We had the most awesome family vacation at this beach paradise. We've stayed on Manasota Key for years and this home is the perfect beach experience. We have 4 children ages 6 through 15 and it fit us perfectly. Plenty of space for everyone to be alone and have privacy that is needed and yet perfect to be together and enjoy moments away from the real world. The home was extremely clean and well stocked with lots of towels, glasses, plates, pots, utensils etc. The outdoor shower and bathtub and various hoses were extremely handy in getting our toes clean as well as rinsing off all of our beach toys, shark teeth and shells. The hot tub and hammocks provided a relaxing bonus. Manasota Key is a rustic real old Florida experience with turtles roaming around, sand dunes, and natural vegetation. This home is situated perfectly to enjoy this environment. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. We will definitely want to stay at this home again!Did you find this review helpful? We had a wonderful week at this home on Manasota Key. The beach is just steps from the back yard and the homeowners have everything needed to spend your days laying in the sun. The grounds of this home are perfectly set up with hammocks, outdoor shower, king sized bed, Bar Ba Que and plenty of seating. The sunsets are spectecular! The morning walks are private and serene and shark teeth are washed up on your feet! Most of the days we had the beach all to ourselves with the exception of a few neighbors and fisherman. The men fished with "Captain Dan" and caught a 30Ib Permit that fed the 7 of us for two nights! We did eat out a few nights, but all of our best meals and evenings were spent at the home. We had a great time renting Jet Skis in Englewood, Music at Sharkys on the Pier in Venice and shopping in Saratosa. The neighborhood is very quite, the beach is perfect, and the home is close to grocery shopping and dining. The home is stocked with beach towels, and the washer and dryer came in very handy! We are looking forward to visting again and making this a regular vacation spot!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

I have thought long and hard before writing this negative review. Our prior Home Away rentals have been fantastic and we list a place for rental in the Adirondacks. I believe we have a pretty good handle on both sides of the aisle as far as home rentals. The good thing is that this property is ideally located on the ocean. However, it is in need of serious repair and updating. Part of the property (an adjoining wing to the main home) is under construction. It was not an attractive sight. The toilets (and other plumbing) failed on Thansgiving Eve. The owners did return our cals the day after the holiday but were only mildly receptive to our plight. They offered no apology and no financial recompense even when they learned that our Thanskgiving dinner plans were marred by backed up sinks and unusable toilets. The neighbor who came and graciously bailed us out ( as well as the plumber who showed up at midnight and was there pumping the system out (loudly) until nearly 3 am) advised that it was not the first time that a rental had been upset by plumbing issues. The livingroom furniture was damp and smelled very musty. This may be due to a cracked wall where moisture and insects were entering the home. There was a lot of dust everywhere and a lot of junk in kitchen cabinets and the pantry. Unfortunately we were entertaining a client and her two teens that week. She was a good egg about the whole mess. Frankly, we were embarrassed. I would not recommend this property.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 7/7

My family and our friends stayed in this home for a week in August, and it was worth every minute of it! We set out for total relaxation...and we got it. We spent every day outdoors, and never ran out of anything to do. Just out the back door is a patio, hammocks, outdoor shower and a hot tub, not to mention the BEACH! Everything about the description of this house is accurate. The house was beautiful and retro and I can't wait to stay in it again. We brought groceries and stayed home most of the time. We never had any reason to leave, everything we needed was already there. However, town was only about 10-15 minutes away in case we had forgotten anything. I would definitely recommend this rental property to friends and family. In fact, I already have! Thanks so much William and Jenny!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had such a great time this year! Loved the house! My favorite part of the whole house is the outside shower. Everything we needed was here. We have been coming to Florida for years and this house is at my top 2. Very spacey and relaxing! Thank you Jenny and William for sharing your wonderful home!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children.

My family and I greatly enjoyed our stay at this house. The interior is just as nice as the exterior. This house is definitely made for outdoor living, and in the storage room there is everything you will need for a day at the beach. We had a plumbing problem while we were there, despite being in another state Jenny and William had a plumber there in less than an hour, great customer service. The flea market on 776 was the best place to find gifts. And we always have to eat at Geraldi's when we go to Manasota! But we mostly recommend getting some groceries and never leaving. We definitely recommend this property to our friends and family and can hopefully cure our homesickness for Manasota here again next year.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.
