Our rental unit is located at Rattanas Resort and is at present available for renting. Located in a 2 story, six unit newly constructed reinforced concrete building, designed and built to USA, International Building Code Standards, it is a very unique rental for this area.
Set in the foothills of the Ranong Mountain Range, the world famous Raksawarin Hot Springs is a 5 minute stroll from our unit. Known for its clear drinkable spring water with a temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit it is well known for its curative properties. People come from all over the world to soak in the free uncrowded public pools or luxuriate in the more sophisticated but affordable Siam Spa.
Rattana, born less than 1 kilometer from her resort, is extremely knowledgable about all the activities in the area and speaks both Thai and English and can arrange and help you enjoy any of the activities listed, plus supply a host of other information known only to someone born and raised in this area.
A nurse by profession and employed for 20 years at Ranong Hospital, Rattana is available to take care of minor ailments and will direct those with more serious medical problems to the proper care and facility.

Year Purchased: 2009
I went into private practice as a consulting structural engineer on St. Patrick's Day 1968. I had arrived in Seattle on July 3rd 1964 planning on spending a few days there prior to catching passage on a ship to New Zealand from Vancouver B.C., on the next leg of my planned five year circumnavigation of the globe, from Ireland back to Ireland. I had always been involved in sports and held the Leinster Provincial pole vault and long jump championship and was runner-up on two occasions in the All Ireland Pole Vault Championship. In addition I played rugby for Clontarf Rugby Club; soccer for the Stellamaris Soccer Club; tennis for C.Y.M.S and ran track for the Dublin Civil Service Club. When I arrived, Seattle had one big drawback! There was no rugby club closer than Vancouver, B.C. During my trip I had been a member of and played rugby with London Irish, Canadian Irish (Toronto), New York Rugby Club and the Universities Rugby Club (Los Angeles). It was unthinkable that I would live in a city without a rugby club. Therefore things had to change. I was instrumental in forming the nucleus of and became a founder member of the Seattle Rugby Club in 1967. I played on the team until the 1980's when injuries and "Father Time" forced me into a more "gentle" sport. Now a days I still indulge in the more "gentle" sport of soccer, playing left wing for the 'Magnolia Bluffers" over 40's side. I also play an occasional game of Gaelic Football having played and coached the Seattle Gaels Gaelic Football team to its first Northwest Division championship in 1986 and played on the Seattle Gaels team when we won our first and only (to date) North American Championship in Chicago in 1999. Other avid interests include skiing, cycling, tennis, s.c.u.b.a. diving and fishing. A broken back some five years ago has severely affected my skiing so I have become more of a "Snow Bird" and spend a considerable portion of my time in Thailand.
Why the Owner Chose Khaolak
Somewhat less active due to injuries described above I selected Ranong, Thailand as a place to spend the winters rather than wintering in Seattle. The area is really an undiscovered tropical paradise and the world renowned Raksawarin Hot Springs is a pleasant 5 minute walk for me. The hot springs work wonders for my back problem to the point where I'd almost consider skiing again...but only "almost"!
The Unique Benefits of this Condominium
This unit is completely self contained, quiet, comfortable and spacious. The kitchen is a unique feature for this area, however Duang's restaurant and Pat and Sun's coffee shop and cocktail bar also get a lot of my attention. Ranong hospital, dental clinics, a sports arena with public tennis courts running track, swimming pool, basketball courts and 2 soccer fields among other activities as well as restaurants and shopping are all within easy reach.
