Vacation at Ellie’s Koloa House!
I’m Ellie and I have been providing affordable places to stay for vacationers on Kaua’i for the past 12 years. I invite you and your family to relax in my lovely 2 bedroom, 2 bath Hawaiiana style house located in the heart of historic Old Koloa Town. Ellie’s Koloa House is a 5-minute stroll to quaint shops and restaurants and only a few minutes drive to Poipu Beach Park or Shipwreck Beach.
Poipu Beach is famous for its sunny, mild weather and features some of the best snorkeling and swimming on the island, plus there is an area with protected waters suitable for families with small children. There are wonderful restaurants, boutique shopping and 2 golf courses in the Poipu area.
My charming, well-cared-for home boasts a beautiful seasonal tropical garden of plumeria, hibiscus, banana, papaya, ginger, ti, heliconia, avocado, lychee and an assortment of palms. There is an outside covered lanai with gas BBQ perfect for dining and relaxing.
Ellie’s Koloa House is conveniently located for exploring all of Kauai’s spectacular scenic wonders, beaches and numerous activities. Waimea Canyon is just 45 minutes to the west and the gorgeous North Shore is within an hours drive.
Please use VRBO, call me, email me or visit my website and use my easy form to discuss your upcoming holiday and answer any questions you might have. Please include your phone number. Also let me know the dates you are considering and the number in your party (adults/children). I am happy to put a courtesy hold on Ellie’s Koloa House while you explore your options.
If calling, please let me know your time zone since I live in Hawaii and we are 3-6 hours behind mainland hours.

We were looking for an authentic Hawaii getaway and we found it at Ellie's Koloa House! The outside living room is soooooo relaxing. It is close to Poipu beach and the best snorkeling! Ellie's warmth and charm is an added bonus! We treasured all of her knowledge of the island's best attractions and we loved the personal attention. If you want to shy away from large, impersonal hotels and get a great bargain, this is your vacation house. JaniceRecommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

What a wonderful time we had on Kauai. Staying here at Ellie’s Koloa House was perfect. We walked up to quaint Koloa town several times for fresh fish, Lappert’s coffee/ice cream, meals out and strolled in and out of art galleries. Great location so close to Poipu Beach yet just far enough away form the hustle and bustle of resort central. We will recommend this rental to our friends at home and hope to return next fall.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 6/6

Ellie we arrive from the depths of media, commercials, and political chaos, which defines California, to be greeted by your warm smile and Kauaian charm. What a relief and respite from all the left behind hustle and bustle of home. Your great directions and amps you drew us lead to so many unknown sandy beaches, waves, trails and sunsets that we would not have otherwise encountered. You are truly a blessing on this island paradise. We look forward to our next visit.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 4/4

What a terrific accommodation in Kauai. We had a lovely family stay with our two adult sons; a very special time together. Kauai is like being in the heart of the great mother-dynamic, healing, nurturing and mysterious. We will remember this special place. Thanks Ellie for your graciousness, humor and generosity. Aloha and blessings.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Dear Ellie mahalo for a wonderful stay. We felt right at home for one main reason being your warmth and kindness to our whole family. Thanks for the sweet reminders of enjoying and celebrating our children while they are young. What a great place to return to our own childhoods as we all caught toads together and shared memories at your charming tropical house near Poipu Beach.Did you find this review helpful?
