Year Purchased: 2005
I retired to Florida many years ago and have lived in the Colonnades community since 1994 when I moved here to be close to my family. Being a 55+ community, it was just perfect for me. I made many friends and had a beautiful setting for my family to come visit close to all the amenities that Florida has to offer: beaches, boating, fishing, recreational parks, cruises to the beautiful Caribbean Islands, and only an hour and a half drive to Orlando with all it's family entertainment. I was born and raised my family in New England; however, always wanted to retire to Florida one day. I have been fortunate to have been able to live out my dream and still be here to enjoy it at 92 years old!
Why the Owner Chose Fort Pierce
I enjoy the peaceful surroundings of Fort Pierce particularly at the Colonnades with all it's beautiful, well maintained landscaping, the Olympic size swimming pool, tennis courts, and the completely remodeled community center which is a host to many community events. The center offers a library and pool tables also. Also available is a marina with boat dockage at very low rates. The convenience of the location of this community and it's many features attracted me to this area many years ago. Within walking distance is a pharmacy, bank, several restaurants, the Seaway Market for groceries and just minutes to the beach and fishing on the Jetty at Fort Pierce Inlet. Just over South bridge, also only minutes away, is the lovely downtown Fort Pierce where you will find the riverfront farmer's market every Saturday morning, restaurants, theatre, shopping, and many holiday events through out the year.
The Unique Benefits of this Condominium
This particular unit is on the 2nd floor which has a lovely view from the screened patio of the gardens and water fountain behind the building. From the front balcony you can sit and enjoy the sunset over the Fort Pierce Inlet. The kitchen is fully stocked with eating and cooking utensils and appliances and linens are provided. Also, there is a TV in both the Living room and the Master Bedroom.
