The Kamai "Garden View" is located in Hale Koolau, a family owned & operated group of ocean & beach front vacation rental homes in Honolulu, Hawaii located in the fishing town of Hauula on Oahu's North Shore near the Polynesian Cultural Center, Turtle Bay, Kualoa Ranch, and many other wonderful Oahu attractions. We are located approximately 45 minutes from Honolulu International Airport on the North East coast of Oahu; where the Ko’olau Mountains touch the Pacific Ocean.

The Kamai is an air conditioned & affordable garden view vacation rental suite just 80 feet from the ocean on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii and offers a tranquil setting surrounded by indigenous flowers and tropical greenery. This is an economical one bedroom, one bath suite with porcelain tile floors throughout. The Kamai features a completely remodeled (2007) and open kitchen with maple cabinets, granite countertops, a sealed top stove/range, built-in microwave, fridge, and all the cooking utensils you need to prepare complete meals. The adjacent dining area has a teak table with seating for four. The living area is richly decorated with warm tropical & plantation style furniture and opens via sliding glass door to your private 240 sf covered lanai with outdoor dining area all overlooking our tropical courtyard, BBQ area, and hot tub. There is a queen size sleeper sofa in the living room. The separate bedroom area is furnished with elegant and tropical teak furniture with a new (2007) Sealy pillow top queen bed and also opens via sliding glass door to a side yard/lanai. The cute "cape cod" style bathroom has tile floors, stand-up shower, and pedestal sink. This suite, while fully air conditioned, enjoys cool tropical breezes all year around.
Enjoy private beach access through our oceanfront compound with the beach just 80 feet away (you don't need to cross a road or walk for blocks, you are on the oceanfront property already). There is plenty of area for sunbathing on the beach or on the grassy yard. Watch spectacular sunrises while soaking in a six man sunk-in hot tub (in oceanfront deck). Stroll down the beach to the Hauula beach park and coral preserve for some great snorkeling and swimming or take our ocean kayaks out for some adventure. Close by are world famous North Shore attractions such as the Hauula hiking trails & preserve, Polynesian Cultural Center, Turtle Bay Resort & Golf, Brigham Young University, Sunset Beach, Waimea Bay, Kualoa Ranch and the last unspoiled "Hawaiian" style towns on Oahu. Why the Owner Chose Hauula
Our family has owned and operated this business for two generations now. Originally our goal was to provide accommodations for people visiting family at BYU-Hawaii who wanted a more family-friendly atmosphere. We then realized the need for quality oceanfront vacation rentals at an affordable rate...this is our mission today, to provide quality, yet affordable, oceanfront vacation rentals on the North Shore of Oahu.
The Unique Benefits at this Oceanside Duplex Home
Guests who stay with us get more than just a place to sleep at night, they get their own beach house on the North Shore of Oahu. We have 450 linear feet of oceanfront property giving our guests plenty of room to lounge in the sun while being cooled down by the gentle breezes of the South Pacific Ocean. We also have four hot tubs on the property plus kayaks, boogie boards, snorkeling gear and complimentary high-speed internet. Each of our units come with full kitchens and 11 of them have air-conditioning. We are located four minutes from the Polynesian Cultural Center and Brigham Young University Hawaii. We are also located 20 minutes north of Kualoa Ranch and 15 minutes from Sunset Beach and the famous North Shore surfing beaches.
Within walking distance to Hale Ko’olau with a large grocery store and several restaurants, including the very popular Papa Ole’s Kitchen.
This is one of our favorite beach parks on O’ahu. Enjoy excellent sandy bottom swimming on this stunning and uncrowded beach.
This beach is also one of our favorites on the island and is famous for boogie boarding and body surfing…but watch out…they call it “Pounders” for a reason.

We have operated as Hale Koolau LLC for nearly a decade, however prior to this change of entity we operated the business as sole proprietors, accommodating thousands of guests over the years. We are a member of the Better Business Bureau of Hawaii with an A+ rating, member of the Hawaii Chamber of Commerce, and have an "excellent" rating on TripAdvisor.
