Amelia Palms is very well managed and available amenities are excellent! That said, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay; even though we were here for our daughter's wedding and did not have as much time to enjoy all the amenities. Our three granddaughter's enjoyed the house which is very well suited for a large group. This will be a definite stop for us in future travels; and we have highly recommended it to our friends. Thank you Charlene for your gracious assistance and making our stay a pleasant experience. Regards John and Fran
Owner response:Dear John & Fran, I am thrilled the wedding was flawless! I'm also very glad you had a good time. It was my pleasure to be of assistance to you. Please do come back for another visit! Happy Thanksgiving! Blessings, Charlene

This was our first trip to Amelia Island, and we had such a great vacation! This house is beautiful, comfortable, and has everything for an action packed or relaxing vacation. We really appreciated all the extras provided with this rental --from the two golf carts and bikes to the little things we didn't have to buy like laundry soap, shampoo, aluminum foil, spices, etc. I enjoyed the book selection, and the bottle of wine on our arrival was so appreciated! The activities we enjoyed the most were the bikes and the golf courses. We had so much fun on the bikes. We agreed that the plantation's bike trails were even better than the ones in Hilton Head! We played the Ocean Links and Oak Marsh courses. I enjoyed the Ocean Links course more, and my husband enjoyed the Oak Marsh more. Both were awesome! Charlene was great to work with. We had a question about the hot tub and called her. She was available and answered it quickly. You can tell she put a lot of thought into creating a special place for vacationing families! We also appreciate that this home was pet friendly. Our dog had a wonderful time! He especially enjoyed his ride in the golf cart to the beach every day! We would highly recommend this vacation rental! If possible, We'd love to go back again! Thank you Charlene for everything! Ben and Deana
Owner response:Dear Ben & Deana, I'm thrilled you had such a good time! Thank you for your kind words. Hopefully, you all will be able to come back year after year. Thank you again. Blessings, Charlene

The best kept secret in NE.florida. Being from Jacksonville we did not want to go very far yet our whole family felt like we were a million miles away. This vacation far exceeded my expectations. The area is paradise, everyone was so nice. I took my dogs with me everywhere and everyone kept telling me bring them in, no big deal. The house was beautiful, it was fully stocked with every amenity needed and then some. When we walked in we felt like we were at home. I'm already trying to figure out an excuse to go back even if its the winter. There is a hot tub and the entire house is very cozy! You know its a good vacation when you get the vacation blues the day before you go home. Thank you so much for allowing my family to have such a memorable vacation without having to go too far. I don't even think excellent is the correct rating, I would say superbly peaceful. Without a doubt one of the best places I've stayed in many years and I've traveled the world. Thank you again.
Owner response:Kelly, thank you for your kind words. So glad you and your family had a great time and I look forward to your return visit. Blessings,

We just got back yesterday from a five night stay at Amelia Palms. We invited my in-laws and we all enjoyed the beautiful, spacious accomodatiins, as well as the gorgeous backyard, swimming pool and spa! The pictures really do not do this place justice! We stay at Amelia Island Plantation every summer and this was the best place yet! We will be back next year. The golf carts were an added bonus, because usually we rent them from the plantation, but this year we didn't have to. Charlene was fantastic to work with. She even called to check on us to make sure everything was just how we needed it! Thank you again, and you should be hearing from us soon about renting again next summer!
Owner response:Dear Joey & Crystal...thank you for your review. I do want all guests to have the time of their lives & make wonderful memories. Hope you and your family will come back for another visit.

