Most amazing and unique beach house. ALL funiture in the entire house was replaced in 2010, including all beds, linens. Upgraded and added flat screen TV's with DVD players in ALL rooms. Upgraded the media room with a 60' LCD Flat Panel with full surround sound. We are less than 300 steps to the beach and our home is the best entertaining home on North Forest Beach with be most stunning backyard with the largest custom pool around (35' x 15'), a 8' in diameter hot tub, and outdoor shower. This house if perfect for any family and can keep kids of all ages entertained with the pool table, air hockey table, fooseball table, and awesome archade style basketball game. Lay out by the pool, soak in the hot tub, play a few games with the kids, or hang out on one of the many furnished decks; regardless of what you choose, you will come back year after year for your family vacation.
This 5,000+ interior sq.ft. beach home has countless custom features and over 7,000' of total living space. 16 Mallard includes over 2,000 square feet of outdoor living space and is just steps to one the best beaches on the island. For privacy and safety, this home is located on a quiet family-oriented, neighborhood cul-de-sac. Featuring 7 bedrooms and 5.5 bath, this home will comfortably sleep 20+ people.
We can easily accomodate 10+ cars with our three (3) car garage and dual driveways.
Through the oversized Alder entry door and up six stairs is the foyer with ceilings that soar 26'. This is the main level, which can also be accessed from the driveway stairs, onto the spacious front eating porch and into the kitchen. And what a kitchen! It is a cook's dream with the latest European appliances. Over to the foyer and down a few steps next to the main entry is a private bedroom suite (containing 2 Queen Beds) and bath. Back up to the main floor you will find an entire level with antique heart pine floors. This level houses two bedroom suites, one king and the other queen w/ private bathrooms, and a laundry area. But we're not through yet! As well as the gourmet kitchen, there is living room and dining room, an open floor plan that can accommodate large groups. Perfect for entertaining, this level also includes a media room, with 65' flat screen LCD TV and surround sound system which can broadcast music throughout the home, deck, and pool (have an Ipod, bring it along). Ascending the circular staircase half way is a children's' suite, on the mezzanine level, with includes both bunk beds, a twin daybed, and bath. Continuing to the top of the stairs is a loft overlooking the foyer, which leads to the master suite. This suite consists of a king bedroom with sitting area, HUGE bathroom with dual vanities, large balcony overlooking the luscious pool area, and phenomenal 'Japanese stone soaking tub's well as walk-in shower with dual shower heads. A second bedroom containing another king bed makes this 'master suite' truely one of the best. A second washer and dryer is also found here with a very large walk in closet.
All lighting in 16 Mallard is on dimmers, creating any ambiance you desire. One special feature you won't find in other rentals, is a house wide, instant hot water system; from any faucet, get hot water in seconds. A 10' wall of glass from the great room allows entrance to the rear covered porch where the gas BBQ grill is located. Across a covered walkway is a separate building which houses a studio apartment, with 2 sets of bunk beds (4 Full beds with one converting to futon/couch sitting area) and 1/2 bath. The lower deck leads to a large natural stone pool area. This tropical space is very private and surrounded by a wall of lush bamboo. The unique salt water pool and spa can be heated for an additional charge.
For entertainment, there is a lanai and game room, with a full size slate pool table, basketball game, and both covered and open seating areas adjacent to the pool deck. The spa/hot tub is attached to the pool but in its own private grotto. Outside speakers are on separate volume controls. A lockable beach gear storage area provides space for surf boards, bikes and beach chairs. Finally there is an outdoor shower for your pleasure following a day at the beach.
Suitable for multiple families, company retreats, or a getaway with friends, comfortable luxury is the key to a vacation at 16 Mallard Street. Catering, massage therapists and yoga instructors can be arranged. This home is truly a masterpiece of natural stone, wood and incredible unique architectural features.

25 people had the best time. We didn't have to leave the house or pool, lots of room for everyone. This house should be on your list. With the temp at 34 outside the pool at 85 and the hot tube at 100 we had a ball--the kids wouldn't get out. We ate, and ate, we had everything we needed to cook with. My family just loved this house. We did go to the beach-not a far walk-took pictures then right back to the house. Why would you go any place else???? The ladies took walks, the guys took runs, we went shopping, we spent a day in Savanna--we are coming back and it will be at this house.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children.

