I really enjoyed my stay in Cusco. The place was very clean and I had no problems with anything. Javier was spot on with all he recommended and was there to pick me up at the airport and gave me a ride back. Would stay there again.

Javier's condo was a good fit for our family of five. Kids ages 12,10, and 7. The condo was very clean and had everything we needed. Javier had his sisters waiting for us at the airport at 7am when we arrived, because he was out of town that day. His sisters gave us a tour of the condo and also gave us a cell phone to use while there....this was very helpful. Also, keep in mind that there is no heat in the homes in Cusco....that is what the Alpaca blankets are for...however, Javier was so kind to bring us two space heaters to help knock off the night chill. We ate at every restaurant that Javier recommended and they were all really good. Javier gave us a tour of Saksaywaman one day also. He is very knowledgable about the Incan history and did an excellent job involving our kids. Javier also arrange everything for our visit to Machu Picchu. FANTASTIC!! On another night, Javier and I went to a soccer (futbol) match...what an experience. To get around, all 5 of us would get into a taxi to go everywhere and its only 3-4 Soles...about $1.50 US. You can walk to the main square in about 20 minutes, but I would recommend taking a taxi there, THEN walk around...you are at 11,000 ft. Also, if you are sensitive to a little noise while you sleep, take ear plugs. The area is quiet, but the building is made of concrete and sound travels quite easily within it. Sadly, we had to cut short our stay because of a medical issue. Again, Javier was there to help guide us through the Clinica (hospital) and make sure everything went smoothly, and it did. It was much better than the states. Overall, I would highly recommend staying at this condo because it is spacious, clean, and in a good location. But mostly because of Javier!! He is professional, honest, intelligent, and truly wants his guest to be happy.

My husband, 19 and 15 year old sons and I used Javier's apartment as our base for our recent travel to Cusco, the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. He and a driver with a beautiful van picke us up at the airport and helped us get settled. The apartment itself is well furnished, comfortable and totally functional. We ate breakfast there every day and had also cooked a couple of great dinners. Javier's beds were clean and the linens and towels great. The wifi, hot water and TV were also terrific. And Javier was kind and helpful as we planned our touring. He had a busy week with other clients when we were there, but is normally available to act as a guide for his guests. After spending time with him, we have no doubt that he would be great. Another nice touch is that Javier gave us a cell phone to use and called to check in and assist us in any way he could. Due to the fact that we stayed eight nights, we paid a lower nightly rather than is currently listed on this site, so be sure to ask him. Our sons each had a great bedroom to themselves and the master was just perfect for my husband and me. All in all, I truly recommend this well located rental apartment. It generally took us 20 minutes to walk to the Plaza des Armes and we typically took a cab back for $2. We had an amazing adventure in Peru and having Javier's apartment as a home base was perfect.

I had a great stay here with a few friends. The place is relatively large with nice finishes and a full kitchen. Walking about 2 minutes down the road you can catch a cab (aka random car) right to the center of town for about $2-3, a very short ride too. Get in any small car, dont be sketched out. The owner was very hospitable, internet worked, everything was amazing! Plus we saved money by not staying at a hotel, highly recommended!

We stayed at this apartment for 7 days (Jan. 17-24, 2013). We are two couples between the ages of 52 to 68. The apartment is exactly as described in the photos. First of all, the owner, Javier is a terrific host. He picked us up from the airport, gave us lots of information as to what to visit, restaurants, bakery, groceries, everything we needed during our stay. He provided us with a Cell phone so that we could reach him easily. The apartment is on the 4th floor, but we took it easy walking up and had no problems whatsoever doing so. It is a 15-minute walk to the centre of Cusco. We enjoyed walking to the centre of Cuzco every morning, coming back in the afternoon, going out again for dinner and back to the apartment to sleep. For those of you who don't enjoy walking, it is a mere 4 soles for a taxi ride. This equals $2.00 No big deal! The apartment was very clean with extremely comfortable beds. I would recommend this apartment without hesitation as I very much felt at home. Now a word about the owner, Javier. An awesome young man that we grew very attached to. He made the difference in our stay in Cusco. He is a freelance tour guide and we hired him for 3 private tours. He is knowledgeable and extremely passionate about the Sacred Valley. It was a delight to discover his part of the country with him. He also made all of our reservations for Machu Picchu prior to us arriving. Our only regret is that he wasn't our tour guide for Macchu Picchu as he was booked a year ago for that date with another group. One member of my party got sick with Acute Altitude Sickness. If it wasn't for Javier, I'm unsure of what we would have done. He made sure that she received excellent treatment, he stayed at the hospital with her husband until things were in control, he chose the private clinic and he was available to us during that crisis as we needed him. We can't thank him enough. We were very fortunate to have found him through the rental of his apartment. We would do this again in a heartbeat!!

