  My family & I want to thank you for such a wonderful place to relax, have fun and spend time with our family before & after my daughter's wedding. Sixteen of Us happily stayed together & had plenty of room & relaxing amenities to take advantage of. The location was perfect for the wedding at the nearby hotel facility & the wedding was absolutely beautiful on the beach, the weather was perfect everyday,except for a few rain drops just before the ceremony.... that just kept the sand from blowing :) Yall's house is amazing, spacious, views are awesome and again we thank you & love everything about the home. We go to Nags Head usually twice a year and we have been for many years. This trip has topped them all. Thank you for making my daughter & new son in law's wedding even more special & amazing. It has been a pleasure keeping in touch with you. We hope to return to Sails I in the future. Thanks Again :)

  Just returned from our 11th annual volleyball on the beach trip. We had 19 people including 2 small children, and the house had plenty of space for all of us. This was our first time staying at Sails One, and the owners were very kind and accommodating. They allowed us to stay a partial week (rare on the Outer Banks). The house was clean, well maintained and cozy, but spacious. We've stayed at a few other large homes in south Nags Head, and this one was the nicest. There were plenty of linens and towels provided. There was enough parking for 8 cars and a boat trailer. One nice feature about the house was that it not only had an outdoor shower, but it also had an outdoor bathroom, so that you didn't have to trudge inside with sandy feet just to use the restroom. The location is fantastic. It's very close to Jeannette's pier, which has been rebuilt and is a cool place to visit. You can walk to 7-11 and Sam & Omie's. And you are just one minute away from the bypass by car. We were dubious about the two adjacent hotels, but it turned out to be a non-issue. The Dolphin Motel is single story, so you actually look down on its roof from the upper decks. The Comfort Inn is situated at an angle, so that when we were playing volleyball on the beach in front of the house, none of the hotel windows were looking directly at us or the ocean. In fact, it provides a nice wind barrier on days with a southwest wind. All in all, we were extremely happy with the house, and we hope to stay there again next year.

  We had 4 families in this house at one time, 23 people (several were children), and there was plenty of space to spread out. The view from the top-level deck was awesome! The "early birds" really enjoyed watching the sunrise. Great location - felt very private, but yet within walking distance to stores. The Tanger Outlets are very close by; also great dining and entertainment. The property manager came by on Wednesday and cleaned the sand out of the pool and jacuzzi - that was great! And they were very attentive to any needs we had. It was a perfect week that our family would love to do again sometime!!

  Our group of friends have been doing a summer beach trip for the past 5 years within Myrtle Beach and Nags Head. This year was one of the most horrible experience. The house was spacious and had a nice view. However, the house is pretty run down and not quite clean. Our master bedroom on the top floor had stains and broken pieces on the toilet seat, and when I started to take a shower the shower head starts making this loud whistle sound like a fire alarm. The front door to the house will not shut without you slamming it really hard to get it shut. After a couple of days of staying there, we stayed up late one night to play games and saw a mouse running from the living room to the kitchen and went under the refridgerator. We all scream and had to jump on the sofa. Some of the guys went to look for it but could not get it to come out. Called the maintenance number that was posted on the fridge and report the incident to them ( big mistake, tell you later). Someone came out and put in mice traps through out the house. Then Thursdday night we stayed up again to play games before heading home the next day, once again we saw the mouse running around the living room area and around the kitchen space. I had my legs up on the chair the whole entire time that we were up playing. After the vacation we had contacted the owner for the deposit to be return. He then gave us a hard time about not calling him first rather than calling the management company and that he might charge for not obeying the contract. First off, if there was no mouse/mice in the house we would not have called management. He tried to blame us for the missing buttons on the sofa which was not there on the first day when we arrived and thank god we have pictures to prove it. We had to email back and forth with this guy for over a month until he refund us the deposit. My suggestion is do not stay here unless you want to be chase around by a mouse or maybe more than one. Again we have been doing a group trip and renting beach houses for over 5 years and never once had we run into any issues. We are a clean, neat group and never leave the house a mess but this house and the owner did not make this trip pleasant at all. Be careful when choosing this house.

  Owner response: This review is false and invalid. We have owned this home for 10 years and have never had an issue with mice. We take the maintenance and cleanliness of our home very seriously and we have reason to believe that the Tran family is making this story up in an effort to receive a refund for their vacation. The Tran family called the management company and they had a pest control company come out to the property the same day to inspect the property. There was no evidence of mice but the company treated the home just in case. There were no further reports from the Tran family. The owners reached out to the Tran's after their stay to inquire about a large carpet stain that the housekeeping staff had reported. It was only at that time that the Tran's disclosed that there one mice siting and as a result they wanted a full refund for their stay. We obtained reports from the management company and housekeeping staff confirming that there was no evidence of mice. We felt that the Tran's request for a full refund was not reasonable. Furthermore, the home was thoroughly cleaned and inspected in advance of their check in. We returned the security deposit before 30 days from their check out date per the terms of the agreement so this assertion is also false. This is an unfortunate case of a renter trying to manipulate the system to obtain a refund.