This home could not have been more perfect. There were so many things exceptional about this home that it would be hard to list them all. We certainly appreciated all the attention the owners have given to making it easy and enjoyable to spend the week there. (Labeling lighting, dimmers, plenty of refrigerator room, ice machine, sound system, great game room, modern and up to date on everything, etc, etc, etc. The pool was perfect with the beach like shallow end for little ones and large enough to accomodate large groups. Wonderful, private backyard with plenty of seating for relaxing and watching the kids in the pool. We were more than pleasantly surprised with the accomodations considering we just could see pictures from the internet. The beds were wonderful too... Wished we could come each summer. But if we ever make it back to hilton head, we will definitely check with you. Thanks again.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, age 55+.

Everything we could have asked for and more... We were 10 adults and 8 children and there was more room than we needed. Clean and fabulous amenities and comfort. Great location and gorgeous backyard and decking. Loved all the extra touches the owners put into this house. We had a wonderful time at your beautiful home. Everything we needed was right there. The house is 2 easy blocks from the beach. Some of us rented bikes at a very reasonable rate. The house is convenient to shopping, dining, and sightseeing. The pool was just the right size and provided a lot of downtime for the children. The hot tub was wonderful day and night because of the shade. We enjoyed going to Sea Pines, Savannah, and thrift shops. I recommend the Old Fort Pub for dinner. The description did not include the fact that one bedroom was a pass-through to the back bedroom. There was adequate dining space for all of us, and the porches made even the rain enjoyable. The large dining and foyer area made possible a ballet recital by some of the girls. The house was immaculate when we entered it, as were the grounds. All in all, it was one of the best vacation homes we've ever rented.Recommended for: Girls getaway, sightseeing, families with teenagers, families with young children, age 55+.

16 Mallard was a beautiful spacious home with lots of attention to small details. The home had all accommodations, including items for babies, a computer, games, surround sound, media room, etc. We slept 6 adults and 8 children (6 yrs and under) very comfortably with room for several more. The large kitchen was perfect for a big group. The house was so spacious that we never felt on top of each other. This home is truly a perfect vacation getaway! Very spacious, well appointed, luxury furnishings, fully stocked, beautiful porches for coffee in the morning, a home away from home! We had several adults for a reunion stay and with separate bathrooms in each bedroom there was total privacy. The outdoor areas are fantastic, it's a short jaunt to the beach every morning to walk, a short drive to everything you need for the week for shopping, restaurants and spa! We would stay again and recommend to all our friends, a true gem and perfect in every way! We even played board games every night...Look no further this house is what you're looking for!!!Recommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, families with young children, age 55+.

We rented this home to have our annual family reunion. There were 16 of us. This home afforded us plenty of room, great amenities (the bathrooms are to die for), a fabulous and well stocked kitchen (everything you need to create a great dining environment), very comfortable bedding, and close proximity to the beach. The pool area was great for lounging, soaking up the sun, and enjoying the hot tub! All in all this property has it all. The owners were very thorough and great to work with. we had the best vacation any family could ask for the house is beautiful and you would never know that we had 16 people with us the studio work so welll for the 4 boys and the 3rd floor suite was great for our famlily from n.j. the house had so much to offer that we did not go out a lot. but stayed home and enjoyed the pool hot tub games room and media room GREAT. GREAT.GREATRecommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, families with young children.

WHAT A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE - We had a Fantastic Week together in a Fabulous Home! Everything about your property is great for all ages and interests. It "is" just as it is pictured - comfy, cozy, fully decorated, convenient, lots of room, clean & well maintained. Great Beach - rent a bike - you can tour & exercise to your heart's content. The Pool area is great for Sun Lovers or Shade Lovers, and made a great Beach Ball Volley Ball area for our very active teens (and adults). The Owner couldn't have been more helpful - by phone re email. The Information Packet you receive is extremely useful and informative. We will definetly recommend your home to everyone we share our experience with - it sure put the "Happy" in our Celebration!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, age 55+.
