Situated in the countryside you will enjoy the spectacular, rugged beauty of West Kerry, while the town of Dingle, with its countless attractions, is a mere 7 miles away.

Walkers love West Kerry with its designated trails and walks of varying length and difficulty. Many visitors will simply take a leisurely stroll along one of the many beaches while others relish the challenge of reaching Mount Brandon’s peak (3,000 feet) or trekking along ‘Cosán na Naomh’ (The Saints’ Path) which is fifteen miles from start to finish.

The owner has put together some information, directions and photographs of hill and cliff top walks that start and finish at the house. These packs are easy to follow and will be available to you during your stay.

It can be said that the Dingle Peninsula is the archaeological capital of Ireland. Googling ‘Dingle’ and ‘archaeology’ throws up over 46,000 hits! The area boasts Bronze Age standing stones, Iron Age promontory forts, early Christian monastic sites and medieval ring forts. All of these sites are within a short driving-distance of the residence, while the view from the sunroom will reveal a hilltop seventeenth century towerhouse. A thirty minute climb will get you to this towerhouse. It is well worth the effort with views of Mount Brandon to the northeast, the Blasket Islands to the south and, on the rare occasion, County Clare to the north.

Most of Corca Dhuibhne, to give the peninsula its Gaelic name, is a Gaeltacht where Gaeilge or Gaelic is still widely spoken. Cuirimid fáilte faoi leith i gcónaí roimh lucht labhartha na Gaeilge teacht inár measc.

Traditional Gaelic songs can regularly be heard in some of the local pubs not to mention the best of Traditional Irish music.

My husband and I had a great time in Dingle. We highly recommend staying at this house, it is just beautiful and very comfortable. We couldn't have been more pleased with it. Kevin helped us to plan our stay offering advice on trips to take and traps to avoid. We exchanged many emails with him before we arrived in Ireland. We will be back again someday. My family and i have stayed 3 wonderfull weeks at this location. We have make a lot of trip around the area. The amazing view at the top of mount Brandon, the great drive at Slea Head, the nice beach at CastleGregory for Kyte-surfing, the fantastic and sometimes scary drive at the Conor Pass, the peacefull boattrip around the blasket Islands, the unique horse races from Dingle and above all the Nice townshend Dingle. Also is Tralee and the monistary from Adfert in the Neighbourhood and even Puckfair in KillOrglin was a Nice trip. This was the first time for us visiting Ireland and we enjoyed it. Also the very friendly and helpfull owner Kevin make it complete. We enjoyed the CD from his ensemble with traditional music at oud trip home via the Ring of Kerry.

Owner response:Frank and Rachel, a sincere thanks for a lovely review. I'm glad that you had a great time, you really packed a lot into your holiday! Kind regards, Kevin.

The house is perfect, as is the environment. We really enjoyed our walks, the cliffs, Connor’s Pass, with beautiful views! The beach at Castlegregory is fine, no wind and calm water. Don’t forget to follow the Slea Head drive! We surely will recommend this place to our relatives and friends.
