You just CAN'T GET ACCOMMODATIONS ANY CLOSER to the Silver Queen and Red Lady lifts than the Axtel Building. If you want a true SKI-IN SKI-OUT for your next ski trip, THIS IS IT !!
Just SKI IN for a quick lunch or break and you're right back on the slopes, or take advantage of the many mountain village and slope side restaurants. Ski school is right next door at the Whetstone building.
Relax after a exhilarating day of slope side fun cozying up to one of the two fireplaces (the wood is stacked on the balconies) or catch the free town shuttle (right at the Axtel parking lot entrance) for an evening in Historic Crested Butte. Sit on the balcony and watch as the skiers and snowboarders come down the beautiful snow covered terrain or read a book, people watch or soak in the atmosphere at one of the best Resorts in Colorado.
If you get the chance to come out here in the summer the weather, wild flowers, sightseeing, mountain views, mountain biking, and hiking are incredible.
If you fly in to Gunnision (GUC) Airport it's only 31 miles to the Resort at Mt Crested Butte. It's a beautiful scenic ride through parts of the Gunnison Valley. There are not any passes to go through as CO-135 N goes from Gunnison to Crested Butte and Mt Crested Butte.

- Full Kitchen : Corian counters, Oak cabinets, tile floor. The kitchen conveniently opens to the living area. We have made this our home away from home and it includes a mini foreman grill, a waffle maker, crockpot, large muffin tins, blender, pie plates, milk shake blender, etc. I enjoy making chili and soups in the crock pot for ease in meals when coming in for a quick lunch from the slopes.

- Balcony : One off the bedroom and one off the living area, The view from the balconies are looking at the runs by the Red Lady lift and towards the Mountaineer Square shopping and restaurant area.

- Ski-In : The AXTEL Building units are the CLOSEST accommodations to the two main ski lifts (Red Lady and the Silver Queen). The best part is if you want to take a quick break, lunch etc. just ski right up to the Axtel Building and your home and right back out to the lift in just minutes. This is truly ski in/ski out.
- Ski-Out : Walk out your door, step into your skis and you are within 50 feet to the Silver Queen lift and 75 feet to the Red Lady Lift!!! NO need to rent ski lockers or carry your equipment over a long distance,

- There is a new extra long sleeper sofa in the living room with it's own full bathroom, fireplace and balcony. We are right next door to the Whetstone Building that houses the Kids Ski and Ride School. The Adult ski school and Mountaineer Square are within 200 feet of our condo. Our place has two full bathrooms, two balconies, and two fireplaces. There is a coin operated washer and dryer in the building. Our condo is one of the units in this building that has a FRONT entrance to the slopes and a BACK entrance to the parking lot. This is a great convenience. You really don't need a rental car as the bus shuttle service is great. There is a free town bus shuttle that picks up at the Axtel/Whetstone parking lot every 15 minutes in ski season (30 minutes during off season)for a short ride (approximately 3 miles)into town if you decide to see historic Crested Butte. If you fly into Gunnison Airport (GUC)there is a shuttle service from the airport to the resort (31 miles). It is best to ma

Ski in/Ski Out 50 Feet to the Silver Queen Lift

Why the Owner Chose Mt. Crested Butte
We fell in love with Crested Butte on our first visit in 1998. We found our unit in the Axtel building in 1999. The location and accessibility to the mountain are important to us. Being only a short walk (50 feet to 75 feet)to the Silver Queen and Red Lady lifts and close proximity to the town are terrific.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
There are two balconies in our unit that look out to the base area. One from the bedroom and one from the living room area. In the Winter you can sit and watch the activity around the base area such as skiers and snow boarders approaching the lift areas or coming down the slopes to the Red Lady lift. In the summer you can take the lifts for hiking or biking. Many enjoy taking the biking trip to Aspen. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance or you have a full kitchen to enjoy home cooking. You can ski in for lunch. If you decide to go into town there is a free bus shuttle that will pick you up at the Axtel and Whetstone parking lot. Or you can curl up in front of either of our two fireplaces. The historic town of Crested Butte is a short 3 miles from Mt. Crested Butte for more shopping and fine restaurants.

My wife and I are long-time CB visitors-this was our first stay in this property. We just returned from a four nite stay-- everything is fantastic and the best slopeside location for a couple. Great location for ski- in warm ups as well as easy walks about the Mt CB village. The condo is clean, neatly appointed and well furnished as advertised. Wifi worked very well. Tip: if you don't live at 9,000 feet, the stair climb with your luggage will feel like exercise. My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in January 2010. Absolutely fabulous. This was our first trip to Crested Butte and it won't be our last. This condo is just as described. Incredibly convenient location. Nicely decorated and immaculately maintained.