  We were a family of 15 (8 adults, 7 kids) visiting Sails 1 in Nags Head, NC from June 9 – 16, 2012. We thoroughly enjoyed the house, a 3-story rental located directly on the beach and conveniently next to many services (gas, food, entertainment) and was accurately portrayed in the listing description. The house was completely stocked with china, glassware and mugs, tableware, two ice makers, two dish washing machines, and a clothes washer and dryer. There were many other duplicate amenities designed to serve a large group such ours. The bedrooms were comfortable, located on the basement and first floors with the very accommodating master bedroom on the second floor where the main living room and kitchen were located. All levels had either ocean-front deck or pool access. The good-sized pool and hot tub were often enjoyed after a session on the beach. Most bedrooms had their own bathrooms, but there were sufficient unattached bathrooms to comfortably handle the crowd. Linens and towels were extra and well worth the added cost being sufficient in number and of good quality. The overall condition of the house was quite good with only minor glitches (a stereo with speakers not properly connected, probably fiddled with by the prior renters) which the owners were quick to resolve. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this rental with no reservation for a large family group looking for a fun beach experience with small to medium sized kids.

  Just returned from our stay at Sails I. This is a beautiful home, well kept with all the things you might need. The view was spectacular!!!! The home is well represented in the listed description and the photos were right on. The owners were very helpful and answered all questions with as much information as possible and they responded very quickly. I highly recommend you consider Sails I for your next OBX vacation. While you're there, stop in at Carolina Seafood Buffet, wonderful eats and wonderful people. We absolutely LOVED this house, the area, the peace and quiet, the ocean view and the price was right!!!!!!!

  We loved this house! It was spotless and fresh on our arrival. Every bedroom was roomy. Fully carpeted so noises did not carry. There was 10 in our group and the house is so big we couldn't find each other half the time. Loved the music by the pool and tiki bar!! Everything in working order (except the slot machine) and lots of hot water and water pressure. The new Jennettes pier is beautiful and entertaining as the surfing championships were held that week. The hotels nearby were no issue at all. Anything you want to do is nearby, but the road is quiet and peaceful. This house is a wonderful value and I highly recommend it and will be back!!

  We were fortunate enough to stay at Sails one for 2 weeks this summer. The house was very well appointed and roomy and the views were incredible. We thoroughly enjoyed the 200 ft of additional beachfront from the recent beach enhancement project. The owners were very friendly and responsive and provided lots of tips for places to see. The house is close to lots of shops, restaurants and activities for the kids. We hope to come back next year!

  We have been staying in Nags Head for the past five years and this was the worst house we have rented. To start the house was located between two hotels which the owner failed to tell us. It was a 8 bedroom house and only 4 of the bedrooms had tv's in them. The kitchen was poorly stocked and the furniture was really worn looking. The game room was so tiny you couldn't even play pool without bumping into the walls. The deck was falling apart and we called the owners about it and they did nothing about it. It actually shook when you stood on it. I would not recommend this house to anyone .

  Owner response: This review is completely inaccurate and not truthful. The renters totally disrespected our property and left our home in very poor condition which required our cleaning staff to spend an additional four hours cleaning the property for the next guests. Meat was left on the grill. Juice was spilled all over the refrigerator. As a result, the next renters were not able to check in until 4 pm and we were required to pay an additional $200 in cleaning fees. There is a hotel to the north and three houses and a hotel to the south of the property. We had a discussion with the renter in the spring and advised of the location of the property. There is a private beach access and we can not control where the hotels are located. In 6 years of renting this property, we have never had a complaint about the location. The house clearly advertises that there are 7 TV's not there there are TV's in every bedroom so this complaint is completely invalid. The renters called us the second day advising that there was an issue with the deck. We immediately sent a member of the maintenance staff down the next day to investigate. Upon thorough investigation the maintenance man indicated that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the deck. All decks in the Outer Banks that were built on sand pilings can have mild vibrations. The deck is in no way unsafe or damaged so the statement that it is falling apart is false. The maintenance man also indicated that the renters were very rude to him After the guests checked out we were notified that they charged adult films .to our direct TV account. Per the rental agreement we have 30 days to return the security deposit less damages as we need ample time to inspect the property. 10 days after the renter's departure, we received threatening emails and voice mails about returning the security deposit. We communicated to the renter that per the terms of the contract we had 30 days to return the deposit less damages. It was clear that the renters did not bother to read the contract. We respectfully request that this review not be published as it is false and does not fairly represent our home or management of the property.

  Great house! The beach is beautiful in this area and we thoroughly enjoyed the Tiki bar at the pool. Close to lots of shops and restaurants and activities for the kids. Look forward to returning next year!
