This is a beautiful, custom-built log home located just outside of downtown Seward. The previous owners spent ten years building the house, and cut down and hand-peeled all the logs themselves. It's a true Alaskan work of art, and there's nothing else like it in the Seward area.
We purchased the home in 2007, and live in a small apartment over the detached garage on the property. So, we are around to help with local activities and information and make sure you get the most out of your vacation! We have two dogs that live with us and play in the yard, but are not allowed in the log home. We also run a local kayak shop in Seward, offering guided sea kayaking trips in Resurrection Bay and Kenai Fjords National Park.
This house provides a very comfortable home-away-from home while you're traveling, with all the amenities. The full kitchen is there for your use, there are large common areas - a huge slate fireplace surrounded by leather couches, TV / VCR / DVD / High speed internet computer / Wi-Fi / Stereo, a grill and hot tub on the large front deck, a small covered back deck, etc. The house is modern and very clean, but cozy and comfortable. End your day relaxing in the hot tub or grilling out your fresh catch, while enjoying the view of Mt. Alice from the deck.
You can rent out the whole house for a group of 6 or more people, or you can rent out rooms individually for smaller groups and share the house with others. It's a great way to meet people and live in a comfortable home while saving on costs! Look us up... "Seward Bear Paw Lodge".

$600 / night for the whole house, plus tax. Maximum of 10 people. Individual room rentals possible as well. Call for pricing. $500 refundable security deposit required for all whole-lodge bookings. Master suite has 2 queen beds, full size futon, and private bath. Two queen rooms have a queen bed in each. One bunk room has a twin-over-full bunk bed. Everyone must sleep in a bed.
