The neighborhood: This is a really great, safe, fun, family type neighborhood.

It provides:
• Easy walking distance to Central and Riverside Parks
• 4 subway stations within 4 blocks
• Museums (Museum of Natural History 2 blocks away; Metropolitan Museum Of Art is a relaxing walk through Central Park)
• Shopping
• Lincoln Center
• Sunday flea market, etc.

This is a peaceful spot; a very beautiful, comfortable, large and quiet 1 BR furnished apartment in the back of the building, on the 3rd floor of a 5 story walk-up in the West 70's.

It includes:
• A large separate private BR with a small, beautiful stained glass transom window over the top of the BR door, and a window looking out on trees in courtyard. It has a queen sized bed on a very slightly raised hand built wood platform.
• A very large, open LR with 10 foot ceilings, dark wood framing doors and large light gathering window facing south, looking out onto a courtyard and a very large shade tree. LR also includes a large, non-working fireplace w/mantel and mirror. (Candles are okay.)
• Functional kitchen and bath. If you want to stay in and cook, you can pretty much do it all here.
• Open style LR has dark wood framing doors and window
• High speed cable internet.
• 32 inch Toshiba television with a digital converter box and rabbit ear antennae with DVD/VCR

Apt. is in the back of the bldg and generally very quiet.

Stayed here during Hurrican Irene and although had to stay in the apartment more than I had planned it was a comfortable place to hang out in. The owner met me on arrival and was very nice and accommodating..even checking how I was doing during the storm. It has a large window in the living room that looks out on some beautiful trees and backyards. Comfortable bed and basic small NYC kitchen. Close to everything the Upper West Side has to offer...and close to subway to get everywhere else in the city. I'd recommend staying here!

Recommended for:Tourists without a car, sightseeing.
