This small adobe casita beside a lovely old master house was a perfect place for us. From here we could visit our son working at the UNM and also tour the surrounding area. As a matter of fact this was our second visit using this place! We found the hosts very friendly and helpful. It was very clean and organized. It was a beautiful setting in a seemingly safe and ordered part of town. It was just the place we needed and we plan to go back again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you so much for the kind words, Dawn. We are always thrilled when guests come back and stay with us. We hope to have you again! Enjoy your summer - Lori & family

I will definitely try to rent this house anytime I am in Albuquerque. It was very nice, clean and the owners were friendly. My daughter, her husband and two little girls stayed there and it was just the right size. It has a nice-sized kitchen, bathroom and living space. I especially liked the outdoor little courtyard that would be perfect for sitting in and having a cup of coffee - not that we did that or anything.Recommended for: People with disabilities, families with young children, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Peggy - thank you for the lovely review. I am so happy that your family was comfortable in the casita. You are always welcome! Lori

Thanks for your gracious hospitality. We thoroughly enjoyed our quiet and very comfortable stay in your casita. Found our way on foot to UNM, Central Ave., Edo, Downtown, Spruce Park and enjoyed Farina and the Daily Grind for Good meals. Our day trip to Chaco Canyon was a historical and cultural adventure worth the "washboard roads" and the vistas we saw when climbing Sandia Mountian were awesome. Thanks again for providing a great place to stay during our visit. PS - The patio was a great bonus to enjoy on a sunny day.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Our stay at the Casita, was a very pleasant weekend. It was all thet was discribed when we made the rental arrangements. Clean and spacious for two people. My cousin met us there (last minute plan) and Lori was was very helpful with this. Since she made it into town a couple of hours before us, sh got to experience going to old town by taking the bus from the Casita, without any problems. Our stay was too short but, I would difinitely stay ther again, and will recommand it to my family and friends! I would like to Thank Lori, for her great hospitality!!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: I am so happy that the casita worked out for you and your cousin! I only wish the weather had been better for you for the Balloon Fiesta! It sounds like you enjoyed your weekend, regardless. Would love to have you again! Lori

Me and my family just loved the casita! From the first moment we felt really comfortable, it has everything you need and a little more haha! Lori has always been very helpful since the first contact, and very friendly! For those who are in the Albuquerque to study, the casita is actually very close to UNM, just a block away and you're on campus, besides being in a beautiful neighborhood. The ease of being able to cook and have a laundry available is very important for a family or those who will have to stay for a long time! Thank you Lori for everything, in a next stay in Albuquerque we will certainly be in your lovely casita again!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Hi Jaqueline! Thank you so much for the very kind words about the casita. I am so glad that it me your needs. It was wonderful to meet you, if only briefly! I hope the rest of your stay was wonderful and that you will come back and see us again. Lori

I took my daughter to visit UNM campus, and this sweet Casita is literally 1/2 mile or so to where we parked and walked around some of the dorms and campus buildings. It was clean and comfortable, and had the charming southwestern character. It was more affordable than a hotel and much more comfy and we could cook and save money as well. Great Experience!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Hi Katherine! Thank you so much for the kind words. I am so happy that the casita was cozy and convenient for you. I hope if your daughter decides to go to UNM you will stay with us again sometime. Best - Lori

We spent four nights at this charming and well equipped casita. Located in a lovely neighborhood in Albuquerque, it was quiet and private, but provided easy access to UNM, Nob HiIll eateries and shopping and major highways. Our hosts provided lots of helpful informtion about the neighborhood and touring. This is a four star VRBO at an affordable price.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you so much for the lovely review! I am very happy that you enjoyed your saty and that the casita met your needs. I agree about Acoma/Sky City - it is an amazing and very special place. Please come stay with us again when you are next out this way.

This is a comfortable, relaxing casita. It's very private and you can come and go as you please. Lori has provided everything you might possibly need or want, as well as directions on where to find things and how to use them. Everything was very clean; the decor is homey and the atmosphere welcoming. We felt at home right away and enjoyed our entire stay. It was a wonderful couple's retreat! We highly recommend staying there.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Had a nice stay. This is a great little place to stay--perfect for 2. It was hot, but we survived! One thing interesting I did was take a printing workshop at New Grounds Printing on Central Ave, in Nob Hill. It's a great studio with a littl egallery of very nice prints for sale by local artists. We highly recommen a stop in there if anyone is looking for great art to purchase at reasonable prices. Also, check out (for shopping): Vintage Store in Nob Hill, on Central across from Co-Op area; IMEC & Mariposa for fabulous artisan jewelry. Enjoy your stay!Did you find this review helpful? I rented the "Cute Casita" for an extended period in the spring of 2011 while researching at UNM. I would highly recommend this location to anyone visiting ABQ, but especially those who need to spend time on campus, due to its close proximity. The distance to campus is walkable. Major city bus routes are readily accessible. I lived here quite happily without a car (although if you are primarily sight seeing, a car would be wise for time efficiency). The little apartment is extremely cozy with all the amenities you could want. The family who owns the property and lives next door is kind and helpful while still giving visitors plenty of privacy. The neighborhood is ideal for walking or running - beautiful houses and gardens abound in Spruce Park (and it is a safe environment for women traveling alone). I loved working on the patio in the warm sunshine. Some favorite destinations include Frontier Restaurant and the Flying Star Cafe for weekend breakfasts. Check out the shops at Nob Hill (with historic Rte 66 flair) and the movie theater downtown. A great little yoga studio, Bhava, is on the way to the downtown center and features very well trained Anusara instructors for reasonable rates. Farther afield, I would highly recommend visiting Acoma (reservation settlement high atop a rock formation) and the San Isidro house (19th Century ranch home), as well as Santa Fe - which is accessible by rail a short bus ride from the Casita. I remember my stay at the Casita very fondly. I hope that I will be able to return in the future for both work and the pleasure of returning to an extened home.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you so much for the kind words, Ellie! I'm so glad the casita met your needs and provided you a quiet and productive haven to get your work done. Come back any time.

