This villa was absolutely amazing! We spent nine wonderful days here and can't wait to return. Dominique was very prompt in exchanging emails setting up the rental and sending the deposit to make the reservation was easy. When we arrived we were greeted by the lovely manager Bénédicte who spent plenty of time with us going over everything we needed to know to have a wonderful vacation, and served us complimentary drinks upon our arrival. We used Michael with Banana Location car rental who was also great and highly recommended. We followed him straight to the villa from the airport and Bénédicte was there to greet us as soon as we arrived. One of my main concerns prior to the trip was security. The villa is located inside a gated residential neighborhood that is very quiet and the villa has locking glass doors as well as a locking metal door in front of the glass. The front door has a heavy duty locking deadbolt as well as a regular door lock. We locked up the sliding doors every time we left and every night before bed. We had no issues with security and felt very safe here. I missed that there was no safe to store valuables like cash and passports, however Dominique informed me that a safe will be installed by June. Once the safe is there, I would have absolutely no reservations with the security here. The villa was very well equipped and we cooked breakfast almost every morning in the villa. The housekeeper was also great and went above and beyond what was expected in cleaning up after us. This villa is very private; surrounded by a tropical garden, and is perfect getaway for naturists. We took advantage of this and it is a short 5-10 min drive to Club Orient from here. For similar prices, you can stay here and have an entire private villa with a pool to yourself versus a tiny chalet at Club Orient with no pool. It was an easy decision for us - this was a great place to spend our vacation and we are so glad we did. Grand Case and its wonderful restaurants were a short drive away for dinner and we went there several nights. We also took advantage of the 3 provided kayaks and kayaked over to Pinel one day. I can't say enough good things about this villa, Dominique and Bénédicte. Everything was perfect and I look forward to future vacations here!

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at this villa. Benedicte was the house manager and came to welcome us and show us around the house and property when we arrived. She was very nice and helpful in answering questions and suggesting restaurants. The villa is so beautiful and in excellent condition. The style is modern and trendy, with a large open floor plan in the main part of the house. The glass doors that open to the deck and pool is amazing. The palm trees and tropical flowers growing in the back yard are so beautiful. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. There are 3 kayaks to use to kayak out to the sand bar and also to Pinel Island. The view from the bay while kayaking is so beautiful. We bought groceries for breakfast at the local store, The Grand Marche, and then everyday we were off to a new beach or for sightseeing. Most nights we dined out at one of the amazing restaurants in Grand Case down the street. All in all, this was a truly remarkable villa in a wonderful location on the island. We had the most amazing time here and did not want to leave!

Our family (including 3 teenagers and mother in law) stayed at this Cul de Sac villa for a week in February. We had a WONDERFUL vacation! The villa was absolutely fantastic- and the views just incredible. Benedicte, the property manager, greeted us on our arrival (and we were 3 hours late). She was very warm and hospitable and gave us some very good recommendations regarding restaurants and activities. We rented a car from Banana Locations and they were great as well (not only driving to the villa the night we arrived but also coming the day we left in order to take some of our luggage that did not fit in our rental car). The listing description was very accurate- if anything, the villa was even nicer than the description. The place was very clean and well maintained. I would definitely recommend this property!

We had a wonderful time in St. Martin and enjoyed very much our stay in your Villa. We do not want now to be at home with the cold weather and snow – we really would rather still be there in your villa!!! Everything was fine and we had no problems. We many times in the last years arranged rentals through “Home Away” and “Vacation Rentals by Owner”, but this was the best experience we had because: 1. Everything was as described on the website, 2. The pictures on the website and sent to us by you showed perfectly the property and most importantly the current condition of the property, 3. All our questions in advance were well responded timely by e-mail, 4. It would have been difficult for us to find the property, but Michael from Banana Locations arranged for us to be led to the villa when we arrived and we then had no problems after, 5. We had a wonderful reception by Benedicte – we have never had such a “welcome” at a property by someone so knowledgeable and knew exactly the information we needed to know to have a perfect stay. We thank you and her for that! We have no complaints at all and I hope we will again be able to stay at your villa in the future.

