We are located approximately 45 minutes from Honolulu International Airport on the North East coast of Oahu; where the Ko’olau Mountains touch the Pacific Ocean.

The Hale Mauka-Makai is our HUGE 5 bedroom/3 bathroom, direct beachfront vacation home on the North Shore of Oahu, literally just steps from the edge of the beautiful South Pacific Ocean. This 3000 sq. ft. home can easily accommodate large families, groups, or multiple families traveling together. The views from this two-story home are breathtaking, providing you with a 180 degree view of Hauula Bay and the majestic Ko’olau Mountains as your natural backdrop for priceless photos and memories.
The downstairs portion (1,500+ sf living area) has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom with porcelain tile floors throughout. It also features a remodeled kitchen & bath (2007) with granite counter tops, full size stainless steel stove/range, built-in microwave, full size refrigerator, and all the cooking utensils you need to prepare complete meals. This floor also has a private en-suite coin-op washer & dryer. The living area is richly decorated with warm tropical & plantation style furniture and enjoys direct ocean views. There are two queen size sleeper sofas in the living room in addition to a dining area with teak dining table and seating for six. The master bedroom has wrap-around ocean views and is furnished with elegant and tropical teak furniture with a high quality pillow-top queen size bed. The second bedroom also has a high quality pillow-top queen size bed and heavy teak and tropical furniture for an elegant feel. The third bedroom is furnished with two high quality pillow-top twin size beds. All areas of the home have ceiling fans, however they are rarely necessary as this home enjoys wonderful cool ocean breezes year around.
This upstairs area is a spacious (1,500+ sf living area) two bedroom, two bath area with porcelain tile floors in the living area and wall to wall carpet in the bedrooms. It also features a complete, large and open, modern kitchen with a breakfast bar, sealed top stove/range, microwave, full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, and all the cooking utensils you need to prepare complete meals. The living area is light and airy, featuring vaulted ceilings and tropical-style furniture overlooking breathtaking ocean views. There are two three-person couches for your comfort in addition to an adjacent dining area with seating for up to six. The master suite is furnished with tropical furniture and a king-size, high quality pillow-top bed. The master bath features decorative ceramic tile work and has amazing ocean and mountain views to enjoy while showering. The second bedroom has a queen-size bed and tropical furniture for an airy island feel, also in this room is a coin-op washer and dryer in the closet. Both bedrooms have ceiling fans although they are rarely needed as this home enjoys cool tropical breezes year around.
Enjoy relaxing on the direct ocean front deck with seating for ten which opens up to the blue South Pacific Ocean only 20 feet away. There is plenty of area for sunbathing on the beach or on the grassy yard. Watch spectacular sunrises while soaking in one of our nearby hot tubs. Stroll down the beach to the Hauula beach park and coral preserve for some great snorkeling and swimming or take our ocean kayaks out for some adventure. Why the Owner Chose Hauula
Our family has owned and operated this business for two generations now. Originally our goal was to provide accommodations for people visiting family at BYU-Hawaii who wanted a more family-friendly atmosphere. We then realized the need for quality oceanfront vacation rentals at an affordable rate...this is our mission today, to provide quality, yet affordable, oceanfront vacation rentals on the North Shore of Oahu.
The Unique Benefits at this Beach House
Guests who stay with us get more than just a place to sleep at night, they get their own beach house on the North Shore of Oahu. We have 450 linear feet of oceanfront property giving our guests plenty of room to lounge in the sun while being cooled down by the gentle breezes of the South Pacific Ocean. We also have four hot tubs on the property plus kayaks, boogie boards, snorkeling gear and complimentary high-speed internet. Each of our units come with full kitchens and 11 of them have air-conditioning. We are located four minutes from the Polynesian Cultural Center and Brigham Young University Hawaii. We are also located 20 minutes north of Kualoa Ranch and 15 minutes from Sunset Beach and the famous North Shore surfing beaches.
Within walking distance to Hale Ko’olau with a large grocery store and several restaurants, including the very popular Papa Ole’s Kitchen.
This is one of our favorite beach parks on O’ahu. Enjoy excellent sandy bottom swimming on this stunning and un-crowded beach.

We have operated as Hale Koolau LLC for nearly a decade, however prior to this change of entity we operated the business as sole proprietors, accommodating thousands of guests over the years. We are a member of the Better Business Bureau of Hawaii with an A+ rating, member of the Hawaii Chamber of Commerce, and have an "excellent" rating on TripAdvisor.
