We are located approximately 45 minutes from Honolulu International Airport on the North East coast of Oahu; where the Ko’olau Mountains touch the Pacific Ocean.

The Ko’olani Lani is our 4 bedroom/2 bathroom two-story beach front home with unparalleled views of Hauula Bay and the Ko’olau Mountains. Enjoy the amazing 400 square foot private lanai with wrap around views. This home is perfect for accommodating large families, groups, multi-generational families, or families traveling together. This beach house is divided into two distinct 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom areas connected by an interior stairwell.
The downstairs portion is a spacious (1200+ sf living area) air-conditioned (via mini-split) area with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. It features a recently remodeled kitchen (2007) with granite countertops, full-size stove/range, dishwasher, built-in microwave, side by side fridge, and all the cooking utensils you’ll need to prepare complete home-cooked meals. The kitchen opens to the living area with a convenient breakfast bar/nook. The living area is richly decorated with warm tropical & plantation style furniture and enjoys wrap-around breath-taking ocean views. There are two queen size sleeper sofas in the living room in addition to a dining area with mahogany dinner table & seating for four - you'll love the hand carved pineapple dining chairs.
The master suite has wrap-around ocean & mountain views and is furnished with elegant and tropical teak furniture with a pillow top queen size bed. The second bedroom also has a pillow top queen size bed and heavy teak and tropical furniture for an elegant feel.
The upstairs portion is a very large centrally air-conditioned (by mini-split) area (1200+ sf living area) also with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom that enjoys dramatic views of the entire Hauula Bay & Ko’olau Mountains from its expansive (400+ sf) private oceanfront lanai "balcony." The living area is richly decorated with warm tropical & plantation style furniture and enjoys wrap-around breath-taking ocean views. There is a queen size futon, two recliners, and a plantation chair in the living room which is adjacent to the Kitchen & dining area featuring a teak dining table & seating for four. The upstairs also has a completely remodeled kitchen and bath (2007) with granite countertops, stainless steel stove/range, built-in microwave, full size fridge, and all the cooking utensils you need to prepare a complete meal.
The first bedroom has ocean, mountain, & garden views and features a teak & bamboo King size bedroom set. The 2nd bedroom has tranquil garden views and enjoys a queen size extra plush pillow top bed. All areas of the home have ceiling fans and air-conditioning, however they are rarely necessary as this home enjoys wonderful tropical breezes year around. The spacious and airy Ko’olani Lanai is by far our most popular home and the perfect place to relax "Hawaiian Style."
Enjoy relaxing on your direct oceanfront outside patio or in chaise lounge chairs on your own private & expansive oceanfront lanai overlooking the Pacific Ocean, Hauula Bay & Koolau Mountains. Your private lanai also has an outdoor dining table with seating for six. There is plenty of area for sunbathing on the beach or on the grassy yard. Relax in beach-side chaise lounge chairs or watch spectacular sunrises while soaking in a hot tub just steps away. Stroll down the beach to the Hauula beach park and coral preserve for some great snorkeling and swimming or take our ocean kayaks out for some adventure. Why the Owner Chose Hauula
Our family has owned and operated this business for two generations now. Originally our goal was to provide accommodations for people visiting family at BYU-Hawaii who wanted a more family-friendly atmosphere. We then realized the need for quality oceanfront vacation rentals at an affordable rate...this is our mission today, to provide quality, yet affordable, oceanfront vacation rentals on the North Shore of Oahu.

Guests who stay with us get more than just a place to sleep at night, they get their own beach house on the North Shore of Oahu. We have 450 linear feet of oceanfront property giving our guests plenty of room to lounge in the sun while being cooled down by the gentle breezes of the South Pacific Ocean. Each of our units come with full kitchens and 11 of them have air-conditioning. We are located four minutes from the Polynesian Cultural Center and Brigham Young University Hawaii. We are also located 20 minutes north of Kualoa Ranch and 15 minutes from Sunset Beach and the famous North Shore surfing beaches.
Within walking distance to Hale Ko’olau with a large grocery store and several restaurants, including the very popular Papa Ole’s Kitchen.
Public Beach Park with pavilion and showers. Enjoy sandy bottom swimming beach protected by a barrier reef. Great place for small children to play and just a short walk from Hale Ko’olau.
Part of the state of Hawaii Parks & Recreations hiking system these trails are perfect for beginners and are considered “moderate”. The two loop trails offer excellent views of the beautiful coastlin

We have operated as Hale Koolau LLC for nearly a decade, however prior to this change of entity we operated the business as sole proprietors, accommodating thousands of guests over the years. We are a member of the Better Business Bureau of Hawaii with an A+ rating, and a member of the Hawaii Chamber of Commerce.

Our family vacation in Hawaii was wonderful! The best part was being right on the beach. While the adults relaxed in the sun, the kids played on the beach and in the ocean most of the time we were there. The hot tub was a great asset to warm up and relax in (even if the cover was rotted and ripped in half). I'm not sure why the advertisement states that it has 5 bedrooms--it has 4. 5 would have been nice, but 4 worked for us. We'll definitely consider another vacation in this house--it was one of the best, most relaxing vacations ever.

There was an error with the Homeaway listing, but we ensure to publish in the descriptions that it is a four bedroom home, as we also have a five bedroom home on our property. The hot tub covers were separated in half to allow guests to take them off easily. When they were connected as one piece, the covers were too heavy for some guests to remove and were being broken too often. Mahalo nui loa and we look forward to your next visit!
