Great Stay!

Guest: Nevada County Family (Grass Valley Ca)
Date of Stay: 03/22/12 Review Submitted: 04/03/12

My wife and I rented the cabin for 3 nights and had a blast. It was a stormy weekend so we couldn't do a lot of exploring out on the rocks, but the fireplace was warm, rented some movies, made a couple of wonderful dinners and really enjoyed the views. We are already planning our next visit! Thank you for making the transaction so easy. We watched the whales spout from the bedroom! How cool is that?

A multi-million dollar view!

For the second year in a row we were able to book this wonderful old beach home for a birthday weekend celebration. Wonderful folks to work with. The place is rustic, but full of character and so very cozy. There is no way to describe the view other than "awesome!" The pictures really don't do it justice. Waking up to the roar of the ocean right outside the door in this very private corner of the world is indescribable. And sitting on the bench with a glass of wine to watch the sunset gives you an entirely different perspective on life! The cabin itself gives you all you need right down to a tablecloth and candles. We cooked-in and barbecued every night, even though town is literally five minutes away. Highly recommend doing lunch at Noyo Harbor at Carine's -crab sandwich and burgers to die for! Love the place and hope to return again.

Such a great vacation in a rustic home.

This summer my sister, her boyfriend, her son, and my boyfriend all rented this house out for 3 nights. All I can say is WOW. We have been coming to Fort Bragg since we were little girls and this vacation rental made our experience amazing. We looked all over for a rental that wasn't outstandingly priced and this seemed to be a perfect fit. With 2 bedrooms plus an extra little sleeping area at the end of the hall it was perfect for all 5 of us. We definitely could have fit more people with all the extra beds but like the owner states, the one bathroom can be tricky for a ton of people. We loved the drive down the private driveway and how secluded the house was. Every morning we would sit out on the red bench, drink our coffee, and listen to the waves. Yes, it is old, but it has SO much character. I would buy this house if I ever had the chance. The owners were VERY easy to work with. We will definitely be coming back next summer hopefully with some more family so we can show off this cute little place.

This cabin is on a stunning piece of ocean front. Close to town and very comfortable. The house was clean and offered everything one would need to have a relaxing weekend. The red bench is the perfect spot to sit and watch the Pacific. We had a wonderful time and would certainly visit again. Thanks!

Rustic, Relaxing and Rejuevinating

If you are looking for a rustic get away on the North Coast, this is the place for you! The cabin itself is retro 60's style, complete with all the furniture those of us over 45 grew up with. The wood stove kept us toasty warm in a rainstorm and there was enough wood provided that we could have stayed for weeks. The location is the bomb! The views of the ocean from the house and from the back yard are spectacular. A couple of trips to town for meals, North Coast brews and fresh crab from the harbor vendors combined with this wonderful property made for a memorable stay.

What a great old cabin to relax in! Very roomy and wonderful views. Seems miles away from it all but really only minutes away from downtown Fort Bragg and only 8 miles from Mendocino. A five minute walk lands you on a very private beach. It was a surprise and a delight to find this cabin so secluded. I was never worried about my dogs roaming around outside. They had plenty of room to play and didn't even want to come inside. I'll definately go back.

This Cabin was the best Fort Bragg Rental we have ever used....it was Roomy, Comfortable, Cozy and the View was Awesome. We heard the waves through out the day. This is a rustic place not modern but very comfortable and you work around the shortcomimgs ei no dishwasher, garbage disposal, washer and dryer. Otherwise it felt like home. the dogs loved the roaming areas. my dog is quite old and kept trying to go down the cliff...He could go down ok but had a hard time coming back up. It was so quite and peaceful, cant wait to go back again!

This cabin is a diamond in the rough. It may be old but very comfortable & quaint. The view of the ocean is incredible, especially from the "red" bench. One word "Priceless"!!! This was our 2nd stay in 3 months & we plan on going back.

