Map & Owner's Profile
Cedarwood -Mountain Home- Great Views- 15 Min. to Breckenridge
Year Purchased: 1985
Why the Owner Chose Fairplay
We built the place in 1985 for family time in the mountains. We picked this spot because it was just two hours from Colorado Springs where we lived and it was just twenty minutes from Breckenridge for skiing. The location was gorgeous. We decided to make it available for rental simply because it's getting harder for us to take the time to get out there. It seemed like other folks might also enjoy the place.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Winter: skiing in Summit county - Breckenridge just 20 minutes away, unlimited cross-country skiing and snowshoeing right outside the door, sledding on the property and at the top of Hoosier pass. Summer: Mountain climbing, hiking, bike riding, fishing, four wheeling, old gold and silver mines, bar-b-cue on the grill and in the fire pit, art and craft fairs and great eating, concerts and golf in Breckenridge.
36 Goldfinch Lane. Down the stairs on right side of cul-de-sac at very end of Goldfinch Place
Owner's Map of Fairplay
My wife Susan and I moved to Nashville, Tennessee after 22 years in Colorado Springs. I am a literary agent and Susan does executive search. We both travel a fair amount but like to get out to the house in Colorado for at least a month in the summer and then a week or two in mid-winter. Our two daughters live with their families in Georgia and Oregon respectively. We have been fairly successful getting all of ten of us together in CO at least a couple weeks a year. Over the last three summers we have had a great time inviting Nashville friends to visit with us in Colorado. We love Nashville but Colorado still owns a big piece of our hearts.

Just below the Continental Divide we found the most beautiful vacation home. It was not far from Breckinridge and we very much enjoyed Fairplay too. The bristlecone pines were fascinating and a "not to miss" site. Perhaps one of our all time favorites was waking up in the master bedroom and looking out at the majestic mountains with the sun shining on them. God in all His glory!

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! It doesn't get any better. The view is breathtaking, the amenities are all here, and the atmosphere is cozy, comfortable and attractive. We were here in August 2009 and loved every moment of our stay. The woodburning stove and the unending supply of wood to burn is a real plus, and access to the house couldn't be easier.

We were guests at Cedarwood in July, 2008. It was a delightful time and we had all the comforts we could want or need. The home is beautiful, spacious and comfortable. We'd love to stay there again. We highly recommend it.

What a great place! Our family thoroughly enjoyed our time in your home. Just 20 minutes to the base of Peak 9 and wonderful snow to play in just outside the door. The beds were comfortable, the water hot, and the kitchen well-stocked. Wish we could stay all winter!

What a wonderful house! It had everything we needed to be relaxed and comfortable. With an easy drive to Breckendridge and so close to some great hikes and river rafting everyone in our family enjoyed vacation! We've rented several homes around the country for vacations and this one is one of the best. We'll be back!