My husband and I arrived at the Casita early in the morning. We were both very pleased and loved what Lori and Renan had done to this beautiful charming, cozy getaway with a great afforable price. It was perfect with all the amenities we needed. Great location close to UNM, hospital, downtown, shops, restaurants, airport, flea market you name it. It was always very peaceful and it is located in a beautiful quiet neighborhood. No hassel with parking (we had our own private driveway) We had a wonderful time. It felt like home away from home. Thank you Lori and Renan for opening up your home and making it afforable and so relaxing. We will be back to continue to explore the beauty of Albuquerque and it's surrounding cities.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I found the Casita very cute & comfortable! Loved being able to walk the neighborhood in the early morning and then come back and have coffee & breakfast on the casita patio. Nice place to read a book and relax in the evening. Lori and family are very welcoming and have created an oasis to return to once your day is done. They have done a great job with the casita and it was delightful to be able to stay in a neighborhood instead of a hotel/motel. Albq. busses are easy to navigate and drivers are very helpful. City has alot to offer and I especially enjoyed Old Town and all the shops and restaurants. Met alot of interesting people, even some from back home. Enjoyed dinner at the bottom of the tram; at Sandiagos - try the fish tacos - they were the best I've ever had! Monte Carlo Steakhouse was very good as well; it is west on Central near KMart. We had to visit since I saw Food Network's Guy Fioreti Route 66 tour and it was featured; along with the Route 66 diner! Also a cute place for a nice lunch or light supper! All in all, a wonderful trip and I can't wait to return. Who knows maybe this baby boomer will eventually retire here. Thanks to everyone in Albq. for making my stay most memorable!! And thanks to Lori and her family for their kindness in sharing their dream on owning in Albq. Hoping to see you again.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Cute little casita, very clean and comfy. Private entrance but main house is close if you have any questions. Owners provided a great little scrapbook with city info. Easy walk downtown, plus restaurants. Learn the bus schedules and you can get around pretty fast! The bus drivers are so helpful! Restaurants I recommend, The Frontier, The Monte Carlo Steakhouse, Church St. Cafe (in Old Town). Take the Tram up to Sandia Peak (buses don't go there so you'll have to have a car, cab cost $30 one way; don't do it), it's cool but don't bother dining at Sandiago's at the bottom of the peak. If I missed going to the peak it would've been OK! Day trip to Sante Fe was a little disappointing, too touristy and expensive....best part was the Indian Dancing in the square~! Albuquerque was fantastic and would love to come back to stay in the same place! Highly recommended!Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, sightseeing.

A wonderful little haven for traveller weary of hotel rooms, fast food, road food, snacks. Attended and participated in a Native food workshop at the University. Some shopping in Nob Hill and the specialty store Talin. Lunch at May Cafe with former comrades. Perhaps a leg stretch on the open space trails. Yoga. On to Santa Fe Farmer's Market and then home to Colorado. Thanks for comfortable accommodation.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Lori & Renan - Thank you so much for sharing your casita with us. We felt completely at home and had everything we needed for our stay. Thanks also for all your great suggestions for things to do and see in N.M. We finally made it to Doodlet's - what a fun place. We got some cute and unusual gifts to share with folks back home. Your restaurant suggestions were super. Tecolote was excellent and a "wake up" call to the difference between St. Louis chile and N.M. chile! We absolutely enjoyed everything we did here. Again, thanks for sharing all of your treasures - your casita, your "enchanting" state and especially your knowledge of Native culture.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We had a wonderful time in Albuquerque and thouroughly enjoyed our stay at your casita. It is very cozy, excellently located and we love the way it is decorated. The provisions supplied were also very thoughtful. We only had three full days here, but managed to see a lot. Santa Fe was fantastic and the pueblos we visited were also very interesting. We also recommend the Petroglyph National Monument, the Museum of Natural History and Science, and the Albuquerque Museum of Art and History. We also enjoyed Old Town, but unfortunately ran out of time for some other museums and places we would have liked to see. If we are ever in the area again we would certainly like to be here again. Lori - We have had a very enjoyable month. The weather has been a wonderful change for us - anything over 20 degrees is a heat wave for us Michigan people this time of year. Seeing the sun as offten as we did is another blessing . . . The casita has been a wonderful home away from home and Patches has felt quite at home and loved playing with your two dogs. Love the decorating you've done. Finding you on the Internet was GREAT. Only hope if we need a place again sometine in the future you won't be booked up. Thanks for all you've done.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

A beautiful casita with the spirit of the southwest throughout. Our stay was indeed wonderful--Lori's attention to detail from the restaurant listings to the olive oil. Excellent location with UNM nearby. We liked this area so much that we are thinking of moving down to this historic area. Also, we are happy that our two dogs were welcome. Walks around the historic streets were enjoyable. Once again thank you.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Gorgeous casita - so beautifully decorated. Like a retreat away from home and being at home too. I'll be sure to tell anyone looking for a place in Albuquerque about this. Thank you so much.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
