If you want the real experience of living in Hawaii, far from the crowded tourist Mecca's then this is the spot for you! A beautiful piece of lushly landscaped land in the tropical rainforest, this property is bordered by wooded gulches on both sides and out the back yard there is not a sign of civilization straight to the soaring crest of Haleacala Vocano.
Peaceful, quiet and private, this North Shore paradise is convenient for windsurfers, surfers, stand up paddlers and adventurers of all ages. We are close to the world famous windsurf/surf spot Ho`okipa, mere miles from Jaws (which is one of the worlds largest waves and a true sight to behold when it breaks in the winter time) and Maliko Gulch, launching point of downwind SUP enthusiasts.
If you crave the tourist experience a day trip to Kihei (45 mins), Wailea (1 hour) or Lahaina (1 hour) will satisfy you and then you return to your Quiet, verdant lodgings. The property is at 1000 ft elevation so it cools off into the 60's or low 70's at night, a refreshing change after a day in the 80's!
Shower in privacy under the stars and the 120ft Eucalyptus trees! A true Island experience, a memory to last forever.

Our stay here was made pleasant by the owners kindness and hospitality. The studio is clean and well kept with plenty of amenities, the use of the washing machine and dryer was a lifesaver during our trip. We loved the outdoor shower but regretted the moment we had to turn the hot water off. We had no difficulty getting to and from our adventures around the island, although finding the place our first night was a little difficult but the owner provided step by step directions and assisted us over the phone. You cannot beat this price anywhere, at least not with all that's included. Would definitely stay here again given half the chance, highly recommended!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with young children.

We stayed 4 nights and it was a comfortable stay in the studio. Good base if you want to explore the upcountry area and east coast of Maui. The weather during our stay unfortunately wasn't the best.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car.
Owner response: Aloha, The weather was amazingly bad! The worst we have seen in five years! Many thanks for the review despite enduring that unusual event. Mahalo, Bonny

This studio apt is located in a beautiful lush setting; we really loved the Haiku area. We could see so many stars at night on this property! The studio was very clean and had a comfortable bed. The outdoor shower is the only shower and the water in it is cool (not hot) so it is a surefire way to wake up in the morning! As well, there is a toilet room but no bathroom per se. We brushed our teeth in the kitchen sink which was not a problem for us. Overall, we had a good stay and the owner always responded to my email inquiries very promptly before I arrived which I appreciated.Recommended for: Adventure seekers.
Owner response: I am so sorry your shower was not hot! The hot water takes some time to heat up but it is there! Mahalo!

B"H I thoroughly enjoyed the week I spent in this studio apartment in Haiku. The description in the listing is accurate, the photos are just as the place is, the property is well maintains, the owners were quite helpful in answering questions that I had, and i would definitely recommend this to anyone interested in staying there. Although the studio is attached to the owner's house, there was never a problem of privacy. The owners were also very accommodating in allowing me to use their washer and dryer, and even supplying laundry detergent. The grounds are well kept, nicely landscaped, and quite appealing, as is the view of Mt Haleakala out the sliding glass door in the back. I happened to really like the outdoor shower. One nice feature is that the property is located so that one can drive a few miles, and be right at the start of the road to Hana. I would point out that there is no stove top in the little kitchen. This can be a problem, if one wants or has to do their own cooking. The property is conveniently located to major attractions on the island, especially the road to Hana and Mt Haleakala. It is also located far off any major roads, so it is quiet and peaceful. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there, and would be happy to stay there again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.

As a former Maui resident, I am very picky about rentals. When I arrived at this gorgeous place, it blew me away. The morning view of Haleakala was incredible. Outdoor shower, awesome. Clean, comfortable and spacious, I need to ask the owners (who are absolutely incredible as well) where they bought the bed because it was the most comfortable one I've ever slept on! A fantastic retreat for a single person or couple. Highly recommend. Can't wait to go back.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

This is a perfect place for a unique romantic getaway. The studio is quiet, clean and comfortable. Our favorite was the outdoor shower. The owner is prompt and professional. It's near the top of Haiku, so you should be comfortable with a few bugs. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.
