Thank you for welcoming us into your beautiful home! We landed in Phoenix, AZ – it hit 120 degrees and we asked ourselves “what were we thinking?” Then we stopped at the Chapel of the Holy Cross in Sedona and the Grand Canyon and knew we were headed in the right direction. We arrived at the cabin when it was dark so had to wait until morning to see the amazing view of Ute Mountain; however, we were able to enjoy the stars and Milky Way right from your deck. The inside of the cabin was more than we anticipated and we settled right in. Your place is so clean and the beds were very comfotrable - two of my top priorities when renting. My favorite place was on the deck with my camera and binoculars where I saw so many black-chinned and rufous hummingbirds. Before I forget, here is the EASY recipe for sugar water for the hummingbird feeder: HUMMINGBIRD FOOD: Fill the 4-cup glass measuring container with 1 cup of sugar. Add 2 cups BOILING water and stir until dissolved. Add ice cubes until you are above the 4-cup line and stir until the water cools. Rinse the hummingbird feeder with warm water before adding fresh mixture. You can refrigerate this mixture for up to 2 weeks, but please be sure to change the water two times a week when the temperatures are high. The feeder will probably be empty by that time anyway because you will be amazed at how many hummingbirds you see at one time (usually 6 or more). Also if you add water to the birdbath located in front of the deck, you will see Mountain Bluebirds and many other birds drinking and bathing in the morning and throughout the day. We also enjoyed watching the storms from the deck…the lightening was amazing! We loved Mesa Verde National Park (be sure to see Cliff Palace, Balcony House and Spruce House). Take a breathtaking day trip to Telluride and be sure to ride the FREE gondola. We even enjoyed our non-planned stop in the small town of Rico (had to stop there on the way back due to an “incident” with a crazy man and explosives) but the people in that town were so friendly and there was no way to take a detour with a rental car. I promise you that you will love this cabin. Once you get there, sit back and enjoy the wonderful surroundings and if you venture out, enjoy the friendly people in this area. Thanks again, Lana! This house was just perfect for the start of our honeymoon. The location is magnificent. We went hiking, enjoyed the hot tub, the wildlife and relaxed. The first day we had beautiful weather it got windy at nightfall. The next day while we were packing up it started sleeting then turned sunny as fast as the sleet rolled in. Thank you so much for renting out this property. We hope to come back someday.

Lovely and comfortable home. We had a snowstorm....So glorious up here at the end of the day, was warm and cozy. Mesa Verde was our reason for being here. Also spent a few hours in Durango....lovely spot, especially before the summer crouds arrive! Southwest Colorado is beautiful...And so is all of our favorite state!

House was great, weather was great for the two weeks which was handy as it didn't stop us doing anything. Very comfortable bed! There is a good walk up sand Canyon but I wouldn't bother with it. Sand Pueblo as there are many trees you cannot see a thing and need a vivid imagination. Saturday Farmers Market is good for vegetables. The rumbling of the hot tub disturbed the peace! It is all about location and this place has it.

We three lady geologists had a great time during our stay during our "Girl Getaway". Weather was perfect, scenery stupendous and archeological secrets to the past were mysterious and intriguing. Great fun!! Sand Canyon provided a great opportunity for exploration and discovery and to see how unrestored ruins are a picture of the past. Bring your imagination! Saturday Farmers Market in Cortez not to be missed! Loved the house-very comfortable and homey Drinks to celebraate our great fun out on the deck in the evening were special. Stars and Milky Way unbelieveable!! Thanks!!
