Ocean Song is a quaint cottage surrounded by a lush and vibrant yard on a quiet lane that leads directly to the beach. Safe, quiet neighborhood with local fishermen, locals' bar/restaurant and shopping nearby.
Location is ideal for taking a walk in the surrounding bush and neighborhood (maybe you'll spot a mongoose!), or taking a day trip to Dunns River Falls, Montego Bay or Ochos Rios. Can arrange pickup from Montego Bay airport--45 minute drive.
The cottage's three bedrooms each have an en-suite bathroom. The kitchen is ready for cooking, or you can ask Joan to prepare you an authentic Jamaican meal, or something more familiar if you prefer. Wooden shutters on screened windows surround the house, allowing the cool breezes to flow through.
Cost of rental includes housekeeping and cooking, excluding cost of groceries.
The beach is typically not very busy, though the quiet, Caribbean blue waters will keep you revisiting for dips throughout the day. Not a problem when your cottage is only 100 yards away! The surf is normally very calm and ideal for allowing children to play. The sea also provides an amazing selection of interesting seashells and opportunities to observe pockets of sea life as you walk along the shoreline.
A flat screen television, cable, DVD player, and video library can keep you entertained in the evenings. Or you can walk down to Fisherman's Beach (100 yards) for a Red Stripe beer at the local watering hole, Leroy's, and listen to some reggae music. There is also a takeout place there where you can get plates of fried fish or chicken. During the day, local craftsmen sell their unique handicrafts on Fisherman's Beach, or you may find a fisherman to bargain with for some of his fresh catch.

Rate Details (In US Dollars)
For 1-2 People - $120/night for the cottage; For 3-4 People - $150/night;
For 5-6 People - $180/night. 50% deposit due to make reservation, refundable up
to 90 days before reservation date. Other 50% due in cash upon arrival.
Included in the daily rate are the housekeeping services of
Joan. Joan will keep the cottage tidy, do laundry, grocery
shop, and cook meals. If guests are pleased with their stay,
it is customary to tip the housekeeper (15-20% cost of your
stay) at the end of your stay.

Why the Owner Chose Duncans
I really love to swim and I found the beach at Duncans Bay was absolutely ideal for swimming. The water is usually so calm and the temperature so welcoming, that I spend many hours a day swimming. Besides this, Jamaican people are very warm and welcoming. It was easy to imagine spending a lot of time with them. I also liked how convenient Ocean Song was to reach from the airport in Montego Bay.
The Unique Benefits of this Cottage
When you stay at Ocean Song, you are not in a gated community. You are part of a small community of homes. Jamaicans live in some; international visitors live and stay in others. The opportunity to experience Jamaican culture, rather than what's inside the walls of a resort, is part of what makes stays at Ocean Song so special. The beach is also very unique; there is very little development along it, it does not get too many visitors, and it is so picturesque!

Perfect Jamaican Vacation

Ocean Song is a great vacation getaway that is comfortable enough to feel like home with plenty of privacy, yet it has a Carribean atmosphere that feels like vacation. This cute villa is practically right on the beach making sunbathing and swimming easily accesible on a nice beach that isn't ever crowded. Leroy's is just around the corner giving you the option of getting out of the house to grab a beer or listen to reggae at night. My family loved the location. We walked to Duncan's to grab supplies at the store to cook for ourselves and took a taxi back to the villa. And when we didn't want to cook Joan was there to make delicious Jamaican food for us. It was such a great vacation and definitely recommend staying here to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway in a beautiful place!

I met some female family members for a Jamaican vacation. We were greeted with a home cooked meal, Joan did a wonderful job. She was amazing all week long. She made different authentic meals everyday. We were so relaxed and felt so comfortable all week. The shops next door were very unique and the people were very friendly. Then it was off to the Green Dolphin (Omar's) for a cold beer, great music and lots of dancing. The owner and locals were so welcoming to us. We had a great time and always felt safe. Our Jamaican experience was perfect from the time we got there until the time we left.

My husband and I had a very nice time at Ocean Song. Our housekeeper/cook, Joan, did a wonderful job feeding us local cuisine and keeping the house clean. She even helped us get into Falmouth by taxi by going with us. Being so close to the beach was perfect, the water was warm, the sand, soft. The local people and regular visitors were friendly and helpful. There were a few problems (cable TV needed reconnecting, no blender, and clarifying with Thelma that we wanted our cook daily), The house could use some minor cosmetic repairs and some new sheets, but overall we had a good experience. We would definitely consider staying at Ocean Song again.

Our stay at Ocean's Song was very enjoyable. We arrived at Montego Bay airport where James picked us up and took us to Ocean Song, it was a nice ride from the airport and didn't seem long at all. The Villa is exactly as the owner describes it, very clean and spacious with lots of room for us and our two teenage children. The beautiful landscaping was a pleasure to view while we had our morning coffee on the patio and in the evening when we were enjoying the night air. Joan our cook made wonderful meals of whatever we wanted she even made some special Jamaican dishes for us to try and they were very yummy, she also made sure our Villa was always clean and gave us lots of information of where to shop and things to avoid. The view from outside the gate was the ocean where during the day we would enjoy the waves and the sand. December is Jamiacan cold front so ocean was very wavey and we couldn't do alot of swimming or fishing, but we could still enjoy the warm weather and the company of the locals. In the evenings we would head over to Leroy's Bar on the beach were we met up with Sam and Duke who made the place feel alot like home. All the people are very freindly and make it a pleasure to stay at Duncan's Bay. We had taken a few day excursions to Montego Bay and Ochio Rios and Falmouth, but there was not enough time in our 7 days to take in all that Jamaica has to offer. We are planning another trip to Jamaica and we will be sure to stay at Ocean's Song. Thank you Rachael for letting us rent the Villa and making our 2010 Christmas one to remember.

I went to Jamaica march 2009 i stayed at Ocean Song for two weeks with my husband and my two daughters it was wonderful i enjoyed it.The house was always clean and Joan was very nice she is a good cooker and she is always ready to help.The next time i go back i will be going back to Ocean Song
