We just returned from spending 12 wonderful days at Headquarters over the Christmas and New Years holidays. Having rented different homes in Hopetown over the last 5-6 years, Headquarters is far and away the best value. The rooms are large and airy, beautifully decorated, and just make you feel comfortable the moment you step inside. Each bedroom even has it's own little private deck. The outside spaces are huge. 2 gazebos at each end of a large deck give great shade for those who need. We had morning coffee and breakfast overlooking the ocean each day. The pool is large, clean, and well maintained, even if a bit chilly this time of year. The hidden gem is the upper deck which we dubbed "The Rock" due to the beautifully carved rock and coral steps that lead you up to it. The views from "up on the Rock" are virtually 360 degrees. Want to see the ocean? Look that way. Want to see White Sound and out to the Sea of Abaco? Why just turn around and there it is. Want to look down the beach toward Tahiti Beach? Well just turn a bit that way. Just amazing! Most evenings were spent up on the Rock for cocktails during sunset. The automatic back up Generator came in handy on Christmas, as power went down just before we started to cook Christmas dinner. No worries for us as the genset provided all the power we needed. The location of the house is about a 2 minute walk away from the Abaco Inn, and just a 2 minute golf cart ride to Sea Spray Resort and Marina. A few minutes in the golf cart gets you to A&E Liquors for all your beverage needs, and the LVA Grocery is a few minutes past that. A great location for all our needs. The owner and their on island caretaker were extremely helpful with our questions and arrangements, and things couldn't have gone smoother. If you're headed to Hopetown, make sure you check out Headquarters. We recommend it as top notch! Headquarters is a truly unique home with all the comforts and more, and views that are hard to match.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

We spent a week at the "Headquarters" and everything was just as described. The pool was perfect, along with the ocean views and breeze. The house is spacious, well stocked, and the caretakers were responsive to our requests. The owner was helpful and timely in all correspondence. It's a short walk to the Abaco Inn, which is one of the finest restaurants on the island. We rented a boat and a golf cart for the week and did lots of snorkeling. We would definitely rent this home again and have already recommended it to our friends.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers.
