The Carriage House Suite is quietly set on 2 acres nestled in the forest along California Creek, on the edge of the Chugach State Park, yet conveniently located directly across the street from Alaska's famous Double Musky Restaurant, 1 mile from Alyeska Ski Resort and just minutes to great hiking trails, shops, restaurants and so much more.
The private Suite occupies the 1st level of this beautiful craftsmen style timberframe home, with up to 1,200 square feet of private living space, including the choice of 4 bedrooms with deluxe linens and down comforters, each with a private bath, full kitchen, dinning and living areas with cable TV and entertainment center, patio and private entrance.
Hosts live upstairs offering the option of travel advice, borrowing extra needed items, catering meals and security.

Year Purchased: 1999
Your hosts are Rachel Hatcher and Jake Thompson. Jake grew up in Balboa (The Canal Zone)Panama and spent summers in Sabula Iowa, then later lived in both North and South Florida before coming to Alaska. Jake has almost always been a carpenter, currently a certified General Contractor, specializing in building custom timber frame homes. Rachel grew up in Jupiter Florida, went to Florida Atlantic University, graduated with a bachelors of Finance, minor in accounting. worked in South Florida in public accounting for 5 years before coming to Alaska. We have lived in Alaska for 15 years and love the outdoors, together we have a vast knowledge of the area that we love to share
Why the Owner Chose Girdwood
The Carriage House Suite is located on 2 beautiful acres of land right on California Creek that look back on Alyeska and Max's mountain. The owner Jake Thompson custom built a timber frame home with private rental space on the 1st level - The Carriage House Suite which also runs as a B&B when not rented as the suite.

The Carriage House Suite is nested in the spruce and hemlock trees on 2 acres, along California Creek looking back on Alyeska and Max's mountain where Alyeska Resort is located. The Suite is located on the edge of town within easy walking distance to many restaurants (directly across from the Double Musky Restaurant), shops and access to great hiking trails. The Suite is 1 mile to Alyeska Ski Resort.

The Carriage House B&B couldn't be more beautiful -- from the amazing custom timber frame structure to the warm and comfortable furnishings. Our hostess, Rachel, was inviting and charming and cooked a fabulous breakfast for our entire family. What a great escape! We will definitely be staying with them again.
