It's always a pleasant surprise when an experience exceeds expectations, but renting this residence for a weekend in Malibu was without a doubt one of those. Al is a rare breed these days - a considerate gentleman who offers exactly what he advertises. If you decide to stay at his lovely home for a while, please treat him with the utmost respect and consideration as I would like to think that his experience with his visitors is just as positive as our time staying at his place. We won't stay anywhere else in Malibu if his home is available. Wouldn't even consider a hotel now!

We just returned from a week long stay at this Paradise Cove home. Our stay can best be described as perfect. We use VRBO for all of our travel and vacation needs, and this was a great experience. For starters, Al, the owner, is easy to work with and he was very accomodating. We did not have to ask for anything. The property was very clean, and well cared for. The home itself is spectacular. There was plenty of space and the home has all the amenities you will need. The pictures only tell part of the story. The yard is huge, and one side is fenced off, which was great for our two year old and the dogs. There is also an outdoor kitchen, which we got a lot of use out of. The beach is very private. There was only one day where we saw other people on the beach. It is about a two minute walk to the beach. The neighborhood itself is very private, and the community is gated. The rate for this property is very competitive for the area, and you will not be dissapointed. We would recommend this property to our friends and we will be returning.

I stayed at this amazing house for a week in May 2011. I can't even put into words how special and wonderful this place is. The incredible house is located in a private gated community, which was so peaceful. The house and the yard are both clean, perfectly-maintained and so lovely and beautiful. The ocean is a short two minute walk from the house and it is located on the most unbelievable beach, quite possibly in the world. Paradise Beach Cove Restaurant is a five minute walk down the beach and has great seafood and atmosphere! The owner is very nice and very easy to work with. I highly recommend this amazing place for your vacation in Malibu!

My family and I had a great six days at this house! The photos really don't do it justice – this place is amazing, with a huge kitchen and extensive grounds. If you stay here, you really should bring a dog or two – we missed ours when we realized how much they would have loved all the green grass! There are windows and sliding glass doors everywhere, making the house bright and cheery on those beautiful Malibu days. The kitchen is well stocked with plates, bowls, aprons, very cool green margarita glasses, and a blender with which to make the margaritas. :) There's also a great outdoor cooking area we used to barbecue halibut, yum! You really don't need to leave the house, but the beach is gorgeous and only a short walk away. The owner, Al, is really sweet and came by the house to chat and show us around. As a family of four adults, our only complaint is that the bed in the first bedroom is very small, so we had some trouble figuring out sleeping arrangements... but that was only a minor snag in a wonderful week. We highly recommend this house for entertaining, relaxing, and an all around good time! Thanks Al!

We stayed at this home from early January through late March of 2011, and it was absolutely wonderful, so much so that we extended our stay by an additional 2 weeks. I truly hated to leave! Both the main house and guest house are amazing, designed for comfort and quality. The home is perfect for entertaining, and there is a great kitchen for family cooking, or given its serene location, its a perfect place to relax - in the soaking tub or reading a book by the fireplace. The yard is huge, and lovely, and very well suited to pets. The neighborhood is quiet, with both the the beach and great hiking trails in the Santa Monica mountains walking distance from the house. The owners and caretaker were kind, attentive, and very generous in making our stay enjoyable, for both us and our guests. We really appreciated their hospitality, and hope for the opportunity to stay again. Thank you!

We stayed at this house in March of 2010 and had use of the house and guesthouse for a week. We were impressed at the cleanliness of the home, the proximity to the beach and how well maintained it was. The owner was readily available, and came by to meet us personally on our first day. This house is far enough from the hustle and bustle to feel private, but close enough to enjoy all that Malibu has to offer. My husband and I enjoyed a great lunch at Geoffrey's, and the kids got to do the Santa Monica pier. Very comfortable, very private, a huge property, quick walk to the beach, overall a great place to stay!

My son was to propose marriage to his girlfriend at the Getty Villa. He was then going to bring his new fiance to Dukes Malibu Restaurant for a surprise celebration with friends and family. The kids live in Pasadena, her parents were flying in from Denver, we came from Northern California, so it was nice to have a wonderful quiet home to get to know each other in and to start new memories. This house is fantastic! The 3 bedrooms, allowed us to sleep comfortably both families. We were able to enjoy each others company around the kitchen, outside around the fire pit, prepare a BBQ in the outdoor kitchen and go on long walks down the beach. I think the house made our experience so enjoyable and very special. It was such a close walk to the private beach which was magnificent, beautiful manicured grounds surround the home that were so peaceful and it was such a comfortable home. Thank you for making our weekend so memorable!

I could gush about the glories of this Malibu home. My family had the most lovely peaceful long weekend here in March of 2010. The owners renovated the property and the design aesthetic is truly perfection. Here are highlights: Owners Al and Lupe were very hospitable. Al showed us around the house and answered any questions we had. Lupe was great at helping us book the place. Kitchen is amazing. Spacious, roomy, modern, open floor plan. There's a built-in coffee unit that owners let us used. We had fresh brewed coffees and espressos everyday. The kitchen is stocked with cookery and essentials. Our family cooked almost every meal at home. It was a joy. Master bath: It's glorious. The Japanese soak tub was a hit with us and our kids. You look outside the floor to ceiling windows at a gorgeous yard. It's like a spa. And they have tons of towels and linens and a washer and dryer. Great for families with small kids. The huge yard: I mean, huge. Well groomed. There's a bbq to use. A gated fence on one side for our dog. (Not many rentals allow dogs. This place is perfect for our lab retriever.) The other part of this yard has orange and lemon trees that owners let us pick from. The kids spent a lot of time running around outside. So family friendly. Location: 400 yards to the beach, a short walk in a private neighborhood. We walked to and from the beach a few times everyday. And it's a short walk to Paradise Cove restaurant when you want to go out. A further walk takes you to Pt. Dume surf spot. And short driving distance to shopping, restaurants, and hikes. Peace and Tranquility: If you are looking for this, you've found it here. It's quiet. You're surrounded by trees and a large garden. And walking distance to long walks on the beach. The only slight minus is that you can hear motorcycles on the PCH. But not enough to ruin the experience. I highly recommend this rental.
