The Sugar Mill Villa is a unique One of a Kind Villa with unbelievable views to die for of the Caribbean Sea. Judith's Fancy is the name of the Private, Gated, Waterfront Community where the Sugar Mill was built as a guest and pool house in the 1960's. This wonderful property is centrally located Mid-Island, on the North Shore of St. Croix just 3.5 miles from Christiansted and only 15 minutes from the Henry E. Rohlsen Airport.
Relax on the 2100' sundeck with a pool and hot tub that is surrounded on three sides by hundreds of palms giving privacy and an outstanding view of the Caribbean Sea and nearby islands. Enjoy tropical breezes, bird watching, look for iguanas or just sit and relax all with the Caribbean Sea right in front of you.
Judith's Fancy is the first Gated Community on St. Croix. There are 383 acres here and barely 125 homes. It is a quite, relaxing neighborhood enjoyed by many walkers, runners and surfers as well.

Year Purchased: 1999
I fell in love with St. Croix in 1990 just one year after Hurricane Hugo destroyed much of the island and it's yachts. Over the last almost 20 years St. Croix has been revived and gotten better and better. I grew up in DE then lived in Germany for 5 years and graduated from the University of Maryland in Munich, Germany. Europe is a wonderful place to live but when I discovered the beautiful island of STX with beautiful clear warm water and always warm temperatures I wanted to make it my home. I am currently own a 60' ketch, NIRVANA, and enjoy sailing to other islands with my two wonderful Chesapeake Bay Retrievers, Cruzan Troubles and Cruzan Sailor.

I decided it was a great idea to buy a unique home that was actually built as a replica Sugar Mill. It has such awesome views of the Caribbean and nearby islands and that I decided it would be a great place share with visitors to St. Croix and offer them as much personal service and experience so all can enjoy my island and unique home during their stay so they want to return many times.

Thanks are not enough to express our gratitude to Catherine and Rich, owners of the Sugar Mill Villa of St. Croix, USVI, for making our stay on the island so lovely and memorable. The Villa is beautiful and amazing, with every amenity available, in a setting that exudes peace and tranquility. From the moment we arrived, we felt relaxed and cared for by Catherine and Rich whose support and attention to our needs exceeded all expectations. Their wealth of knowledge about things to do, places to go, and places to eat is amazing. This knowledge, along with their gentle laid back attitudes and willingness to share their time, made our stay on St. Croix more like visiting life long friends than renting from strangers. Many times throughout the week we marveled at how lucky we were to have found the Sugar Mill Villa amidst all of the random properties listed on the internet. We look forward to returning again soon, and we will be sure to recommend the Sugar Mill to anyone we know interested in a tropical paradise vacation.

The Sugar Mill Villa on St.Croix was AMAZING! The pictures simply don't do this property justice. Richard and Catherine have added significantly onto the property-a great new deck with large stone table, hot tub and lots of lounging room which sits over a living area with 2 huge bedrooms and another living room. The master bedroom in the top of the sugar mill, which is reached by an outdoor staircase was sumptuous. King sized bed, bathroom and private. The loft on the main level was a little cramped for 2 teen girls to sleep in (they like to spread out), but it was a neat niche in the home. The outdoor shower was a unique experience, but the door between the shower and the house must be kept closed to keep out the mosquitos (we learned the hard way!). It was so nice to have a kitchen and plenty of areas for our party of 10 to spread out. Catherine has scattered plenty of books and magazines with local information around the property, and reading them enhanced our experience. There is a welcome book with information about the house, shopping (especially grocery stores) and activities available on the island that quite essential to getting along so well on the island. It was such a treat to be picked up at the airport by Catherine and Richard in their limos-the only way our trip could have been any better, was if we got a ride back to the airport in the limos! HIghly recommended-especially for big groups!