Delightful view and cozy setting

This cabin was perfect for our weekend get away. There was plenty of room for our gang to spread out, eat, and play music. We were out and about all day and the fireplace and living room made for a lovely evening retreat along with fresh fish from the harbor. The view and coastline is extraordinary. We will definitely return to this spot of beauty.

Great Views, close to town and affordable rates!

We celebrated my husband's birthday at this home, and had a fantastic time!! The property this cabin is located on is soooo amazingly beautiful- trees, ocean, privacy! Close to town but it felt like we were a million miles away. The tide pools were awesome to explore and we sat on the red bench just watching the waves for what felt like hours. I suggest to the owners to either buy a screen door or upgrade one or two windows so that you can open a window and let in the ocean breeze/hear the waves. Also a water filter is a must - at least for the kitchen. This place is a great find and we will be returning again soon! Owners are easy to work with and we truly enjoyed staying at this place! Thanks for sharing!

Beautiful view, cozy all the comforts of home, We didn't find beach access. Very private & quiet

Guest: bebe (Chico, CA)

We enjoyed the cabin, the cliffs made me a little nervous, but there is plenty of property to keep your distance and you can see the ocean with out going close to cliffs easily. I am talking a million dollar view. It is very private and quiet, lots of nature all around you. I set in the window seat daily watching the waves crash, took awesome photos. If your looking for beach access this is not the place for you. Our teenage son loves to take his dog and run her up and down the beach they have a blast, We had to load them up several times a day for a short drive to the nearest beach. That was the only bummer for us we would of walked and ran up and down the beach many times a day. The cliffs made us nervous with our dog we felt like she might run over the edge without even knowing it.

We just spent 3 nights at "the cabin". The location is perfect, the views are perfect, our golden retrievers, Mandy and Murphy loved it, (bluffs are a little scary for the curious) For the price you couldn't ask for better. It would be nice to have at least 1 window to open to hear the ocean at night. (why I like to go) Beds are hard--a mattress topper helps a little. Owners are very easy to work with and we will be lookig forward to another stay, maybe this winter.

Owner response:Thank you for you comment. I like suggestions and mattress topper is a can do. We'll work on openable windows. Owner

The ocean views were spectacular. I could not believe how many stars were to be seen late at night. The cabin is a charming and rustic. It was all we needed and wanted. The only sounds were that of the ocean. Deer everywhere. The owners we nothing but great to work with. We will be going back next June if the property is available for sure! Dave

The Red Bench

Guest: Elrey (Chico Ca.)
Date of Stay: 04/16/10 Review Submitted: 04/20/10

The Red Bench on the bluff over looking the pacific says it all! The bench that seats 8, I would guess has a 2 million dollar view where as the house a 1 million view. I am sure it is welll know by all who have sat there including passing boaters and neighbors. The cabin is old, clean, workable, but comfortable because of that. It has a lot of land so you can let the dogs run, throw a frisbee, or fly a kite without falling off a cliff. Secluded and private. Exceeds pictures, and listing description.

Stayed with my mom and a girl friend for New Years. It was a spectacular home with a great view. I slept on the little couch by the window so that I could see the stars and hear the ocean. It was extremely relaxing and we felt completely at home. I can't wait to come back. It is also conviently close to town. Only thing I wish was different is the ability to open a window, but, since it is a rental, this is understood. Awesome stay!

We stayed a week over President's Days. The property promises the spectacle of the Pacific at your front door. Our labradors moved in like they were home and we felt like we'd gone back in time, to the way we used to love a stay on the north coast. Bravo!

"We stayed here for a week around Thanksgiving and were delighted with ur experience. The setting couldn't be more spectacular - views from the house of ocean waves breaking, sea birds flying, huge crags anda rocks, beautiful sunsets, etc. It would be hard to find a mroe beautiful spot on the Mendocino coast (and we know because we often rent here). We love to walk and found a beautiful walk to a lovely beach. The house is old, but very homey. The owners were very thorough and responsive. You really can't beat the price, either. Our yellow Labrador, Baxter, agrees! He loved it too!"