My husband's family and I stayed at this lovely home in November 2009. We desperately want to go back to Amelia Island and this is the first home that I checked for availability. When I saw the one negative review, I felt compelled to submit a review of our stay, albeit late. Charlene was an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish. She allowed us to bring our dogs which was huge to us as we don't travel anywhere without them. She was beyond accommodating and made sure every last detail was taken care of before, during and after our stay. The home was simply gorgeous and although there were nine of us, we never felt crowded. It had every amenity one would need and some. The neighborhood was just as lovely and the "locals" as friendly as can be. We went for daily walks and people stopped us every time to talk and to pet our dogs. Local shop owners actually came out of their stores to bring our dogs water and treats. We visited Fernandina Beach, went horseback riding, took bike rides, and of course, made good use of the owner-provided golf carts! It was too chilly to swim in the pool but sitting by it was so relaxing. This is one vacation rental home that we can't wait to get back to!!
Owner response:Janice, thank you so much for your kind words. I do take pride and pleasure in making all guests as happy as possible. Please do come back...there have been some changes and upgrades since your visit. Again, thank you & have a blessed summer.

With this being our third trip to AIP, the entire family agrees this was "our best trip yet!" Charlene was a delight to work with and everything is just as the photos and descriptions advertise. The beds were sooo comfortable, the linens and towels extra luxurious! The bathrooms were straight out of "House Beautiful" magazine. The kitchen was updated and it was so great that paper goods, dish and laundry detergent and spices were provided. We cooked several meals and enjoyed dinner on the patio most every night, poolside! We even roasted marshmellows and made sa'mores in the outdoor chimney! My 2 girls loved the golf carts and the hubby and I raced to get to the red one ( it is the fastest). Amelia Palms is truely a special "home away from home" that we hope to return to soon!
Owner response:Stephanie, so glad you all had a good visit & hope you can make it back this August...let me know.

My wife, our friends and I have been traveling together and staying in VRBOs for 12 years now. This is the first time we found the home to be exactly as advertised. Everything actually works in this home, a real pleasant surprise. Spending all of our days cooking in a professional kitchen, we found it a pleasure to turn out some amazing meals in this home's kitchen. On the nights we didn't want to cook, a short golf cart ride away were two great places to eat. Without leaving the neighborhood and on our golf carts we went to the beach, pool, pool bar, the deli for fresh fish for the barbeque, shopping for the girls and well equipped gym which I did not use because I am lazy. Although you will want to check out downtown Fernandina Beach, minutes away, once you arrive at this home you do not need your car again until you leave. Take the cart down to Walkers Landing for the sunsets and the beach for the sunrise. The people are nice everywhere you go, they are actually glad that you are there, a real treat for those from the Northeast. Charlene could not be easier to work with, the communication is excellent. Fred and I nap tested and approved the couches while the girls shopped. The pool guys were in and out quietly numerous times and kept the outside looking sharp. My wife had this house in her favorites for two years, and we are now sorry we didn't get there sooner. Our only disappointment was that we did not get a chance for a fire in the fireplace, but that was because during our two weeks the weather was perfect every day. Oh, and if you go with your friends make sure that you get the red cart. It's faster than the green one! The four of us decided that this was our best trip yet and a lot of that decision was based on the comfort of this home and the friendliness of the people. We will repeat this vacation sometime in the future. Thanks again Charlene for opening your lovely home to us!
Owner response:Chris, family & friends...thank you so much for your kind words. I'm so glad the weather worked with you during your stay. I know you enjoyed the break from the cold in PA. Maybe when you come back I can have even a faster golf cart available. Such a pleasure having you and your family as guests. Blessings...

My recent stay was enjoyable. The owner Charlene was very easy to work with. The use of 2 golf carts was a nice touch. The beds are very comfortable. Internet and TV's are a plus. The windows and outside of the house were filthy and in much need of a good power washing and clean up. There is an old car in the garage collecting dust and is an eyesore. The 3rd bathroom is outside by the pool (this should be disclosed in VRBO.) The furniture in the living room is dated. There are only 4 chairs in the dining room (only place to eat.) The kitchen needs updating. There are too many fake plants collecting dust throughout the house and yard. The pool was not cleaned or covered. The house is very dark inside,,,mostly due to the dark paint and dirty windows.
Owner response:So glad you had a good stay @ Amelia Palms. You certainly didn't mind my waiving your cleaning fee, & paying the taxes from your discounted rental fee trying to work with you. I've learned being a rental property owner that you cannot please everyone. I'm sorry you could not have visited subsequent to our scheduled "spring" cleaning.
