A great place for SNOWBIRDS! Carefree is a charming small town--perfect for walking with easy access to Tonto National Forest and its trails. Many golf courses are nearby and we have a tennis court, swimming pool and hot tub in our complex. Art galleries, wonderful shops and restaurants are just a 10 minute walk from our door. Cave Creek, another small town with lots of western atmosphere is also minutes west of us. There are many "cowboy" restaurants and lots of opportunity for hiking and horseback riding.
Our town home is part of a 25 unit complex. It is a friendly and attractive place set in the Sonoran Desert. This special home is furnished with southwestern style furniture to complement the sautillo tile on the entire first floor. The spacious entry welcomes you in. The kitchen, with its large window is fully equipped for your culinary experiences. The dining room and living room create a warm friendly southwest atmosphere with the gas fireplace and native American art adding to the charm.
The carpeted stairway leads to the upper level which includes 2 large bedroom suites each with 2 double beds, large dresser and comfortable chair and bookcase. A private bathroom and walk-in closet are also spacious. The south facing windows overlook the lovely desert landscape. The well-stocked linen closet is in the hallway.
We enjoy the patio off the dining room. It's a great way to greet the morning with breakfast or read a book in the afternoon.
The garage is attached and has an automatic door. Garbage collection is weekly. A dumpster is located nearby.
This is a special place. It is not a huge complex. It is a friendly neighborhood. We love it and are happy to share it this year when our plans are for us to be elsewhere.

Year Purchased: 1997
We bought this place after we retired. It has been a wonderful retreat from northern winters. A friend said, "I never figured you would be a "snowbird." I didn't either but my husband and I found that having a home in this sunny part of the world is great. We enjoy hiking and especially tennis right close by.