My friends and I spent Christmas Day and New Year's Eve at Cote De Mer. The spacious open layout was perfect for a group of seven. The owner, Dominique was very attentive, polite, and professional to deal with. She was always very pleasant which made the process so much easier and stress-free. We stayed there are a good 10 nights and quickly realized that we had scored the best location on the island. Cul De Sac is a quiet and private residential part of the island. The pool and deck was perfect for lazy days at home. There was also many active things to do around, including kayaking to nearby Pinel Island, and hikes to nearby beaches. We loved the surrounding nature of beaches and rolling hills. The weather was perfect for us - bright and sunny but not too hot as there was always the tropical breeze to cool things down. There is also an outdoor dining table on the deck, which was perfect for our dinners. There is a nearby supermarket, and we spent many nights grilling on the BBQ provided. Benedicte, the manager, was also very helpful and down-to-earth. She gave us many great suggestions and was very knowledgable about the island. She lives just steps away, so was available for us at a moment's notice in case we needed. If you wish to visit St. Martin, we highly recommend Villa Cote De Mer. C. Tran

Owner response: Dear Christiana, We are so happy that you and your friends enjoyed your stay so much at VILLA COTE MER. The locaton in Cul de sac french part of St Martin facing Pinel island, in the Marine reserve is a little piece of Paradise and we are glad to "share" it with people who appreciate it as you did. Thank you very much for your nice review and hope to welcome you again soon. Kind regards. Dominique

Excellent villa, better than described! Location is perfect. The privacy afforded by this villa is unparalleled. The owner and manager were more than accommodating for us and their recommendations for restaurants and beaches were spot on. This villa on the French side is an absolute dream. Value priced luxury! Our group even chartered a boat based on the managers recommendation and this proved to be on of the best day trips we've had. We even spent a few nights just relaxing on the villa's deck as the tropical breeze and privacy made it the perfect night spot! Highly recommended.

We just returned from our trip ti Villa Cote Mer and we we extremely satisfied with our experience. We took our 2 Adult children and a spouse and the villa was great for all of us. The listing description and photos were spot on. We especially loved the glass wall that opened all the way to bring in the outdoors and fantastic pool deck. The villa was very roomy and spacious and very clean and well equiped from the kitchen to the linens and hairdryers. Every appliance had good directions for use on them. Benedict did a great job of giving us a tour of the prpoerty and answering questions about roads and retaurants. We loved the kyaks and Pinel was totally doable. Our favorite dinner was in Grand Case at the Ti Provincal. The highlight tho was our day trip on a catamaran we got out of Anse Marcel on the "Flagship". The company was SXM St. Martin Catamaran Charter . It was just perfect.........................a must do. I would recomment this villa to anyone.

My husband and I and two friends stayed at this lovely villa for one week, which was way too short! We had a wonderful time and would definitely rent the villa again, and recommend it highly. The pictures are very accurate. The main "great room" stretches the full length of the house, and opens completely to the pool area. As you can see from the photos, it has a modern kitchen, dining table, and orange/red couches in the living room area. Each of the three bedrooms have a bathroom. The "red" bedroom and the bedroom that has two twin beds are on the first floor. The "master" bedroom that has a double-sink in the bathroom is on the second floor. The downstairs bedroom with the twin beds has the toilet in a separate room, that is only accessible from the great room. All of the bedrooms have separate air conditioning units, which was nice in the evening. We loved having the kitchen to prepare coffee and breakfast in the morning. We also ate lunch in the Villa several times, as well as dinner a few times. There is a very large grocery store nearby that has everything you need, and the prices are not unreasonable. There is also a Pharmacy close by, as well as a few small restaurants. Grand Case has some great restaurants and it is very close by. We had an amazing French dinner there one night. Pinel Island is a must. The beach is pristine, and the 3 small restaurants on the island are great for lunch. We went over early. The first ferry boat, which is actually an open-air motor boat, holds about 30 people and leaves the dock around 9:30 or so (it varied widely). Once on the island, 2 chairs plus an umbrella and 2 drinks was cheap, like $15 or less as I recall. Definitely rent a car, you'll need one. We used the Banana Locations rental service that the Villa owners recommended. It was absolutely worth it. The car agency people met us at the airport and escorted us all the way to the Villa, which really helped as it's tricky to find the first time. The only negatives: Yes, there are mosquitoes---it's a tropical island, so they are unavoidable. Bring Off! spray. The mattresses are very firm. The "red" room has the best mattress, the other rooms have futons. The stairs have no handrail, so older folks or young children might have a problem. The housekeeper was away during our stay, so a neighbor let us in, which was a definite disadvantage. It would be nice if there were brochures in the Villa for area tours, more restaurant recommendations, etc.

