Beachhouse Walrus is an unique styled house, Mediterranean detached and colorful in a 3300 m2 garden, and part of a compound.
Imagine waking up, asking the help to prepare your breakfast while you swim or walk along the beach. You return for breakfast and continue your day, going out on excursions, horse back riding, renting a boat, a trip in organized groups (mountain bike, four-wheel, hiking) or just stay home and read/paint/draw/make jigsaws, play tennis, practice golf swings etc. The Walrus has its WI-FI. The tennis court is for your use only, as are the sand bunkers to practice some golf.
For beach life you can stay in our bay Playa Bonita, or go to next bays like Portillo or Coson to vary a bit.
The nearby town Las Terrenas is developing rapidly, but since long it has had good supermarkets. The town has a French/Italian/Dominican population so purchasing delicatesses is never a problem. The maid will help you to purchase fresh fish from fishermen at Walrus if you would like.
In town are activities as Spanish classes, dance classes and of course the normal bars/restaurants and dancing. You can order food from the surrounding restaurants as well. We think your vacation will be focused on the easy life. Enjoy!!

Why the Owner Chose Las Terrenas
We came to Playa Bonita in 1999 for the first time. We lived in Santo Domingo nearly 2 years and got to know the island but the, at that time, 4 hours drive to Las Terrenas hadn't been on our program yet. Friends assured us that we had to go on vacation to Samana and enjoy nature there since it was totally different from Punta Cana or Puerta Plata area. And we are so glad we did...we ended up, as last visit, in Playa Bonita and made the decision that we were going to buy land to construct our dream house. And we did!! And up till now we are enjoying every stay as much. Alone or with a group you feel revived when you stay so close to the sea. No breakfast before a dive in the salty water is a rule in beachhouse Walrus that we as family enjoy and we actually believe it gives you the perfect start of the day.
The Unique Benefits at this House
At Beachhouse Walrus you experience the perfect combinations and transitions of nature. Since the house is beach front, you are constantly in contact with the sea with its sandy entrance. The garden provides a nice connection and alternative from the beach. The house has a big covered terrace where you will be most of your time since it has a large sitting area, big dining table, open bar to the kitchen. The living has a TV, DVD, music equipment, library, and board games/puzzles, WI-FI and telephone. The tennis court is a private court, only for those staying at Beachhouse Walrus. The 3 king-size bedrooms with their own bathrooms, in the same Mediterrean style as the house. Colorful and with lovely details. One bedroom is equipped with 4 bunkstyle beds (2m x 1 m) each, and has its bedroom. Each room has a safety box. The king-size bedrooms have private terraces and entrances. The hotel next door allows Beachhouse Walrus'guests access to their restaurant/bar and pool area. In the same bay are more restaurants to visit, but most of the time you will enjoy your meal at your terrace. A live in maid will assist you in preparing meals. As will the live in gardener help you with outside choirs. At night a watchman will survey the compound. Fishermen will come by to offer you the catch of the day. In town (las Terrenas) 10 min. drive, you can find all the shopping needed, and there are lovely restaurants as well. You can make long walks along the beach, hire a four-wheel individually or join a group who makes excursions. Rent a boat to go to other beaches or fishing. Scuba dive- or snorkel equipment you can book next door. Kite surfing in las Terrenas (15 min. drive). Santo Domingo the Capital is 2,5 hour drive thanks to a new beautiful scenery high way since 2007. To put this story short, in Beachhouse Walrus you will detach from city life, enjoy nature, relax and enjoy life itself. We like you to have a wonderful inspirational vacation!!

We, the Brocker Family, are the content owners of Beachhouse Walrus. The five of us love to be there, and now that 3 of us are students in Europe, we enjoy it as a couple and bring friends along. The place is perfect to unwind and embrace life. Since we can't always be there ourselves we gladly rent it to others to have a good time.

Paradise Found!!! We found what we longed for, a stay at a blue bay in a beachhouse, just a few steps away from the sea. The beachhouse Walrus is build in a traditional and colorful style: roof of palm leafs, tastefully painted, spacious and open designed, a huge covered terrace and several small other ones. From the house is an open view of the always changing surface of the bay, and one hears and sees the rustling waves. The surrounding tropical yard has a lawn with palmtrees, large plants and aromatic flowers. The house is comfortably furnished and invites to relax to recover and get inspired. We didn't want to cook, to clean or do errands. It all was possible thanks to the live in help. But we did want to play was: tennis, swim, read, practice our chipping, bunkershots, and so we did all in the Walrus' garden. Next time we will come here we'll take our children/grandchildren along. We will show them how it is to live for a while in paradise.

After living 12 years on the island my family has decided that Las Terenas is by far their favorite place to spend family vacations. Our 3 children aged 7, 9 and 12 never wanted to leave LT. Both friends and family have spent time at the Walrus and think it is perfect. Everything anyone could ever need is right there, especially the most beautiful beach, Playa Bonita. When we had our little despadeda, going away party, we celebrated at the Walrus and this time with friends I will never forget. I highly recommend the Walrus, you will not be disappointed.

I have had the pleasure of staying at the Walrus a couple of times. The house is extremely comfortable, beautifully located, right on the most pristine, mostly deserted beach. It's wonderful to have your meals on the terrace, looking out over the ever changing ocean, and having drinks watching beautiful sunsets. Whether it's a game of tennis, or practice your golf swing on your own private little golf course, a dip in the ocean or romantic walk on the beach, the Walrus has everything for a relaxing, wonderful vacation. It definitely is pure heaven on earth and I cannot wait to go back!!!!
