunning in every detail. The decks became an oasis, unfolding a nightly show of deer and various wildlife. Location was very ideal and it was only a short beautiful "ZOOM" to both Bryce and Zion. I usually do not stay in the same places twice but I find myself trying to plan my fall vacation around when this home is available. It was truly that big of an element that made my last western adventure so epic. Thank you for opening your home, you were a pleasure to deal with. :)

We drove up from Arizona to escape the heat and enjoy the mountain weather, ride dirt bikes & go fishing. We found this cabin online & decided to give it a try! It was even nicer than it seemed in the pictures. Morning coffee on the balcony was amazing with perfect views of fall foilage. I brought alot of my own cooking stuff, not knowing what the kitchen would come equiped with and was delighted to find next time I won't have to bring anything but groceries. The back patio, BBQ and firepit were amazing. I really enjoyed the steam shower too! Loved the trails, wildlife, views and weather! We can't to come back!

Peaceful fall season weekend holiday

Date of Stay: 10/09/10 Review Submitted: 10/27/10

Dear Kim, Thank you for your hospitality over Columbus Day weekend. Your cabin was lovely, and provided a welcome and homey atmosphere during our stay. The cabin has an amazing kitchen, which you have stocked remarkably well. We enjoyed that we were able to have homemade meals, and found working in the kitchen to be quite pleasant. The rest of the accommodations were also perfect for our weekend; not only were the bedroom and living room comfortable, but we found the location to be utterly peaceful. There was a great deal of wildlife just outside the door, and the view of the stars was amazing. We both thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your cabin. We both look forward to a chance to visit again in the future. Kind Regards, Danielle & Tom

Immaculate, Beautiful Home Near Many Attractions- Including Bryce and Zion

Guest: Christine (Denver)
Date of Stay: 09/27/10 Review Submitted: 01/19/11

We rented this beautiful home for seven nights to visit both Bryce and Zion National Parks, as well as, do a lot of hiking and mountain biking. Bryce and and Zion were phenomenal and are a must see. This home is conveniently located between the two parks and is in a beautiful area, close to many hiking and biking trails outside the National Parks. We absolutely loved this home and wished it was our own. This home has all of the upgrades, is beautifully decorated, and is very, very clean. It felt like home and we didn't want to leave. Additionally, the owners were very helpful and delightful to work with.

September 11 - 18, 2010 Vacation

Guest: James (Greenwell Springs, Louisiana)
Date of Stay: 09/11/10 Review Submitted: 09/21/10

We were on vacation September 11 to 18, 2010. Our home base was the Cabin owned by the Jacob's Family. You could not ask for a better location for visiting the Utah and Arizona National and State Parks. We visited Zion Natonal Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, North Rim Grand Canyon, Capitol Reef National Park, Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument, Coral Pink Sand Dunes and other sites close by. All of these are within a days drive. The Cabin is furnished with the best of everything you could ever want for a relaxing and comfortable stay. There is plenty of wildlife to observe close to the cabin. Such as deer, turkeys, squirrels, chip monks and rabbits. We heard the beautiful sound of the Elk's buggling early in the morning. This was our first stay with the Jacob's Family, but will not be our last. We are looking forward to our next visit. James & Phyllis Smith, Greenwell Springs Louisiana

Wonderful vacation rental experience.

Guest: Jim (Roseville, CA)
Date of Stay: 08/14/10 Review Submitted: 10/05/10

We stayed here for a week in mid August and had a great time. The home is better than described in the listing. It is very spacious with loads of modern amenities. We especially loved the ice machine in the kitchen! Since it was very hot during our stay, it was nice to be able to fill our coolers with ice before our day trips to the National Parks and Monuments nearby. It took a day or two to figure out how to regulate the volume of the deck and patio speakers (volume knobs on wall next to doors), and the myriad of lighting options in all the rooms, but after that it was easy. We loved the shower in the master bathroom with it's 3 shower heads (fantastic), and relaxing on the front deck in the evenings, viewing the wildlife and the amazing sunsets! With it's 5 acre property it has lots of privacy without being too remote. We would definitely recommend this home to anyone seeking a rental vacation home in this area.

Great place to vacation

Guest: Mike & Di (UK)
Date of Stay: 07/10/10 Review Submitted: 08/13/10

Stumbled across this vacation rental while considering our holiday options, living in the UK we are not experts in the US vacation rental market but the online listing looked good and after some productive email exchanges with Kim we decided to go for it. This house and location turned out to be just what we had hoped for and exceeded our expectations by some margin. The house, furnishings and equipment (of which there is a lot) were all first class and of real quality and in our opinion surpass the web representation. On arrival everything was in good order and very clean and tidy. Our visit was in July and the climate was just about perfect after a couple of days in the Vegas heat. Kim and Chester are very nice people and their house gave us a memorable vacation experience. Would we visit again, yes and probably will.

Combine a great location, a beautiful cabin, and always helpful hosts, and you get a national parks vacation that's hard to beat!! Strategically located between Zion, Bryce, and the Grand Canyon, the beautiful cabin is just the place to fully relax after a long day of touring with the family. And when we needed nearby locations to spend fun time outside the big parks our hostess/owner Kim was ready with half a dozen interesting areas for us to see in half day trips. An excellent choice for us, and we will return.

This house is spectacular! Loaded to the hilt. One of the nicest homes we have stayed in. We used house as a stepping off point for Zion NP, Bryce Canyon NP, Cedar Breaks NM, and Glenn Canyon. Beautiful area to stay in. Enjoyed all the extras such as ice maker, trash compacter, steam shower, etc. House was spotless. Highly recomended to stay here. You will not be dissappointed.