If you have never rented a Villa before, look no further this is the villa for you. As a couple, we spend about 3 weeks a year at various time in St. Martin at Luxury hotels. No more, the Villa Cot Mer exceeded all of our previous experiences on St. Martin. The residents of the gated community are very friendly and helpful, the photos accurately reflect the living space and the kitchen was well equipped for preparing meals at the Villa. You can not under estimate the convenience and experience you will receive from taking your morning breakfast with your other guests or family pool side. The entire back section of the house opens up to the pool and deck where you can see and hear the palm trees sway in the ocean breeze. The generous sized pool is perfect for a morning dip, an afternoon refreshment or to soak your feet with a cocktail under the stars. We have had the privilege of meeting the owners who are fair, honest and truly want to enjoy your time on St. Martin. There were only two couples that stayed at the Villa, but it would have been comfortable for 3 couples. Their are two parking spaces reserved for the Villa so if you have two cars, you will have plenty of parking. While in St. Martin we enjoy the US Market for groceries and Bacchus for fabulous french wine, take home french gourmet cuisine and the occasional indulgent lunch. We also recommend renting a private yacht charter on St. Martin to see the island from a different perspective.

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Cote Mer. We found the place to be spectacular and just as advertised on the web site. All told it was very nice, modern, clean, and quite enjoyable. The décor and layout give the place a very nice, comfortable feel, especially w/ the large sliding doors opening to the deck and pool area. WiFi, Nespresso machine, modern appliances, and Ipod dock were a nice touch and well appreciated. The house is situated in what is arguably the best location on St Martin; Right across from Pinel Island and its beautiful beach, the Karibuni Restaurant and a great snorkelling area. To get there, take the 2min ferry ride or load up one of the kayaks provided and paddle there in a few minutes as we did every day. In addition the place is <5 min away from Orient Bay Beach, and also close all the fabulous Grand Case restaurants. Benedicte, the Property Manager, was charming and extremely helpful during our stay and Mickael ‘s car rental service recomended was also perfect and very easy to deal with. Overall a great stay in a great place and we would not hesitate to recommend it.

We just spent 3 weeks vacation in this villa, with our 2 childrens. The first thing is to point out the location and the interior of the villa. The villa is located in a quiet aera very near to Pinel Island that is one of the best place in Saint-Martin. The villa includes some kayaks in order to reach easily this place where you can enjoy beautiful beaches and snorkeling. The villa is very confortable, nice and modern. The very large main room can be fully open on the terrasse and swimming pool. The interior is very clean thanks to cleaning ensured twice a week and the presence of Benedicte, a neighbour who is in charge to take care about you during your stay for every detail. About saint-Martin, we enjoyed more the french part than the dutch part. I would recommend the following beaches "Saint-marcel," "Baie aux prunes",; "Baie rouge". Those beautifull places are quiet, clean and beautifull and good for snorkeling, in particular "Baie rouge" . We also spent a lot of time on the beach so called "Le Galion", the best place for surf and funboard. This beach is also a fair place for chidren.

I found there were good and bad things about this Villa. First the good. The villa was extremely clean and well maintained. It did have good views of the ocean. The owners were very nice and responded to emails and phone calls promply. (Very Expensive to call the island from USA). I liked the bathrooms and showers. The deck was large and had a nice view. The property manager Patricia was a sweatheart and extremely helpful. There was good parking and it was a gated community so we felt very safe. It was close to pinnel island and Orient beach, both of which are absolutely beautiful. Now the bad. I thought the villa was little on the expensive side. It is very much more suited for people from France than the USA. There are 100 Television stations and three are in English. The outlets are NOT compatible with american outlets and there was only one adapter which didn't work very well. The French Side is much more expensive than the Dutch side when using US Dollars. The first morning I was woken up at about 6 am by a barking dog in the house directly next door. The housecleaner was non-personable and did not even emply the dishwasher. I thought it would have been nice if the owners actually personally greeted us when we arrived. However the person they sent was very nice. They recommended a car rental place which we later found out cost about double the going rate for a car rental. The mosquitos were horrible ! I know this is a problem on the island and no fault of the owners but I felt I had to mention it. Made enjoying the nice deck difficult. The lounge chairs were very uncomfortable on the deck. The place is nice, don't get me wrong, but fancy photography made me feel like I was going to be staying in the playboy mansion with an olympic sized swimming pool. The pool was a little small, however it was clean and well maitained. All in all we had a good stay. Just pointing out the good and bad. I would reccomend this place someone from Eurpoe, especially France, but probably not someone from USA.

    Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Owner response: Surprising review ! We Henri and Dominique are very surprised by such comments . Saint Martin French side is a French island : TV is french ( !) , electricity is french , plugs are french .Saint Martin is a foreign country. Aside of that we try our best to have American Guest feel the most comfortable way we can : There are english channel , we provide adaptators ( 2, ok we will add 2 more) , we have a DVD player . This side of the island , compared to the dutch side , is much nicer and preserved from intense developpement . Restaurant are much better , beaches are nicer and undevelopped ( french law forbids construction on the beach ) . High quality makes that’s true the french side a little bit more expensive , but so much nicer and charming . Regarding the « details » , we are very surprised as well : We were not on the island to greet them , so we had a manager welcoming them and staying at there disposal 24 hours /day for any question. The housecleaner is a lovely Lady from Dominica at our service with mutual respect for 3 years. The pool is 23 ft per 15 ft , not olympic , not small but good sized for a 3 double bedrooms villa as it appears on the photos. The Lounge chairs are « Royal Botania » , one of the most luxury brand for outdoor furnitures . The villa is in the carribean ,by the beach , there are some mosquitoes at sunset , a little bit of repellent , screens on the windows and air conditionning keep them away . They reserved a car throught Banana Location at 480 $/week , Kia 4X4 Sportage 2011 , all taxes , 2 drivers , insurance full ,free drive direct to the villa . You don’t find in saint Martin better price from serious renters. We advice this renter because he offers an excellent service , but of course guests rent from whoever they want .. We love our Villa , we love Saint Martin french side for his beauty and his diversity . We try our very best to have the guest from any nationality feel the best during their stay in « Coté Mer »

Outstanding! Marvellous ! Unforgettable! These are just a few words to describe this beautiful hidden place on the island of Saint Martin. « Villa Coté Mer » is just THE perfect place on the water . We so enjoyed the elegance that surrounded and captivated us for seven magical days and nights. We arrived with open minds and what we received far exceeded our expectations. The natural beauty outside, the view of the ocean and warm Caribbean breezes washed over us day and night. Inside, the very pure and design allowed the island’s beauty to saturate our senses with peace and tranquility. The owners were very helpful during the reservation process. Maid service was excellent. Pinel Island was the place to be for lunch , excellent at Karibuni and marvellous snorkeling in the Marine Park . After having traveled the Caribbean extensively, we are happy to have found « The place to be ».

This was our second trip to St Martin, and our first experience with renting by owner. Dominique's communications and instructions made the rental process easy to understand. Upon arrival, the property was well represented online, clean and in good repair. Patricia the caretaker was very friendly and helpful. The villa is contemporary and comfortable, with an entire wall of sliding doors that opens the living area to the villa's patio and pool. It's not right on the water, but there is a lovely view of the water over the rooftops of the neighboring villas, and the beach is only a few steps away. The kitchen is well appointed. There is laundery at the villa. The bedrooms are spacious and air-conditioned, with ample storage and very nice private baths. A small, private beach is shared with a few nearby properties. We enjoyed the kayak, which we used to paddle around the bay and across to Pinel Island, which shelters the bay from the strongest ocean waves. There is a public beach at Pinel, with 3 different bar/restaurants, and some decent snorkeling. Orient Bay is a short drive away, as is a US Market grocery. French wines are in abundance, and reasonably priced. We cooked only mornings and one night, as there are many good restaurants to try. Safari Grill and Le Piment in the market square at Orient Village were two of our favorites. We also had a blast at a little Mexican place right near the villa...sorry, I can't remember the name of it. You will need to rent a car, and make sure you have a good map. Driving on the island, especially at night, can be confusing. The roads are not as developed as we are used to, and road signs are small. Watch out for the scooters, which will dart in and out of traffic. All in all, we only wish that our week could have been longer. Dominique and Patricia made the rental easy and the villa perfect. We would absolutely rent again.
