Bonita Bay is a nature lovers paradise, with eighteen miles of biking and walking paths. Located on a nature preserve, the Bonita Bay property is a habitat for Eagles, Ospreys, Manatees, Quail, and Armadillos. It is bordered by the Imperial River to the south, the Gulf of Mexico to the West, and numerous small estuaries and lakes to the north. In addition to the extensive walking and biking paths, activities available include swimming, tennis, kayaking, canoeing, and fishing.
In addition to the Harbor Lakes private swimming pool and hot tub area, Bonita Bay has a private beach park. You can get there on the hourly shuttle service, or you can go by car and arrive within 5 minutes. The staff at the beach will gladly set up lounge chairs and umbrellas for you.
There is also an onsite shopping and relaxation area ("the Promenade") with restaurants, coffee shops, and beautiful waterfalls throughout.
A short drive down Tamiami takes you to the popular and affluent community of Naples where you can enjoy great restaurants, art museums, music, visit the old TIn City, or take boat tours from the Naples City dock.
Finally, the weather just cannot be beat. Even when the rest of the state is socked in with rain, this part of Florida seems to sustain sunshine and a more temperate climate.

Why the Owner Chose Harbor Lakes
We chose this location mostly for the great weather, and the fact that this property is on a nature preserve and surrounded by lush natural beauty. We have also taken advantage of the free kayaks and canoes to explore the backwaters, and the kids have really enjoyed the festivals and concerts in Riverwalk park. There are three parks on the property - one hosts regular festivals and celebrations with lots of games, face-painting, music etc for the kids, and also has tennis courts, basketball, and a playground. The other two are more natural, one with a butterfly garden and boardwalk into the mangroves, and the other with lots of eagles and free canoes and kayaks for exploring the backwaters.
The Unique Benefits at this Villa
I think the best benefit is that we have private beach park right on the Gulf of Mexico, with very nice staff who set out umbrellas and lounge chairs for you, an outdoor grill restaurant during high season, and private gazebos and grills available for picnics. It is so much more tranquil than the public beaches, especially during peak season.

My parents have been wintering in this area for awhile, and the whole family has come to love it. We all love the outdoors, and the beautifully maintained grounds with 18 miles of walking and biking paths just can't be beat. We also love that there is a gorgeous private beach park with staff who set up umbrellas and chairs. And finally, we love the amenities of the Naples area, and enjoy attending the weekend art fairs, concerts in the park, or the Naples Art Museum (it is fabulous!).
