Welcome to our house, Catalina, located in Flamingo, Costa Rica and named for the beautiful Catalina Islands which are visible from our rooftop deck. Catalina is only 40 minutes from nearby Liberia (LIR) airport and is located in a secured/gated community. Beautiful Playa Potrero is at the bottom of our street and is a wonderful beach that is great for fishing and offers less crowds, perfect for getting away from it all. The most beautiful beach in Costa Rica, Playa Flamingo, is just around the corner and is a 2 minute drive or 5 minute walk. Playa Flamingo's white sands and small waves offer great body surfing and relaxation.
In the mornings enjoy breakfast and listen to howler monkeys from one of our bedroom verandas or try our amazing rooftop deck. During the day enjoy private sun tanning on our rooftop deck, try either of our local beaches, or enjoy an array of eco-tourism activities.
In the evenings Flamingo offers numerous restaurants for any price range. Want big nightlife? The "pura vida" buzz of Tamarindo is only a 30 minute drive. Feel like staying in? Try Catalina's rooftop deck with wet bar for stargazing. Our house manager will arrange for airport pickup/drop-off, rental car, tourist attractions or anything you need.
Worried about the flight price? Don't be. After 10 years of exlusively travelling to Costa Rica I know all the tricks to find a cheap flight. If you cannot find one, let me know your dates and I'll help.

I'm a cold water surfer from the Northeastern U.S.. I first came to Costa Rica 10 years ago because of the warm water and waves. I immidiately noticed the open arms and warm heart of all Costa Ricans. I went home knowing that Costa Rica was unlike any place I had ever been before. I knew I'd be back. Many years later I was excited when I decided to build a house in Costa Rica and had decided on Flamingo as the ideal spot for me -- close to the good surf breaks and buzzing atmosphere of Tamarindo but far enough way to be relaxed and quiet.
Why the Owner Chose Flamingo Beach
I've been vacationing in Costa Rica for 10 years. I built Catalina 3 years ago after going to Flamingo for the first time. Catalina was designed by me to be the quintessential tropical getaway home with relaxation as a focal point.
The Unique Benefits of this House
The roof top deck/bar is an amazing and unique experience. In the mornings it's good for breakfast or outdoor yoga, during the day it is great for private sun tanning, in the evening it's great for dinner, drinks and stargazing.
