Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands, Europe (15 Minute Drive from Schiphol Airport)
Accommodations: Apartment, 1 Bedroom + No additional sleeping rooms avail, 1 Bath (Sleeps 2)
Keywords: Apartment
The apartment is located just outside the old centre yet around the corner from all the attractions Amsterdam has to offer. You could do everything by foot or by bike. Public transport to and from the apartment is excellent.
The apartment has been fully renovated and tastefully refurbished in 2007 and is located on the second floor of a charming building dating from 1916. There is no elevator, only stairs. Everything is brand new and very well isolated. The apartment has high quality furniture and equipment.
The apartment is best fit for a couple. It has a very light living room with a half open kitchen, one bedroom with a double bed, a separate walk-in wardrobe, a bathroom with shower, a separate toilet and a separate storage room. Both at the front and the back there is a balcony.
Amsterdam is located in the province of North Holland. Just outside the city you will find interesting places such as the old fishing villages of Volendam and Marken, the Cheesemarket in Alkmaar or you could go to the beach at Bloemendaal or Zandvoort in summer. In April and May you visit the flowerfields at De Keukenhof. As the Netherlands is a small country, you can reach The Hague in only 45 minutes by train or Rotterdam in only 60 minutes. The surroundings of Amsterdam are great for cycling, walking or various watersports.
Amsterdam has so many things to offer, you could spend weeks here! Worldwide renowned museums like the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh museum, the Stedelijk museum ( modern art ) and since 2009 also the Hermitage are all to be found here. Amsterdam has plenty of great restaurants and a vibrant nightlife. But, the best attraction of all remains the city itself. Enjoy walking alongside the canals, stroll through the picturesque Jordaan quarter or the ultra hip Pijp quarter.
From April Through September there are many outdoor festivals like the Grachtenfestival, Gaypride with its famous Canalparade, and what about Queensday when the entire city colours orange! The best way to get around is by foot (it is a small city, very unfit for cars) or just rent a bike and do as all Amsterdammers do. In summer you can rent a boat or a waterbike and explore the canals yourself.

This was our first visit to Amsterdam and the place was exactly as described. We appreciated how clean the apartment was and the owner, Pascal provided helpful info and directions on how to get there prior to our arrival. It was great having a place to relax that was more than a hotel room and with a grocery store nearby, we were able to eat-in once in awhile. There is a great bakery and bagel place down the block as well. It's located in a quiet neighborhood so we slept well at night. Fairly close to a subway station (about a 10-12 minute walk) which made it easy to get to Centraal station, where a lot of the action is. It's also close to Ooster park which is lovely for picnics, and the coolest bar (old converted windmill) which was one of our favorite hang-outs. Having rented other VRBO places, we have learned there is a great variety out there, and this property is accurately described, in great condition, and Pascal was very hospitable and has pride of ownership in his place, which shows in the excellent condition everything was in. We highly recommend this place - thank you Pascal!

I love visiting new place but not feeling like tourist and this apartment's location and feel was just perfect. You are away from the hustle and bustle of downtown but it's just a short tram, bus or metro ride away and all three have stops right near the apartment. The beautiful Oosterpark is a short two blocks away and the Amstel river with all the wonderful canal boats is within walking distance or a very short tram ride. The owner, Pascal was just amazing. My arrival was anything but straightfoward and he understood my crazy situation and worked with me all the way through. I couldn't say thanks enough. The apartment is beautiful, clean and most important, very comfortable! A perfect get away for a couple or if you are traveling by yourself. Pascal gave great tips on the famous local bakery just on the next block and on a few other great resturants in the neighborhood. On my next stop back through Amsterdam, I know exactly where I'm staying!
Owner response:It was a pleasure having you here, what a remarkable start of your stay in Amsterdam indeed but it was fun!!!

My boyfriend and I planned a last minute trip to Amsterdam and could only find expensive hotels with availability...That is until I found VRBO.com and quickly got a response back from Pascal that his apartment would be available for us. Not only is the price extremely reasonable considering you get a luxury apartment for the same price as a hotel room, but the owner, Pascal went out of his way to make sure that we had all the same comforts and conveniences as if we were at our own home. We truly could not believe how beautiful the apartment was, and how conveniently located it was (tram stop and metro right there) to the city center. We felt like kings cooking in his brand new kitchen, and lounging on the huge leather couch watching our nightly shows. I'd highly suggest renting this place and doing business with Pascal :) ! This was our last stop after a month traveling through Europe, and we can honestly say it was the best place we stayed in overall--so thanks Pascal for helping us put a perfect end to a trip of a lifetime!
Owner response:It was a pleasure having you guys stay at my place. Maybe we meet again in Amsterdam!!

The apartment was stunning and just as it shows in the pic's. Very clean, nice shower and everything needed to have a very comfortable stay. Only 1-1/2 blocks to transit, great pizza place around the corner as well as numerous smaller shops .Lots to see and do in town. Pascal is very pleasant and made us feel more like family visiting! We would not hesitate recommending to anyone and hope to be able to return in the near future! Thanks again Pascal!!

First time using VRBO and first time staying in Amsterdam; both a positive experience! Owner took the extra steps to ensure we were comfortable and informed during our stay, and he was very easy to do business with. The apartment is in excellent condition has everything you'll need during your stay: spacious floorplan, comfortable & fashionable furnishings, full kitchen w/ espresso maker, cable TV/DVD/surround sound, washer & dryer, and more... There is a supermarket around the corner from the apartment, and a public transportation stop right in front. Otherwise, it's a short walk to the city center with many sights on your way. We would stay here again, and most certainly do business with the owner, Pascal, again. Thanks again for making our trip a great experience!