Staying at Javier's place over a hotel was absolutely the best decision! Javier was kind enough to arrage for transportation at the airport and was kind enough to help us arrange a tour to visit Machu Picchu as well! Also, his condo is extremely clean, luxurious, and welcoming. He also assisted us in ordering Pizza late at night! Check out his tour agency as well (search Inkatraces on Google). I have absolutely 0 reservations recommending Javier. -RP from USA

This apartment was very clean and comfortable. There were five of us and the apartment had three rooms with two double beds and one single bed. The beds were clean, spacious, and comfortable. Nothing to complain about there. The sleeping situation was perfect. We had access to the internet and the kitchen. There is a nice living area with TV and nice dining room. It was truly home away from home. The location of the apartment is not that close to the center; however, the cab fare in Cuzco is super cheap. The apartment is actually very close to the bus station, so we just walked to the bus station to catch the bus to Puno when we were leaving Cuzco. Javier is very responsive to our needs and requests. He helped us with orientation and bus situation. We did run out of hot water on the last two nights, but I believe that had to do water supply of Cuzco rather the apartment itself. Even then Javier was came over the help us with the water heating situation. Overall I would definitely recommend fellow travellers to stay in this apartment.

The description of the apartment is not accurate. The positive part of the apartment is Javiar. He was very attentive and responded to some of our concerns. He arranged for a driver to take us to the train at Poroy and the return trip to the airport. The apartment was misrepresented-the walk was not 15 minutes but 35 minutes to the center of town. The apartment is noisy, in fact the neighbors partied until 3:30 am one evening and we could hear the music as if it was in our living room. The only hot water in the apartment is in the shower and it was not easy to access. The apartment was not clean. We were provided with towels but one was dirty, smelly and stained. The internet was completely unreliable and the connection was poor. This apartment has potential if the above issues are corrected.

Owner response:  Dear guest ,I understand probably your stay was not so comfortable as you expected since there were some unusual inconveniences , but all what you mentioned was already outdid in 100% . Thank you for writing  Javier .

I am a little slow in writing this, but we had a great time in Cusco/Macchu Picchu. Javier was great, picking us up at the airport, hiring us a cab for two days to tour Ollytantambo, Pisac, etc. He even provided us with a cell phone (which came in handy). As non-Spanish speakers, Javier's help with our adventure was greatly appreciated. After setting our reservation with Javier, he also booked our Macchu Pichu visit. We did the one day hike and overnight at Macchu Picchu. Everything was great. The accomodations are a 15 minute walk to the city center. A grocery store is several blocks away, and there are some ruins along the walk. We would walk up early in the evening, have dinner, and return by cab (they are inexpensive in Cusco). As a three bedroom - plus a dining area and living area, there is more than enough room for a family to stay here. Though it was just me and my wife, we appreciated having the extra space. Building is secure with several locked gates. Overall, we would rent again and had a very positive experience. As has been mentioned before by another guest - this unit is on the third floor of the building. There are no elevators in Cusco. We got conditioned as the week went on....but the first day with luggage left us gasping for air! Thanks Javier

My friends and I (4 of us in total) rented the condo from Javier for 3 nights prior to our Inca Trek. Javier picked us up from the airport despite our plan arriving 2.5 hours later than expected. He drove us around the city and then showed us around the condo. He answered any of our questions and we decided later that evening to hire Javier and a private driver for an all-day tour the next day of Chinchero, Ollantaytambo, and Pisac. Javier was an excellent tour guide. His English is great and we all really enjoyed his company and knowledge. One of our friends left something behind in the van that night and Javier tracked it down and returned it to us. Javier was very friendly, easy to work with, and staying in his condo was an excellent choice for us. The location was a 15 minute walk from the center square or a 3 minute cab ride. The apartment was clean, spacious, and has great large windows that let in light which we enjoyed during breakfast each morning. We all had a wonderful time in Peru and Javier and the condo added to it!
